There is a rumor going around among Japanese FF fans that the stories of FFIII and FFVIII may be connected.
In this video, I will show you what supports this hypothesis.
You should also know that in FF14 Shadowbringers the theme was FF3 with the crystal tower, and the raid patch introduced a raid that used FF8 as the theme
First time I encounter someone who shares this theory with me!
As someone who loves maps, comparing the ones of these games is something that stood out to me immediately, paired with the presence of Hain, it just fits so well together. This is one of those headcanons I've been obsessed with for so many years that Nojima could come to my house to tell me it's fake and I'd still run with it anyway. I will forever believe these two games are set in the same world thousands of years apart.
Nojima who is btw the same guy who wanted to subtly connect 10 to 7 as well, so it wouldn't be out of character for him.
If they had actually intended this from the start, that would've been really awesome.
SQUARE is good at adding things later, so I think they probably added a lot of things later (Haha)
I beat FFVIII today, and I should say that this theory makes more sense than Rinoa = Ultimecia. I have beaten FF3 multiples times in 2018 so I remembered the lore very well

That's certainly interesting; I haven't played FF3, but I did think it rather odd that Laguna would have any sort of conversation with CoD (aside from needing someone to trigger his funny "leg cramp" bit).
I have to wonder if there are also any connections between FF3 and FF5, given the connections between 5 and 8... I also find it funny that the three least-liked entries in the FF franchise (before 13) have connections to each other.
FFVIII and FFIII are connected, very interesting. 😍 There are similar point to connected the two world.😊

Very interesting theory, I never finished or beat FF3, I think the furthest I got was the water crystal in the Nes version, and never played the DS remake, but it surely makes sense and these connections seem a bit more intentional rather than pure coincidence. There are similar connections between FF7 and FF10, so clearly, it is not outside the realm of possibility that every so often, Square tries to connect some of the main games. Maybe there is a hidden pattern. FF3 and FF8, FF7 and FF10, there could be more.
It is true that the relationship between FFVII & FFX has been officially announced. I was planning to make a video soon (Haha)

VIII has the number III in it...
Does that mean II and VII are connected? I and VI? Do we go backwards starting from V, so that is connecting to XI, and XI is connected to XIV, and XII is connected to XIII vs XIII, X is connected to X-2(obvious theee lol) and XIII and XIII-2...

By the way, FF 12 & FF 16 are stories influenced by "FF TACTICS."
The story of "FF TACTICS" is so good that I thought it might be a good idea to feature it somewhere and make a video about it.
Tactics, 12, and Vagrant Story take place within Ivalice.
@@JapaneseGames007 oh damn I didn't know 16 was swt in Ivalice, although I guess 12 was only loosely connected, and then to the FFTA rather than the original Zodiac Braves story(imho easily in the greatest games of all time list up there with Xenogears and FF7)

Do the buildings of the sky continent have similar architecture to what we see on the ocean floor zones of the Deep Sea Research Centre?
Even if it were the site of FF3's "Floatland", the building itself would have been built much later.
