Awesome 90s alternative rock music! MTV isn't like this anymore. Now it's Teen Mom, sitcoms about high schoolers wanting to achieve eternal popularity, and Jersey Shore clones.

Real World is still going strong after almost 20 years. Obviously people enjoy watching it.
It's one thing to lament the loss of MTV's original format of music videos 24/7 but you can't completely discount the popularity of it's longest-running shows.
