What about the sorceress in Centra Ruins. There's a statue of Odin holding her dying in his arms. Either that's a different knight/sorceress pair, or maybe Odin was zephyr?
I thought rinoa became a sorceress first after the 2nd battle with Edea?.. then had Adel power after that battle which led her the only active sorceress of that time.
You are totally correct. Rinoa unknowingly gets powers from Edea, but neither of them were aware of that happening. However, that is what allowed Ultimecia to possess Rinoa, so it is relevant to the story. I was trying to keep the video from getting too long. So since she wasn't really aware of receiving Edea's power, I chose to say that her true powers were awakened after the fight with Adel. Great catch!
@@KumaPlays you know I never understood that part of the story with edea not knowing she had passed her powers to rinoa. But that still won't explain her access to her limit break. I wish they would explain that better lol
@@juststeve2579I think that it wasn’t Edea herself the one that transferred her power to Rinoa, but rather Ultimecia in Edea’s body, Ultimecia thought that Edea was gonna die, and if that happened, then she couldn’t possess anyone else at Ellone’s era but Adel, but Adel was imprisoned at the time, so no possession was ever gonna be possible anymore because no one else would have freed Adel out of free will with Ellone out there, so Ultimecia went with an emergency plan to possess someone from the party to gain access to Adel, and Rinoa was surely the most fit, and in order to possess Rinoa she needed to inherit Edea’s power, so Ultimecia did the thing and transferred Edea’s power to Rinoa. (Power which is later confirmed that is partially Ultimecia’s own power from her own future self, which may explain why Edea was so easy to possess at first, and why Edea still has access to the limit after the transfer, maybe when Ultimecia transferred Edea’s power to Rinoa, she only transferred her own Ultimecia’s future self power that was within Edea, thus leaving Edea with her original (weaker) power that still gives her access to the limit, but leaves her almost powerless and thus useless to possess against Adel and Rinoa)
Hyne was the ultimate villian because you never meet him but his influence especially getting both parts of his "body" during time compression is wild.
The moment you enter disc 4, till taking down Ultimecia, just feels like a final Exam. Like everything about the game is being thrown back at you. Ultimecia dictates which three you will start with. You get junctioned magic blown away at random. You can't revive anyone if they get absorbed into time. If you take too long on the final form, Ultimecia will cast Apocalypse(which I have never seen. It fascinates me how the plot hides Ultimecia away, but from replaying it, you can see she was there the whole time through Edea, then Rinoa.
How about at the end of the Timber broadcast if you look at the screen you can see red letters forming phrases assumed to be from Adel in space which is also why the tower was taken offline or how Ultimecia is Rinoa from a not so bright future timeline based off the floating castle being at the promised spot and a few other things. So much cool stuff in the background in ff8
Hyne should have set an alarm clock. He was crafty enough to make all humanity, but not so bright as to give himself a reminder to check on the kiddos.
Sorry my question, but after Edea is defetead didnt she pass her powers to Rinoa? Esthar tried the lockdown Rinoa just like they made with Adel (to stop the infinite circle of sorceress passing they powers to others). Them Adel drain Rinoa's power to fight (under Ultimecia's control i guess) and when she is defetead Ellone send Ultimecia's mind to her future.
You are correct that is the technical order of inheritance / possession. But considering how much ultimacia jumps bodies in that section of the game I understand why they just simplified it to Rinoa's final possession at Lunatic Pandora.
Im gonna go out of my way and say that Adel had slightly more raw power than Ultimecia, but Ulty is just more creative. Adel is more concerned with destructive non elemental effects and Ulty has more of a storybook style. When you fight her she isnt capable of using Ultima or Meteor unless she summons a helix and I kind of like that. And Griever is as powerful as he is thanks to Squalls imagination. She IS strong enough to resume time compression at the end of the game but only after merging with Griever and using his pieces as ammo for the spell. I say all of this bc Edea should technically be well above Adel, due to her receiving multiple lineages but she is functionally the weakest. That doesn't make sense unless you factor in the power weaking with each transfer. It also keeps Ulty from suddenly becoming powerful enough to cast TC from her own time after the Sorceress power stacks after enough time loops.
I could see Hyne being the emperor from FF2, i didn't care for 2 as much cause of the mechanics, but i did enjoy the story, and i could get into a tie in of the 2 stories

I always interpreted the final battle as Artemecia gaining knowledge and power... And realizing with this enlightenment *she was completely screwed* She would lose here. She always loses here. And then she would go around and around forever. Her attainment of godhood had sent her to a Jojo Villain tier fate. I think that weird dialogue "reflect on your childhood..." was because she had a feeble plan to try and free herself. If Squall was bought along to where Artemecia encountered Edea maybe Squall would find a way to put her down before she reached Edea and damned herself for eternity. But neither Squall or Edea can grasp this and Artimecia does what she has done over and over. And will always do.
