    How she says "my mother would hold me", and "My father liked me". She got comfort and support from her mother, and she didnt get that from her dad which is often the case, but she knew that he liked her. He didnt hold her and comfort her, but maybe he laughed with her and told her jokes and always smiled when they talked and thats how she remembers him, as a man who she can honestly say liked her. Its really sweet.

      Dolores's father had an accident and was paralyzed a few months after Dolores was born. Despite that, he was apparently a loving father, because she always declared her love for him. She dedicated several songs to him, such as "Why?", composed after the death of her father in 2012 and where she expresses everything she missed him ... ...

    Another thing, this band, how did they make such simple 4 chord progressions sound so good? (D, Bm, F#m, G for those interested). And only Dolores could make a song about feeling homesick while on tour so affecting.

    I am nothing compared to You, in terms of the struggles You have seen. And so can most anyone on this planet tell their story. But to be able to tell ones story, background and emotions through song, with such nerve and unbelieve talented vocal range - It is simply unique. It is my hope that God in his wisdom, will remember those who contributed in an extraordinary way, with such unique talent like Doloris, that we in his wisdom will not be depraved of such a talent in the promised land to come. Until then - We miss you Doloris!

      Dolores was recovering from a psychotic break when she finally got diagnosed with Bi Polar disorder. She was doing well with the correct medication but still had a ways to go it seems. She got very drunk one night and drowned in her bath. Although, by the evidence released to the public from that night, she was having a blast at the time. I hope so.

      It is.
      It is: Unhappiness: “Where’s when I was young and we didn’t give a damn?”
      It doesn’t make sense otherwise. UA-cam subtitles often make simple mistakes like this.

    I always wondered about this song bc it seems like it could have different meanings. Like: "my father...he liked me...oh he liked me...does anyone care..." Like that could mean something good or maybe something sinister? This song is a tribute to her family and the sadness in it is a kind of nostalgia. Or maybe it expresses a sorrow about love lost with family.

    • @mikekelly5869
      @mikekelly5869 2 роки тому

      I'm fairly sure "he liked me" refers to his encouragement of her early musical efforts. Dolores had a close relationship with her father.
