Side note: So there's no mistake.... Delore's died on THE DAY she was supposed to record her vocals on Bad Wolves cover of Zombie. She didn't show up and the band was concerned so they had the hotel check on her. That's when she was found drowned in the tub. Tommy was devastated to say the least. He decided to release their version, minus Delores' vocals, just weeks later and donate the proceeds to her children. Stand-up man if you ask me!! RIP Delore's and BLESS YOU Tommy Vext and Bad Wolves!!!!

The song is about the IRA fighting with the British. He swapped out "guns" with "drones" in the first half and then it was "tanks", "bombs", "guns", and "drones" in the 2nd half.
This is one of the most heartbreaking videos I've ever seen...not only because of the original message but the way Bad Wolves didn't try to copy her but made it Thier own. It was the message yes, but it was Thier tribute to her. One of the greatest covers ever performed. Just my opinion.

Saw this video just after i learned she left this world. There are few artists that affected me in their passing, but she is one of them. This video touched my soul.

I have to say, this was easily one of the best covers of this song I've ever heard. And I heard that from behind the scenes, when they first saw the woman who could easily pass for Dolores after she was all covered in gold, it really broke them. She looks exactly like her, which just adds more impact.
I lost my oldest son, Joshua Orion Rico, in 2018 to alcoholism. I, myself, am alcohol free since 2007. He lost my Mom, Ina Benally in 2017to alcohol also. He couldn't take the pain of the loss. They weren't really talking to each other for awhile. When she passed, he lost it. I tried helping him so much, but he couldn't shake the drink. He always told me "Dad, you're the strongest person I know. I love you". I ask why and his response was "I don't know how you live without your mom all these years". I lost my Mom, Rose Hayes in 87. I had a big argument with my mom and said "I don't want to see you like this. Don't come around anymore if you're drunk." And walked off. I never saw her again. For years, I fought the pain and guilt of that, which fueled my alcoholism. After my son's burial, I didn't listen to nothing for the whole week he passed, and I turned on the Radio. It is this song. I miss him so much. Love you Son. Til we meet again

You gained a follower. You are a beautiful spirit and I can relate to you on many levels. I shaved my head in the 90's, to look like Dolores. I listened to this song over and over and over again. I cry every time I hear this version. In losing someone who makes a difference in our lives, we lose a little bit of ourselves and we hold that in our memories. By remembering how strong these lyrics are, and how Dolores delivered her talent, we can hold this a little more dear to our hearts. She certainly had a part in shaping me into the person I am today. And it's okay to cry! It's absolutely beautiful to cry and share emotions. It shows that we care, that we're human. 💕

Two days later after the Cranberries lead singer died tragically I did a cover of Zombie. She was a big time legend in the 90s and my old band did the same song back in highschool. Imo the Bad Wolves cover is totally awesome! Now my new band GDO and I are going to do a tribute to Dolores O'Riordan here in Fountain Inn SC this summer.

Being Irish I loved her. Her voice was iconic. That album helped me thru 2 tours in the Gulf War. Cried myself when I heard them play it at Rockville. Still hits the feels when I hear it.

I admit this went over my head the first time I saw it. I knew the song . Like you I grew up with it, but I never watched the video. Once I did and I put it together with what he was doing here, holy shit. This is amazing on so many levels. Putting the changed lyrics aside, (yes he did rework them) it is what you are seeing. Yes the gold lady is supposed to be Delores. She is behind the glass because her presence is there but she is not. She is obscuring the view though the glass and writing the date on it because she is dead. The camera flips at the end and shuts out the other side to shut out the world never to return.

I love this but it still makes me cry everytime I hear it because I was in a basement with my oldest brother after my other older brother passed and he just wanted to hear some good memories of him and I watched him really break down for the time in my life. I was born in Belfast in the 70s ,less than 2 miles from the original video location, one major thing people dont realise is that when this song was released we were still at war with each other ! and this song was a wake up call for many people here, sad I only seen her once and missed out on seeing her a year before she passed, great cover btw and never lose your passion Jen ❤

When I first heard that Bad Wolf was doing a cover of Zombie ( one of my cranberries favourites by the way ) I was not very happy but after hearing i was so pleased with how they covered it. Never heard of bad wolf but will listen to them in future. Loved your reaction. I tear up everytime I hear this song.

when i listen to a song with a message like this one i try to learn about the motive that lead someone to wright it. this is about the death of 2 boys, 3 and 12 years old, on the way to buy a mortherday card for their mom. i not sure if that´s correct but the record company wanted dolores to stop working on this song and even offer her a check of 1 million dollars for her not release it. the song is outhere... we all know what happened to that check. I know The Cranberries were not happy that they released this within days of Dolore's death. I am conflicted about it because I don't think they meant any disrespect but maybe they could have waited a bit longer. It was obvious from the message she left on their answer machine just hours before she died that she was extremely into this cover though. I couldn't watch this video without crying either. It was a bad day for the world losing her.

Now, on a side note.. a little guitar fun fact if you will. The lead guitarist for The Cranberries played an American made Gibson Les Paul Custom in their official video. The Bad Wolves lead guitarist is playing a Japanese made ESP Horizon. There is a bitter rivalry between Gibson and ESP dating back to the 80s and 90s (ESP made copies of Gibson's and got sued many times by them). The Cranberries are rock/alternative-ish. The Bad Wolves version is METAL. ESP wins!
