To see, through simply hearing words spoken, precisely what is intended to be heard is truly refreshing. To achieve such an ability in the context of 45 years confinement and then apply that ability for free is beyond the evidence I would need to be convinced of his sincerity. I find it extremely powerful and empowering to listen to his life experiences for like him I am a excon who has experienced alot of similiar situations and have a similar background as Michael. I didn't spend near amount of decades of decades incarcerated but i was locked up behind razorwire to see and experience enough violence that I knew i needed to redirect my life & reinvent myself as man who is productive within society which I can now proudly say I am 5 yrs post release. I find it extremely sad that the state of California is trying to send him back to prison instead of utilizing his vast experiences and life lessons to help youth avoid Premature Death or Life in Prison for he has so much more to give back to society as opposed to making him rot in prison for charges he never even committed. @@zappa-happy Yes, I finished law school and have practiced law for nearly 38 years. 25 years in California and about 13 in North Carolina. I recently put my California license on inactive status, as I no longer handle cases out there. I doubt Michael would remember me, but I never had any problems with the Brand. Michael was always decent and a gentleman, although I swear he may have tried to snooker me one time. If you have contact with Shaun, maybe pass this along (not sure Michael would even care at this point: I spoke with one of my colleagues a few years back (pumping me for free legal advice, of course) and he related that they finally found what was left of the folding buck knife Smitty used to kill “Loser” Clark. They Found it during repairs to the plumbing on the 2nd tier in Palm on which the AB’s were housed back in the ‘80’s. Some suspected a CO (who will remain unnamed) smuggled it in. Others think it was “keistered” by Michael or one of his colleagues and brought in following a trip to court, managing to get it past our electromagnatometer (sp?) and wand. I was not on duty at the time of the killing, but heard the gory details the next day including Smitty’s parting words to Loser, “die fucker, die”. The only other killing during my tenure was that of BGF wanna-be Henry Love by Wayne Hayes (AKA “Kojo”) on the first tier which, as I recall, housed combined NF and BGF members. Again, I wasn’t on duty. A Thomas Esparza (ironic surname) committed suicide by hanging around this time. Sad backstory. I Think he was on the AB tier, but I’m not 100% sure. I doubt my recollections other than these I’ve shared would have much value in a podcast. I have some pictures (most of which I’ve seen on podcasts) and other documents I kept as mementos. Interesting times for me as a young man. My work as a CO allowed me to graduate from law school (Loyola of Los Angeles) with virtually no student loan debt.

Michael's partner whom he met in prison was also part of the fraud so he might have been in the dark when it came to what happened. That's why Michael isn't allowed to use a computer currently, I think he is given a pass to use his computer to do these podcasts as a form of "community service" while he probably is paid by Shaun for his time as well which goes towards paying fines issued by the court later on.

The 223 round wasn't developed during WWII, but in 1957 (per Wikipedia), and it is the Mini 14 that fires that rounnd, not the M14. The M14 fires the 308.

I very much concur with what
    Mike Thompson said about the
cruelty of putting a human being
    inside of cage.
    What is noteworthy is that
    the US Constitution forbids
    "cruel and unusual punishment".
    Yet...
the United States has both the highest incarceration rates
in the world and also uses
punishments such as the gas chamber
    and the electric chair where
    a condemned person is
    in effect fried to death.

What a massive display of taking the system down. This man, no matter how hard would only survive through at least one fortuitous turn. For in bringing transparency to our capacity for violence and evil acts. Our capability to control these scenarios to become in essence killing rooms is vile and despicable by a hundred fold the circumstances behind the most violent inmates reason for being there to begin with. Prisons too good for the likes of those who saw nothing while overseer.

The Mini 14 was not made during WWII. It was made much later. It was not designed to be a sniper rifle either. It shoots a .223 round which is a tiny .22 cal. bullet. It sure would not knock you down or knock the wind out of you. He is right that the .223 was designed to pass thru a body without killing.

Actually you are both off the mark. The Mini-14 is a sporting rifle made for the civilian and law enforcement markets. It has a close resemblance to a military M-14, though much smaller and more delicate. It's round is a .233, a civilian round nearly identical to the current military 5.56 NATO. It can be a devastating round within it's limitations. The M14 is a military weapon of a much larger and more powerful round that has been and is used both as a general infantry rifle and a sniper rifle in dedicated form.
