    As a young black boy in the 80’s-90’s, I lived next to old made men in Queens. They’d give us candy, ice cream and kept the block safe. They threw the best July 4th fireworks! The weirdos stayed away. Women were safe walking in the streets. I never was bullied for being black by those guys. Today Queens is a dump, what a shame. Miss the good old days in NYC.

    I have to say, The Bull has made me rethink a lot of what I saw the Mafia to be. The way he explained HIS point of view on how life was is amazing. I too am a veteran, so when he compared what they did to a soldier in a war, I completely understand orders. I have done things people have nightmares about, but I did them for self-preservation and because I was ordered to do it. I also liked how he spoke about the children in America and how they turn out is about their upbringing. I agree wholeheartedly. So, to answer your question, yes, Sammy helped me look at their lifestyle a little differently. Great episode!

    I agree with @hadsome express- I’m an Italian woman & we were taught never to open our mouths, don’t draw attention, don’t discuss our personal business….and my dad wasn’t in the mafia ! Gotti is so disrespectful it’s bothersome! I did change my opinion about Sammy- although I don’t agree with physical violence, he made it very clear that it was amongst the families or those involved with them. Like today’s gang fights, poor innocent kids and others are getting killed drive-bys. Sammy reminded me about the respect the original families had for women and children - innocent men, civilians. As well; I didn’t realize how much Gotti turned on him. I like Sammy!

    • @Gyyges
      @Gyyges 4 роки тому +1

      My take on this is that corrupt politicians do us more harm (collectively) because we have some default expectation that they will spend at least some of their time attempting to make life better for constituents. When they do the opposite, people are manipulated to accept the corruption as the status quo. On the other hand, only an idiot thinks the mob cares one iota about any unaffiliated person. The public will always be their cloak and their leverage.

    • @Archetype77

      @jeff This is literally the best interview I've ever seen by anybody. Not so much because of the interviewer, but because Sammy is a great storyteller....quick and direct to the point with no bullshit. He tells it like it is with no filter. I think he realizes and recognizes the mistakes he made in the past by killing people and that's a something that he can't change, but he seems to have turned his life around for the better.

      jeff Sammy refuted that assertion in the interview. Was he lying? Do you have proof otherwise? He got offended when Patrick put that to him and went on to say everybody from the top to the bottom made money and he stitched no one. He seemed proud when he said he paid a $250K debt instead of gangstering them and then a year later he got a huge contract because of that. Curious as to your comment I am 🤔

B/c of my European looks, combined w/pics of my dad & uncles ( RIP) I often hear falsities that my family is connected. Perhaps with Sammy’s quick summary of the history, combined with maybe asking where my family is from, Param ( way up North near the alps) I won’t hear disrespectful, uneducated, responses. To Sammy, I was in NYC not long ago, and 2 guys stopped me & asked for a pic and said “ we love you on Min Wives”…smh. But your daughter? Is an amazing bad ass! I love her. She keeps it real.
