It is good to see the car coming along and working right. You will have the record in no time. I'm sure. Just so you know, my 8th mile record is 8.71 I'm sure he'll be able to top that without a problem.
Honestly seeing the fuel tech and how it is, I am super...super tempted to make the switch on my DSM. The power and inputs alone is a huge deal compared to my 28 year old mitsubishi ECU. Plus that correction feature and interpolation tool...man. Makes tuning a breeze. Keep up the good work, man. Glad to see you seem to be doing better.
I am currently choosing between haltech and fueltech and am leaning towards fueltech for a couple reasons. the 2 in 1 ecu/display and simplicity compared to haltech. I am very interested in learning to tune and it seems like fueltech would be an easier learning curve compared to haltech. my dsmlink v3 works, but is very limited and could greatly benefit from having a few more i/o's and going to sequential ignition with smart coils.
@@CVasquesDSM I wouldn't really say DSMLink is limited, per se. Kevin Jewer made 1000whp and went like high 7's on it. But there's no question haltech and fueltech are both WAY more robust and have way more options. I'd say not to upgrade unless you need to. Plus with DSMLink there's a ton of Wiki pages, youtube videos, and dudes on both DSMTuners and DSMLink forums that will all help you learn and give advice/tips. Don't jump ship unless you need to, I say!
@@CVasquesDSM Oh shit, didn't know that. That's my biggest gripe man, is the lack of inputs and outputs. The software can always be tweaked and features added, but the I/O stuff .

I'm super excited for ya bro as I been with ya for a wile now and love seeing this come along to the positive for ya .. and no more cutting out in boost .. hellz yeah booooiii 😅... at this rate you gonna have to find more stuff to add to car cuz you getting this down packed now 😂 .. n e ways peace and love bro keep it rad stay safe and build on l8z fam and have fun and hope the kiddos are doing well .. l8z fam
Awesome!! Im glad to see you having fun!! I havent been able to keep my car at idle not sure why, I'm going back to the drawing board to see if I can figure it out. I called FT and the guys tried to help me but they couldnt get it to idle.
I feel you on that. Mine tends to like to idle pretty high with the cams, single mass flywheel, clutch, and short runner intake. I had to play with the throttle idle percentage quite a bit. I forget what it called off the top of my head.
Hey Matt, I've been watching off and on for this build, and it's come a long way. How are you liking the new turbo? Or will you have a better answer when you get the car properly tuned?
Hey I just watched ur video from a year ago and I see u did a video on how to install a Tesla android touchscreen, turn out I had one of those but mine has a problem turning on, do u have any idea on how to turn it on?
I know its somewhat an older video but curious why the timing ramps up on your pulls as boost increases. Does the lesser timing help spool? Also, how did you determine the 8200 limiter?
There's really no rhyme or reason aside from I took a look at the stock timing map. Input that into the FuelTech. I pretty much left the boost timing (0-28 psi) how FuelTech configured it, but I pulled 5 degrees of timing to be safe. Once I get it on a dyno I'll be able to see what it likes for timing. As for the rev limiter, The engine keeps pulling. I've decided 8200 is enough. The engine could very well rev to 10k if I let it, but the the stock belt doesn't last long at that high of an rpm. There's no aftermarket high RPM belt for these engines that I know of and cheaper brands have flown apart at high RPM. I hope this helps.
Looking good bro. Looks like we're getting some cold this weekend and next week shouldn't be too bad for the track. Now that I got my car to start I'm gonna spend some time learning the software and making sure all my settings are right. I still need to find a timing light and get the ft map sensor hooked up. Good luck at the strip this weekend. When are you going maybe I'll make the drive up there
Definitely getting some chilly weather. You're getting close. The software is pretty easy to navigate and lots of good tutorials up. Specially from FuelTech and Broomy's Garage. I went up there last night, but the track was closed. Not sure if the wind knocked the power out or what?
@@cmattdabrat yeah probably it's been really windy the last few days and pushing my truck around. Well unless you go today I guess at least you'll have some extra time to learn some more and refine things a little more before you go to the track

Man that car is running 10 times better. Great job!
Heck yeah! Been a long time coming.
FuelTech is some cool stuff.....hopefully someday I will own a car worthy of FuelTech.......great video...not snoozeworthy at all....
I appreciate that! It sure is. A little heavy on the wallet, but has the car running great. Wish I would've done it sooner.

That's awesome! Really appreciate it.
Keep up the good work OG. We are all cheering you on 😎💪
Thanks!
Never been so envious of a Cruze 😍
Thanks!!
The engine sounds way smoother. FT is very simple to work with and you're pretty much nailing the tune.
It does! It seems very happy. Getting pretty close to having her dialed. Just trying to sort out the wastegate 3 way control. Almost there.
Keep up the good work man! I’m turboing my 1.8 sonic
Nice! Keep me posted on the progress.
It’s pulling good! Wow

Bro, i can already tell that 1.8l is running so much better on the standalone ecu. Its sounds so much better than it did with the stock ecu.

Do F6 to change the Fuel table to VE instead ms
I talked to FuelTech, Cameren, and he said it's not true VE since it doesn't measure airflow. MS is the most accurate.
Where you at Matt? On tour?
How are you travelling Mat. Its been a while. Hope things are ok.
Oh man! I bet on dry pavement it scoots! I wish I could give my LS this treatment lol
