  • In this video I will be dying the rear seats in my 1970 Cuda. I go through the prep and what products I used to match my interior. I have actually ordered new seat covers but they won't be in for a long time. Since I had the dye already I figured I might as well dye them now so they can match my new door panels this year.

Good morning and another great video demonstrating restoration techniques. I am amazed that it will take so long to get a Legendary seat cover. I am guessing it is the red that is going to take so long. Love the Legendary products, I have one in my 70 Challenger. Keep up the good work and I will keep looking forward to seeing what you have for us in your next installment of the Cuda upgrades.

A paint supplier I used to deal with could mix any color you wanted (or custom match to a sample)in automotive paint and add to it some special additive so that it could be used as a vinyl spray ' which was great ' but they stopped making the additive 'so that option was gone. Years ago I recolored the seats and headliner of my Valiant in black with VHT vinyl spray aerosol can's which worked great 'and didnt need adhesion promoter beforehand ' I suppose it was already mixed in .One good thing with you recoloring your dried out seat is that it will probably soften up the vinyl .

I also have sone mothers leather and vinyl conditioner that I’ve used on other pieces and I will try that after this cures a little longer. If it doesn’t soften it up it will at least smell great 😂
