I've spent the whole time crying while watching your reaction... Dolores was an angel, I grew up listening to her voice and now she's really missed... Love her, forever.
I remember growing up in the 90s. The Cranberry's music was so therapeutic for me, a teenger at the time. The album Ode to My Family is perfection imo. Dolore's passing hit me really hard. I hope she knew how many people appreciated and was helped by her music. 🙏 ❤🖤❤
Same here. I remember that their songs were healing and helped me through my first failed relationship. I had been listening to The Cranberries for a while, but the album "Bury the Hatchet" came out around this time (I listened to "Promises" and "Saving Grace" most often). I still love Dolores.
They played 'When You're Gone' as Dolores O Riordan was brought out of the Church and before her body was placed back into hearse to take her to her final resting place. Dolores was buried next to her father. She had such a gorgeous voice and beautiful soul!
Dolores was from my hometown here in Limerick Ireland she had such a powerful voice Zombie is about the troubles in Northern Ireland tho specifically its about an IRA bombing in Warrington England in which two young boys died 😔😔
I’m 18 years old and have listened to this band since I was a baby. It was my parents favorite band when they were still together and every single one of their songs gives a wave of nostalgia and makes me tear up when I listen. The death of the main singer, Dolores left me a feeling of emptiness and despair and I couldn’t listen to their music for a while. Now I own most of their physical albums and their music is my escape from the world. It hurts knowing I’ll never get to see and hear my heros in person.
Love when Dolores harmonizes with herself. She was an amazing vocalist for a very talented band. Four great songs reviewed here. Thanks and have a good one! ☮️👍✌️
Both David Bowie and Prince’s passings hit me pretty hard but I was surprised how much Dolores’s did as well. The music of The Cranberries were a big part of my teen years. Such a gifted artist.

I was in Warrington, my home town, the day before Johnathan and Tim were killed. (Tim actually died in hospital 5 days later.) I had my children with me, buying Mother’s Day gifts. My kids were the same age as the two who died. Cranberries were touring England and this affected Dolores hugely. RIP Johnathan, Tim and the wonderful Dolores.
It was terrible what happened to those two children but the song was never wrote for them she dedicated it to them because the song came out around the same time. The song is actually about the children in Ireland having to go through a war because English invasion of Ireland.
@@tdogg1157 The official video portrays the troubles, the writing of the song wis inspired by the Warrington incident. There are better interviews out there somewhere.
@@tdogg1157 I get what you’re saying. Perhaps my comment was a little ambiguous. Dolores was prompted to write the song by the Warrington bombings. I believe her sentiments, from the anger and grief I’ve seen in other interviews, was for the children in not only Ireland, but for all children caught up in adult’s conflicts. The war in Northern Ireland was between the Protestant unionists, or loyalists and the Roman Catholic republicans. The British army weren’t invaders, although there was long standing animosity due to the actions of the Black and Tans, they were part of a peacekeeping force along with the Royal Ulster Constabulary RUC and the Ulster Defence Regiment UDR. It was a nasty time and I lost close friends. There were unforgivable actions on all sides by all parties. No one is free of blame.
When I hear "Linger" it always takes me back to 1994 and it being played on the Real World San Francisco. They are so distinct. Dolores had a one of kind voice! RIP
wow, this takes me back to the 90s.. watching " Ode To my Family" makes me so nostalgic to tears.. I'm glad you shared this. Cranberries were a great band great story tellers
Their music is amazing, thank you so much for reacting. When Doloris died it really hit me hard as she was such a gifted and talented vocalist, her voice just brings so many emotions. Please do a part 2!!
14:04 - yes, it's pretty amazing how she's able to evoke so much emotion through her vocals. She combines modern rock with traditional Irish litling vocal style known as keening
Thanks for including the 50s do-wop through an Irish folk lens song "When You're Gone" When this song came out Chris Isaak, Roy Orbison, were on the charts and it fit so beautifully.
Imagine getting to hear this for the first time 🥰 I remember listening to the Cranberries when I was a kid and being blown away by them. There was some amazing music that came out in the 90’s
I love the way Dolores sang in a traditional Irish way and that her accent comes through and her use of keening bringing Irish tradition to popular music. Love your reaction to a band I grew up listening to ...R.I.P Dolores
Wonderful reaction. I do get behind looking up the lyrics and meanings as it can be tricky to get it all, between accents, different culture and Dolores's singing style, which is so moving and emotional as you said, but sometimes hard to get every word if you're not Irish. The lyrics are so deep always.
One of my favorite bands from my high school and college. The lead singer, Delores O'Reardon passed away a few years back. Hearing her voice is both nostalgic in a good way and sad to me. She did all the har, monies in the studio. Totally recognizable voice!
Such an emotional rollercoaster listening to The Cranberries, so sad of her passing away. An Appreciation for the great music from this band, her beautiful voice was so unique. Zombie is one of my favorite songs of all time. All four songs from video clip are great. Yes!! Do a part 2 :) You must react to "Ridiculous Thoughts"! "Hollywood" is another banger. Much of the Cranberries catalogue awesomely powerfully portrays angst or sorrow, but they also have some sweet mid-tempo songs like "Just My Imagination" and "Stars"
I love the Cranberries and the voice of Dolores ORiordan (RIP). I'd forgotten about the beginning of Dreams with her being under water. That was kind of eerie as she ended up drowning in a bathtub while being intoxicated. Incredibly sad and tragic. Voice of an angel.
I love that these are 4 different musical styles. Dreams is almost pop. Ode is a beautiful ballad with strings. When You're Gone is 50's style doo-wop rock. Zombie is grunge hard rock. Such a versatile band to go along with her amazing voice!
