How about the talks recently, especially by Elder Oaks and Elder Bednar about protecting religious freedom? I believe those messages are for us to step up and stand behind the constitution because that's where our freedom of religion stems from.
Yes! Most of the time I hear the "hang by a thread" quote its by members who are really saying "if you vote for the guy I support, you save the country, otherwise you are destroying the Constitution". Clearly, watching what the Apostles are actually saying, its the threat to religious freedom we need to watch for!
Looked up the quote by Ezra Taft Benson, as referred to below. He says that the constitution "will be saved by the citizens of this nation who love and cherish freedom. It will be saved by the enlightened members of this Church..." So I see it that members of the church will included in the citizens of this nation in saving the constitution.
The elders are very important, but it's good for everyone to remember that the majority of the Lord's work is being done by him outside of the church. He pierces through the mists of darkness to help bring people to a point where they might find the church. He creates a lot more righteousness through this process. He has servants elsewhere with less authority but often times more power due to their diligence.
I don't remember where I heard it (regional or women's conference maybe) but I remember being told that the women of the church need to teach our children the constitution. Have them memorize it. Teach them the Gospel principles connected to it.
My high school seminary teacher’s brother, who is probably in his 50s, has this phrase in his patriarchal blessing and he is a lawyer. It mentions he would help save the constitution as it hangs by a thread.
Just a thought. Lorenzo Snow's blessing said he could transport his body to other worlds. Joseph Smiths said no weapon formed would harm him. Have considered the talk by President Ezra Taft Benson at BYU in 1986. He cites the quote by Coray. Then he goes on to say that the good people of this country who love the constitution will save the constitution, (can't remember if he mentioned the elders of the church), and it won't come from Washington, DC?

In Ezra Taft Benson's 'Our Divine Constitution' in 1987, he states: "Unfortunately, we as a nation have apostatized in various degrees from different Constitutional principles as proclaimed by the inspired founders. We are fast approaching that moment prophesied by Joseph Smith when he said: “Even this nation will be on the very verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground, and when the Constitution is upon the brink of ruin, this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean, and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction” (19 July 1840, as recorded by Martha Jane Knowlton Coray; ms. in Church Historian’s Office, Salt Lake City)."
But the early saints werent a fan of the constitution. Thats why they created their own government councils called the council of 50 where they anointed Joseph Smith as king and left the republic to form their own theocracy in Mexican territory. They thought they would convert the native Americans and join them in overthrowing the United States as part of the second coming. You can read Brigham Young's quote about this in the council of 50 minutes.
It has been hanging for decades. The thread is barely holding. But there are elders in even branch of government and alphabet agencies. Though corruption has infiltrated, so has righteousness at every level from sea to shining sea. In addition there are many righteous people not of our faith therein as well. It has been war there for…well…ever. But truth will prevail this time. The Lord will use the wicked to destroy the wicked. President Oaks and Elder Chrisofferson have spoken many times at many events, nationally and globally, to keep the light of freedom shining. Johnathon Kahn has done this also. Remember, there are times in Isaiah when Zion means the promised land-the United is a promised land. Here he has gathered many of the lost ten tribes, and now at the southern border, they hasten here by the millions each year. Many are the honest at heart. The Lord is gathering them to Zion, the New Jerusalem-this country where his church is headquartered and has been a place so feared that none have dared to attack this land of “peace.” The Lord will destroy the three Eagle heads shortly, and the body-the people- will be saved because the elect-the covenant keepers-will not falter. The feathers will no longer be overthrown by these evil heads. Christ will become our nation’s head soon. The destroying angel will pass over this nation, though it surely shall be cleansed more and more each day. Yes, evil abounds. But the Lord will prevail and after the full cleansing of the blood and sins of this generation, Zion will prosper. Put on thy beautiful garments, oh captive daughters of Zion! This is just my opinion and ideas of man mingled with scripture. But we are told in the last days a righteous remnant will flee to Zion. Whether that is talking about a remnant of the church itself or a remnant of the world population in general I don't know. But in Zion the saints will be protected and others outside of it will be afraid to go there. We know that the nation was divinely established to give a place for the restoration. I am also of the understanding that we also believe the constitution to be divinely inspired (we don't think it is perfect though). If so it would make sense to me for the saints, the elders, the priesthood, to have the constitution in force in Zion. So carried away to Zion the only place it will be used while everyone else is in total anarchy?
Saw where Utah national guard 300 strong left for Africa March 3. I know some of those are priesthood holders. What an opportunity to serve God and country.
This general principle resonates deeply in my soul. I am often telling my children that freedom is the ability to govern yourself, which necessitates righteousness. I give them freedom to govern themselves as long as certain conditions are met. If those conditions fail to be met consistently, then I step in and help guide them back to the path they need to be on. It’s all age-appropriate stuff. We homeschool, so things like basic daily hygiene, consistent efforts in their school work and goals they have set, daily chores, and being respectful to everyone else in the house are the conditions. As long as they are consistently meeting these expectations, I generally let them spend the remainder of their days working on their own projects unless we have plans outside of our typical schedule. If they have a passion, I generally believe that it’s something they may have been foreordained to do in this life. My 11 yr old has (for years, as long as he had started academics anyway) always been interested in space and in theoretical physics. He reads Einstein and Rovelli for fun! As long as he’s meeting the basic requirements, I let him extend his school day according to his interests, which often ends up in coding or other tech related topics. My middle is really into the hero stage. He loves learning about people who have changed the world, and the areas of influence tend to follow his hobbies so he can delve into that. My youngest is just starting to find his way outside of shadowing his brothers, and it’s so fun to see him explore hobbies and find what inspires him personally. Politically, I feel it’s crucial for our nation to preserve religious freedom. I quite enjoy attending local multifaith events (especially if there’s a pot luck following 😊) because the Spirit is always so strong as each group shares something that inspires them. Hearing Muslim children sing a song listing the names of Allah, hearing someone share what they enjoy about a painting of a saint that hangs in their religious center, etc. So amazing. I highly recommend attending events like this in your area and making connections with your community. Jared, I love when you interview Rabbi Gershein! I feel that the constitution is hanging by a thread, I feel the time of “it may or may not” has passed, we are there. Also, knowing that the constitution is of God and is the constitution of Zion…also Joseph Smith referred to the US as the land of Zion brings new meaning to the scriptures that say “wo to those who say all is well in Zion” and “wo unto those who are at ease in Zion”. I feel it’s saying that those who sit by and do nothing are those who are lulled into a carnal security, blinded by the devil, asleep, pacified, not willing to get out of their comfort zone to speak up or do something, complacent, idle and in denial of the danger that we are in or unwilling to do anything about it cause it’s too much work and/or too scary. We need to awaken to our awful situation as spoken in Ether chapter 8…the Lord COMMANDS us to not let the secret combination get above us and the scriptures say this secret combination seeks to take away the freedom of ALL nations for power and gain! With how the world is today, the brethren are not free to speak about certain things anymore. But there was a recent talk that mentioned our day when societies collapse, and ours certainly is with the constitution hanging by a thread.

I believe the scriptures that talk about how Christopher Columbus, the pilgrims, and others were guided by the hand of The Lord in The work that each of them did. I believe our founding fathers were guided in writing the constitution, declaration of independence and other important documents. For a long time, our country has been more blessed than other countries, because of the freedoms we have been given through His guiding hand. The problem now is that we as a country are choosing Him less and less. We are becoming as other countries He helped in the past- that have turned away from Him. I don’t know if The United States of America will still exist when Jesus Christ comes. I don’t think His coming is far away. I do know that most people can look around and see clearly that we are no longer United- the part that is most important to our Father in Heaven. The States of America- is not what He guided. HIS Government Will Be Set Up. He Will Rule All - in His Way. To those who open their eyes, minds, and hearts- to following His Will- it will not matter to us what He chooses to call His Kingdom. We are called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The Temples are built for His Majesty and are called The House of The Lord. The land will be gathered together- so it is not hard to believe that He may give it a New Name also. We receive a New Name in our temple ordinances. We are told that The Earth will receive her Celestial Glory- So- in my understanding- She will receive a New Name. - my thoughts Thank you- lots to ponder on.
The Brunson Brothers are from highland Utah . They are a part of 7 families that have taken on the Law ! By the law . Bronson Brothers filed suit for the entire senate and Congress did not hold up their oath office . Barbra and Ken Cromer- sued the law over taxes - they won but fbi still arrested them . And this is in Provo courts . ( all corrupt officials, yet are still fighting with the law ) Tom Brocoff also in jail for telling about human trafficking again in Utah . Yes these are all Elders in the church . I feel these people are showing us how to save our country threw the courts and laws . In the Journal of Discourses 2:182 Brigham Young said, “…when the Constitution of the United States hangs, as it were, upon a single thread, they will have to call for the “Mormon” Elders to save it from utter ; and they will step forth and do it.” Was that his opinion or was it a prophecy?
The missionaries have given me 1 copy of the Book of mormon. That is all they had to spare. I hope they get more. At least with this one more Book of mormon I will have reached my goal of 10. I am having trouble with password and I don't have a phone number to place it through the app. They need to send me a code and I no longer have those phone #s to get the code to give it back to them. The United States government is not a direct democracy, it is a Republic. A democracy is a system where the power to make policy comes directly or indirectly from the people. We, in the U.S., we're not a direct democracy - which is like where everybody votes on every piece of legislation. We vote to choose our elected officials and we trust they will do that on our behalf. Now, a republic is a system where elected officials make the rules, versus being born into power like a monarchy. That is why it is very important to vote and to choose for elected officials that are honorable, God fearing people that will uphold and support the American Constitution. During the presidential meeting inauguration, the president of the United States will solemnly swear to the following: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Some skeptics today like to argue that the founding fathers purposefully left God out of the Constitution. They say that a “Godless Constitution” was the intended design of the document-and they’re wrong. First of all, the authors of the Constitution not only mention God, they even mention that Jesus is God. They do this in the ratification clause. This was done “in the Year of Our Lord” 1787. God has blessed the United States of America immensely and will continue to bless the people of this nation insofar as we honor and worship Him. The Constitution now serves as a model for freedom-loving nations across the globe. As we contemplate our nation’s history, it is vital that we perceive more than solely the missing arms and head on a Winged Victory statue. The fruits of liberty grow abundantly in this land, and we must remember these good fruits of liberty as we look back to the tree from whence they came. Elder Callister concludes his remarks with the rousing appeal: May we the people ever be grateful for God's hand in America's origin and destiny. May we the people never forget the divine masterpiece that it is. The Founding Fathers whom God raised up and the inspired principles underlined in our constitution. And may we the people always be a nation under God, not without God, thus meriting the promise of the scriptures, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" (Psalm 33:12). I resigned as a police officer and moved to a different state because I saw what our prosecutors and judges were doing in my jurisdiction. Straight up corrupt. (Washington state, Pierce County) . Moreover, the governor openly, to the state, made it clear (at the time of covid) that he put together a "highly trained" task force for contact tracing and would give affected residents two chances to deny them entering their homes. On the third attempt affected residents would have no choice. The task force would enter their homes without a warrant. That was it. We bailed.

Thank you for what you are doing by giving it your all. I can tell that you are doing that, by searching out and putting prophecies and teachings into context, and sometimes giving a different perspective on how things will unfold in the coming days. We must rely upon the Lord in faith that he will see us through. My husband is in the spirit world, and so I really know what it means to rely upon the Lord. He is taking very good care of me, as he will all of us who love him and follow him. Thank you for all that you do.
I think things are already a lot out of hand! However, as we help people come to Christ and follow the covenant path or even begin to understand that path we help save our brothers and sisters from the destruction that Satan has planned for them and us too if we don't do what we're supposed to. We are in the gathering stage now. Later will come the restitution stage where things will be returned and redeemed. Meanwhile we just have to be valiant and faithful to ourselves and others. I get tired of the Saints crying out, "conspiracy." The Book of Mormon is full of secret combinations, warnings of what to do and not to do. It is a mirror image of future events and has proven over time this is true. Please read, consider, and pray over this sacred Book and especially consider the Covenant of it and the Covenant of the land in which the people of the Book reside.

He is constantly expressing threatening rhetoric that has caused an increase in vile threats to so many. He is a convicted rapist, a chronic liar, and is dishonest in his business dealings. If you read President Nelson’s talk on “Peacemakers Needed”… I believe he is talking about Trump … Nelson says…” I am greatly concerned that so many people seem to believe that it is completely acceptable to condemn, malign, and vilify anyone who does not agree with them” In my opinion Trump is NOT a moral, decent person in any way, shape or form. He rubs shoulders with leaders who do not have the same values as America. Not to mention the 89 indictments against him.

Yes,we need to listen to our current, living Prophets, Seers and Revelators... They are generally optimistic, and instead of "doom and gloom" they teach us to create ZION in our own hearts, families, and Stakes and be the people who are ready and able to receive the Lord when He comes. The wards and stakes in some places are not doing enough. My stake has pretty much ZERO preparedness program. There are people in the wards who sometimes struggle a lot (not for lack of trying) but the bishops are not always willing to do much to help unless the person is brown or black. It's unfortunate that some bishops only judge by skin color and what the media says who are the needy people.
I guess you have never read the BOM? That is a very naive statement. We are to preach the gospel and because we live in the last days, we are required to be ready for war in any capacity.
Most latter day saints sit on their butts and don't get involved in righteous politics. They are waiting for the leaders to organize something, which they won't do because they are in bed with bankers, investors, and politicians, and the media likes to pick on the church. Members think God will do it or someone else will do it. The preaching of the word is important, but righteous politics is just as important at this time! Is the Constitution maybe showing up less frequent these days as we become more and more a worldwide Church versus an "American" church? Especially now that a quarter of the quorum of the 12 apostles are from outside the United States.
Jared, like you, I too take a very optimistic approach in relation to righteousness. I think there are many ways to build the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God needs a liberty loving land in which to survive. However, righteousness is a necessity for liberty. There's many who will help in their own way. When the Nephite society was growing wicked, Alma the younger decided to vacate the judgement seat, in Alma chapter 4. Alma kept the office of high priest and went to preach the gospel with the sons of Mosiah. Alma, who was the most politically powerful person, tells us why he made this choice. He also tells us how he planned to accomplish the work, as stated in Alma 4:19. He chose to bear pure testimony against the wicked. I've made it my goal to do exactly as Alma exemplified. I love hearing testimonies and bearing my own. I love answering questions that come with it. I only want to help increase the righteousness of this world. If you haven't read, "The Book of Mormon and The Constitution," by H. Verlan Andersen, you should. It puts our modern day spiritual warfare into perspective. Also, I shared another copy of The Book of Mormon with a friend who waits at the bus stop every morning with me. I was excited to tell him how Christ visited His other lost sheep in the Americas after His resurrection. #Flood the Earth
Perhaps this is just me, because I tend like you to think of small and simple things, and not necessarily massive miracles and paranormal things happening, but I believe strongly in the words from my favorite political person to listen to right now, Brion McClanahan, which are "think locally and act locally." Quit obsessing and worrying about all the things you can't control around the world and in national politics, and just run for office locally, and make sure you make yourself and everyone around you spiritually and physically self-reliant and spread the gospel through laws you pass and things you say. If as many as people as possible were this way, the feds and secret combinations couldn't do anything to control us. As Spencer W. Kimball once said, "We need to be less anti-kingdom of Satan and more pro-Kingdom of God" As for the 1940s, if you actually go back before that, you'll find President Grant warning people strongly that voting for FDR would bring about great corruption to the constitution and destruction to the US. As for J Reuben Clark, we have to also remember to be in the world but not of the world with our politics as well. Anyone from the church running for office, should be actually have very similar views on issues even if they're part of different parties because we shouldn't be affected by philosophies of men. Imagine if both people running for office were members who shared many of the same moral and constitutional views rather than them both being random candidates 1 and 2 who will fight for whatever their party says is correct. For a greater information on what we should look for in presidential candidates, we should be looking at people like John Tyler and Grover Cleveland and not TR, FDR, Kennedy, or basically just about any president from the last 100 years.
Oh, and don't be afraid to vote 3rd party, all arguments I've heard against this are all ridiculous and false fear mongering by people who often don't understand how the political system works.
I have heard in church that it is more important to stick to the scriptures, following the commandments and church callings there is no need to get involved with the world politics. This has made me frustrated. I feel we need to be involved in all forms whether it be school boards, city counsels, county supervisors, and even legislators. If we stand for the morals and values in the scriptures and are in leadership positions we can be a beckon to the world. There are some who were/are members of the church who are in the leadership role who do not stand as a beckon and the money talks to them more than morals or values and they side with those who are making poor decisions in our country. I would rather stand alone than follow the corrupt. Unfortunately our government has become a cult of the corrupt and those who go into politics and wont side with those who control the purse then they get pushed out quickly. I know so many members who dont know what is really going on in our world because they listen to CNN and MSNBC or othe news outlets...I believe in research, using discernment to sift through the swamp of corrupt ideas. Do I believe the constitution will be saved...not by members but by those Christians who are willing to stand up and try and fight to save it, there might be a few members but it wont be in Washington DC.
I’ve always heard the same thing. Ezra Taft Benson was U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. That’s a fairly high profile political position. I have served in my local politics and it is a great way to share truth and influence for good.

I am just now listening to this, even though it came out five days ago. I have only listened to the first five minutes, so I am sure that what I have to say may have already been said. But it is so fascinating that just a couple of days ago I had a conversation with my husband about this very thing I am taking a class on Lincoln for my masters class And I’ve just been in tears while I read the original works of Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, and the vice president of the confederate states, Alexander Stephens. The debates that were so hard to read, were those not recognizing that “all men were created equal“ which means that they have inherent rights that God has given each one of them, no matter the color of their skin. Douglas and Stephens continued to perpetuate the idea that, anyone who did not have white skin were inferior. You all know this, but our constitution, literally hung by a thread as the southern states were pulling away from the northern and the northern from the southern. Brother was fighting brother; son fighting father. Joseph Smith was the one that said this quote and I wonder if he was not prophesying about the Civil War and almost the destruction of the constitution.😮

We just started a UA-cam channel two weeks ago… like two days before you said you would interview women who start a channel. I don’t know if we qualify because we’re a husband and wife channel. We had been thinking of starting a channel for about 2 years and finally did it. Now that we finally did I’m wondering what took us so long. I've about given up on the Elders of this Church ever stepping up to do anything beyond lip service to save our Constitution. Many in the past who were on the front lines were framed, demonized and looked upon as apostates. Many left of their own accord to find support elsewhere. I know this firsthand because I and many friends were among them back in the 1970's/80's when Benson was President. Meanwhile, much progress has been made by our Christian brothers who value our heritage of freedom and have been carrying the load. I'm speaking of the ACLJ, WallBuilders, the Heritage Foundation and many others who have erected meaningful opposition to evil. The attitude of many, including leaders of this Church, has been to focus only upon building the Church kingdom of God while allowing continuing deterioration. I'm sorry to have to say that, but it is the reality of what I've seen firsthand over the past 50 years. We don't defend those who are on the front lines of the battle, rather we construct megastructures of education, Temples, volunteer training, and humanitarian services; all great P.R. vehicles to help magnify the inherent goodness and compassion within the hearts of men. In other words, we seek to show the world a better way, i.e. teach them correct principles and allow them to govern themselves. Only in that way will our Elders be looked upon as saviors of our Constitution. Our influence is the yeast that will eventually bring the world up to Christ's standard. This seems to be the Lord's pattern of leadership repeated again and again throughout scripture.
Bad mouthing our Church leaders isn’t going to help any of us either. Our Church leaders weren’t called to go to war, or to be politicians. They were called, set apart, and ordained to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the WHOLE WORLD. It is our job to do the same, yet we can also do our part as citizens of this United States to help our country along by getting involved politically on a grass roots level, by voting, by serving, by being good law abiding citizens. We can and need to be engaged in good causes. We do not need to blame our Church leaders for not doing what we think they should be doing. They have their callings, and will be held accountable for not doing them. We will be held accountable for judging them unrighteously. We will also be held accountable for our thoughts, words, and actions. So perhaps we should just get down in the trenches and do our own dirty work, rather than expecting them to do it for us.
We can do things ourselves. The church is primarily concerned with spreading the gospel. Nothing is stopping members from standing up for constitutional principles. Just make sure we don’t always make it us against them. That just leads to echo chambers on both sides.
I believe this prophecy was actually a false recollection of an actual quote by Joseph Smith. My ancestor is Theodore Turley and the prophecy which he supposedly corroborated came out after his death. Also, he left the church at the end of his life, so if it was during that time I wouldn't trust it either. He was a good man who loved the lord and the prophet Joseph. Joseph Smith did talk about the constitution, which has been quoted by prophets. I'd stick to those quotes.
How about the talks recently, especially by Elder Oaks and Elder Bednar about protecting religious freedom? I believe those messages are for us to step up and stand behind the constitution because that's where our freedom of religion stems from.
Yes! Most of the time I hear the "hang by a thread" quote its by members who are really saying "if you vote for the guy I support, you save the country, otherwise you are destroying the Constitution". Clearly, watching what the Apostles are actually saying, its the threat to religious freedom we need to watch for!

Looked up the quote by Ezra Taft Benson, as referred to below. He says that the constitution "will be saved by the citizens of this nation who love and cherish freedom. It will be saved by the enlightened members of this Church..." So I see it that members of the church will included in the citizens of this nation in saving the constitution.
The elders are very important, but it's good for everyone to remember that the majority of the Lord's work is being done by him outside of the church. He pierces through the mists of darkness to help bring people to a point where they might find the church. He creates a lot more righteousness through this process. He has servants elsewhere with less authority but often times more power due to their diligence.
I don't remember where I heard it (regional or women's conference maybe) but I remember being told that the women of the church need to teach our children the constitution. Have them memorize it. Teach them the Gospel principles connected to it.

My high school seminary teacher’s brother, who is probably in his 50s, has this phrase in his patriarchal blessing and he is a lawyer. It mentions he would help save the constitution as it hangs by a thread.
My neighbor is a judge and his patriarchal blessing says something similar.

Just a thought. Lorenzo Snow's blessing said he could transport his body to other worlds. Joseph Smiths said no weapon formed would harm him. Dozens of people were blessed by Joseph Smith Sr in the 1800s that they would be on the earth in the flesh at the time of the winding up scene. Fortune Tellers. What do you think a seer stone is? Have considered the talk by President Ezra Taft Benson at BYU in 1986. He cites the quote by Coray. Then he goes on to say that the good people of this country who love the constitution will save the constitution, (can't remember if he mentioned the elders of the church), and it won't come from Washington, DC?

In Ezra Taft Benson's 'Our Divine Constitution' in 1987, he states:
"Unfortunately, we as a nation have apostatized in various degrees from different Constitutional principles as proclaimed by the inspired founders. We are fast approaching that moment prophesied by Joseph Smith when he said: “Even this nation will be on the very verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground, and when the Constitution is upon the brink of ruin, this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean, and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction” (19 July 1840, as recorded by Martha Jane Knowlton Coray; ms. in Church Historian’s Office, Salt Lake City)."
What might, “Carrying it away” mean?
The church will be the staff that the nation will lean on. Think food.
But the early saints werent a fan of the constitution. Thats why they created their own government councils called the council of 50 where they anointed Joseph Smith as king and left the republic to form their own theocracy in Mexican territory. They thought they would convert the native Americans and join them in overthrowing the United States as part of the second coming. You can read Brigham Young's quote about this in the council of 50 minutes.
It has been hanging for decades. The thread is barely holding. But there are elders in even branch of government and alphabet agencies. Though corruption has infiltrated, so has righteousness at every level from sea to shining sea. In addition there are many righteous people not of our faith therein as well. It has been war there for…well…ever. But truth will prevail this time. The Lord will use the wicked to destroy the wicked. President Oaks and Elder Chrisofferson have spoken many times at many events, nationally and globally, to keep the light of freedom shining. Johnathon Kahn has done this also. Remember, there are times in Isaiah when Zion means the promised land-the United is a promised land. Here he has gathered many of the lost ten tribes, and now at the southern border, they hasten here by the millions each year. Many are the honest at heart. The Lord is gathering them to Zion, the New Jerusalem-this country where his church is headquartered and has been a place so feared that none have dared to attack this land of “peace.” The Lord will destroy the three Eagle heads shortly, and the body-the people- will be saved because the elect-the covenant keepers-will not falter. The feathers will no longer be overthrown by these evil heads. Christ will become our nation’s head soon. The destroying angel will pass over this nation, though it surely shall be cleansed more and more each day. Yes, evil abounds. But the Lord will prevail and after the full cleansing of the blood and sins of this generation, Zion will prosper. Put on thy beautiful garments, oh captive daughters of Zion! Let thy Light so shine…
This is just my opinion and ideas of man mingled with scripture.
But we are told in the last days a righteous remnant will flee to Zion. Whether that is talking about a remnant of the church itself or a remnant of the world population in general I don't know. But in Zion the saints will be protected and others outside of it will be afraid to go there. We know that the nation was divinely established to give a place for the restoration. I am also of the understanding that we also believe the constitution to be divinely inspired (we don't think it is perfect though). If so it would make sense to me for the saints, the elders, the priesthood, to have the constitution in force in Zion. So carried away to Zion the only place it will be used while everyone else is in total anarchy?
Saw where Utah national guard 300 strong left for Africa March 3. I know some of those are priesthood holders. What an opportunity to serve God and country.

This general principle resonates deeply in my soul. I am often telling my children that freedom is the ability to govern yourself, which necessitates righteousness. I give them freedom to govern themselves as long as certain conditions are met. If those conditions fail to be met consistently, then I step in and help guide them back to the path they need to be on. It’s all age-appropriate stuff. We homeschool, so things like basic daily hygiene, consistent efforts in their school work and goals they have set, daily chores, and being respectful to everyone else in the house are the conditions. As long as they are consistently meeting these expectations, I generally let them spend the remainder of their days working on their own projects unless we have plans outside of our typical schedule. If they have a passion, I generally believe that it’s something they may have been foreordained to do in this life. My 11 yr old has (for years, as long as he had started academics anyway) always been interested in space and in theoretical physics. He reads Einstein and Rovelli for fun! As long as he’s meeting the basic requirements, I let him extend his school day according to his interests, which often ends up in coding or other tech related topics. My middle is really into the hero stage. He loves learning about people who have changed the world, and the areas of influence tend to follow his hobbies so he can delve into that. My youngest is just starting to find his way outside of shadowing his brothers, and it’s so fun to see him explore hobbies and find what inspires him personally.
Politically, I feel it’s crucial for our nation to preserve religious freedom. I quite enjoy attending local multifaith events (especially if there’s a pot luck following 😊) because the Spirit is always so strong as each group shares something that inspires them. Hearing Muslim children sing a song listing the names of Allah, hearing someone share what they enjoy about a painting of a saint that hangs in their religious center, etc. So amazing. I highly recommend attending events like this in your area and making connections with your community. Jared, I love when you interview Rabbi Gershein! I pray for his safety and of his loved ones given the current state of the world. Save us, Lord!

I feel that the constitution is hanging by a thread, I feel the time of “it may or may not” has passed, we are there.
Also, knowing that the constitution is of God and is the constitution of Zion…also Joseph Smith referred to the US as the land of Zion brings new meaning to the scriptures that say “wo to those who say all is well in Zion” and “wo unto those who are at ease in Zion”.
I feel it’s saying that those who sit by and do nothing are those who are lulled into a carnal security, blinded by the devil, asleep, pacified, not willing to get out of their comfort zone to speak up or do something, complacent, idle and in denial of the danger that we are in or unwilling to do anything about it cause it’s too much work and/or too scary. We need to awaken to our awful situation as spoken in Ether chapter 8…the Lord COMMANDS us to not let the secret combination get above us and the scriptures say this secret combination seeks to take away the freedom of ALL nations for power and gain! It’s not hard to figure out what it happening right now if you actually prayerfully study The Book of Mormon!

I believe the scriptures that talk about how Christopher Columbus, the pilgrims, and others were guided by the hand of The Lord in The work that each of them did. I believe our founding fathers were guided in writing the constitution, declaration of independence and other important documents.
For a long time, our country has been more blessed than other countries, because of the freedoms we have been given through His guiding hand.
The problem now is that we as a country are choosing Him less and less.
We are becoming as other countries He helped in the past- that have turned away from Him.
I don’t know if The United States of America will still exist when Jesus Christ comes.
I don’t think His coming is far away.
I do know that most people can look around and see clearly that we are no longer United- the part that is most important to our Father in Heaven.

In the Journal of Discourses 2:182 Brigham Young said, “…when the Constitution of the United States hangs, as it were, upon a single thread, they will have to call for the “Mormon” Elders to save it from utter ; and they will step forth and do it.” Was that his opinion or was it a prophecy?
The missionaries have given me 1 copy of the Book of mormon. That is all they had to spare. I hope they get more. At least with this one more Book of mormon I will have reached my goal of 10. I am having trouble with password and I don't have a phone number to place it through the app. They need to send me a code and I no longer have those phone #s to get the code to give it back to them. The United States government is not a direct democracy, it is a Republic.
A democracy is a system where the power to make policy comes directly or indirectly from the people. We, in the U.S., we're not a direct democracy - which is like where everybody votes on every piece of legislation. We vote to choose our elected officials and we trust they will do that on our behalf. Now, a republic is a system where elected officials make the rules, versus being born into power like a monarchy.
That is why it is very important to vote and to choose for elected officials that are honorable, God fearing people that will uphold and support the American Constitution.
During the presidential meeting inauguration, the president of the United States will solemnly swear to the following:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Some skeptics today like to argue that the founding fathers purposefully left God out of the Constitution. They say that a “Godless Constitution” was the intended design of the document-and they’re wrong.
First of all, the authors of the Constitution not only mention God, they even mention that Jesus is God. They do this in the ratification clause. This was done “in the Year of Our Lord” 1787.
God has blessed the United States of America immensely and will continue to bless the people of this nation insofar as we honor and worship Him. The Constitution now serves as a model for freedom-loving nations across the globe. As we contemplate our nation’s history, it is vital that we perceive more than solely the missing arms and head on a Winged Victory statue. The fruits of liberty grow abundantly in this land, and we must remember these good fruits of liberty as we look back to the tree from whence they came.
Elder Callister concludes his remarks with the rousing appeal:
May we the people ever be grateful for God's hand in America's origin and destiny. May we the people never forget the divine masterpiece that it is. The Founding Fathers whom God raised up and the inspired principles underlined in our constitution. And may we the people always be a nation under God, not without God, thus meriting the promise of the scriptures, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" (Psalm 33:12).
When we vote this year for a new president, let's choose a God fearing man that will fight for our freedom, that will uphold the American Constitution, that will not be subject to the evil and the corruption that has infiltrated our government.
It is time to clean the house and to restore order. God bless this land and nation so that our grandchildren will be able to prosper and live in peace.

I resigned as a police officer and moved to a different state because I saw what our prosecutors and judges were doing in my jurisdiction. Straight up corrupt. (Washington state, Pierce County) . I can tell that you are doing that, by searching out and putting prophecies and teachings into context, and sometimes giving a different perspective on how things will unfold in the coming days. We must rely upon the Lord in faith that he will see us through. My husband is in the spirit world, and so I really know what it means to rely upon the Lord. He is taking very good care of me, as he will all of us who love him and follow him. Thank you for all that you do.
I think things are already a lot out of hand! However, as we help people come to Christ and follow the covenant path or even begin to understand that path we help save our brothers and sisters from the destruction that Satan has planned for them and us too if we don't do what we're supposed to. It is a mirror image of future events and has proven over time this is true. The wards and stakes in some places are not doing enough. My stake has pretty much ZERO preparedness program. There are people in the wards who sometimes struggle a lot (not for lack of trying) but the bishops are not always willing to do much to help unless the person is brown or black. It's unfortunate that some bishops only judge by skin color and what the media says who are the needy people.
You need to do more than that. We don’t need to be told what to do?

Most latter day saints sit on their butts and don't get involved in righteous politics. They are waiting for the leaders to organize something, which they won't do because they are in bed with bankers, investors, and politicians, and the media likes to pick on the church. Members think God will do it or someone else will do it. The preaching of the word is important, but righteous politics is just as important at this time! The KINGDOM OF GOD (as our early mormon church leaders knew) has a POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC ARM. Not just spiritual.

Is the Constitution maybe showing up less frequent these days as we become more and more a worldwide Church versus an "American" church? Especially now that a quarter of the quorum of the 12 apostles are from outside the United States.
A friend told me his political party is "Christian". I decided I am joining that party.

I think there are many ways to build the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God needs a liberty loving land in which to survive. However, righteousness is a necessity for liberty. There's many who will help in their own way.
When the Nephite society was growing wicked, Alma the younger decided to vacate the judgement seat, in Alma chapter 4. Alma kept the office of high priest and went to preach the gospel with the sons of Mosiah. Alma, who was the most politically powerful person, tells us why he made this choice. He also tells us how he planned to accomplish the work, as stated in Alma 4:19. He chose to bear pure testimony against the wicked.
I've made it my goal to do exactly as Alma exemplified. I love hearing testimonies and bearing my own. I love answering questions that come with it. I only want to help increase the righteousness of this world. I want to give people an outlet to share their testimony through my UA-cam channel if they choose.

Perhaps this is just me, because I tend like you to think of small and simple things, and not necessarily massive miracles and paranormal things happening, but I believe strongly in the words from my favorite political person to listen to right now, Brion McClanahan, which are "think locally and act locally." Quit obsessing and worrying about all the things you can't control around the world and in national politics, and just run for office locally, and make sure you make yourself and everyone around you spiritually and physically self-reliant and spread the gospel through laws you pass and things you say. If as many as people as possible were this way, the feds and secret combinations couldn't do anything to control us. As Spencer W. Kimball once said, "We need to be less anti-kingdom of Satan and more pro-Kingdom of God"
As for the 1940s, if you actually go back before that, you'll find President Grant warning people strongly that voting for FDR would bring about great corruption to the constitution and destruction to the US.
As for J Reuben Clark, we have to also remember to be in the world but not of the world with our politics as well. Anyone from the church running for office, should be actually have very similar views on issues even if they're part of different parties because we shouldn't be affected by philosophies of men. Imagine if both people running for office were members who shared many of the same moral and constitutional views rather than them both being random candidates 1 and 2 who will fight for whatever their party says is correct.
For a greater information on what we should look for in presidential candidates, we should be looking at people like John Tyler and Grover Cleveland and not TR, FDR, Kennedy, or basically just about any president from the last 100 years.
Oh, and don't be afraid to vote 3rd party, all arguments I've heard against this are all ridiculous and false fear mongering by people who often don't understand how the political system works.
So the way the elders are going to save the constitution is by preaching the gospel.
I have heard in church that it is more important to stick to the scriptures, following the commandments and church callings there is no need to get involved with the world politics. This has made me frustrated. I feel we need to be involved in all forms whether it be school boards, city counsels, county supervisors, and even legislators. If we stand for the morals and values in the scriptures and are in leadership positions we can be a beckon to the world. There are some who were/are members of the church who are in the leadership role who do not stand as a beckon and the money talks to them more than morals or values and they side with those who are making poor decisions in our country. I would rather stand alone than follow the corrupt.
Unfortunately our government has become a cult of the corrupt and those who go into politics and wont side with those who control the purse then they get pushed out quickly.
I know so many members who dont know what is really going on in our world because they listen to CNN and MSNBC or othe news outlets...I believe in research, using discernment to sift through the swamp of corrupt ideas.

I am just now listening to this, even though it came out five days ago. I have only listened to the first five minutes, so I am sure that what I have to say may have already been said. But it is so fascinating that just a couple of days ago I had a conversation with my husband about this very thing I am taking a class on Lincoln for my masters class And I’ve just been in tears while I read the original works of Lincoln, Stephen Douglas, and the vice president of the confederate states, Alexander Stephens. The debates that were so hard to read, were those not recognizing that “all men were created equal“ which means that they have inherent rights that God has given each one of them, no matter the color of their skin. Douglas and Stephens continued to perpetuate the idea that, anyone who did not have white skin were inferior. You all know this, but our constitution, literally hung by a thread as the southern states were pulling away from the northern and the northern from the southern. Brother was fighting brother; son fighting father. Joseph Smith was the one that said this quote and I wonder if he was not prophesying about the Civil War and almost the destruction of the constitution.😮

We had been thinking of starting a channel for about 2 years and finally did it. Now that we finally did I’m wondering what took us so long. It seemed like a daunting task, but we should have just started then.
So I agree with you, Jared. If anyone is thinking about doing it, just do it. The hardest part was honestly recording our first video because of the doubt inside our heads that if it was horrible then we would have to admit we’re losers. It’s crazy how much we can doubt ourselves and get into our own head when that’s not reality.

I've about given up on the Elders of this Church ever stepping up to do anything beyond lip service to save our Constitution. Many in the past who were on the front lines were framed, demonized and looked upon as apostates. Many left of their own accord to find support elsewhere. I know this firsthand because I and many friends were among them back in the 1970's/80's when Benson was President. Meanwhile, much progress has been made by our Christian brothers who value our heritage of freedom and have been carrying the load. I'm speaking of the ACLJ, WallBuilders, the Heritage Foundation and many others who have erected meaningful opposition to evil. The attitude of many, including leaders of this Church, has been to focus only upon building the Church kingdom of God while allowing continuing deterioration.
I'm sorry to have to say that, but it is the reality of what I've seen firsthand over the past 50 years. We don't defend those who are on the front lines of the battle, rather we construct megastructures of education, Temples, volunteer training, and humanitarian services; all great P.R. vehicles to help magnify the inherent goodness and compassion within the hearts of men. In other words, we seek to show the world a better way, i.e. teach them correct principles and allow them to govern themselves. Only in that way will our Elders be looked upon as saviors of our Constitution. Our influence is the yeast that will eventually bring the world up to Christ's standard. This seems to be the Lord's pattern of leadership repeated again and again throughout scripture.
Bad mouthing our Church leaders isn’t going to help any of us either. Our Church leaders weren’t called to go to war, or to be politicians. They were called, set apart, and ordained to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the WHOLE WORLD. It is our job to do the same, yet we can also do our part as citizens of this United States to help our country along by getting involved politically on a grass roots level, by voting, by serving, by being good law abiding citizens. We can and need to be engaged in good causes. We do not need to blame our Church leaders for not doing what we think they should be doing. They have their callings, and will be held accountable for not doing them. We will be held accountable for judging them unrighteously. We will also be held accountable for our thoughts, words, and actions. So perhaps we should just get down in the trenches and do our own dirty work, rather than expecting them to do it for us.
Trust me buddy our church leaders are doing all they are told to do to prepare. The Lords ways are not our ways. A very close minded comment.
We can do things ourselves. The church is primarily concerned with spreading the gospel. Nothing is stopping members from standing up for constitutional principles. Just make sure we don’t always make it us against them. That just leads to echo chambers on both sides.
White Horse Prophecy
I believe this prophecy was actually a false recollection of an actual quote by Joseph Smith. My ancestor is Theodore Turley and the prophecy which he supposedly corroborated came out after his death. Also, he left the church at the end of his life, so if it was during that time I wouldn't trust it either. He was a good man who loved the lord and the prophet Joseph. Joseph Smith did talk about the constitution, which has been quoted by prophets. I'd stick to those quotes.
