Remember, folks. The Dark Knight Returns is one of the more mature and darker stories for Batman, and it is pretty fantastical. Same goes for the Arkham series. It is totally possible to make Batman dark and fantastical at the same time.

Well at least James Gunn so far has stated that there already is going to be consistency (or some form of consistency) between live action and animated projects. As long that this is supposed to still be the start of the DCU and the Creature Commandos will be returning in future DCU projects live action or animation, then I suppose this is still a good start. Already we know from this show alone that the trinity already exists and we already got a good look to how they will be looking like. So that’s a plus right there. I am however smart enough to know that animation doesn’t always translate well to live action or vise versa and I do believe that some visual “adjustments” will be made when going between the two mediums. But the canon will remain the same.
