    I like those lens covers, I have managed to scratch every optic I have ever owned. Everything from an xps3 to my delta point. It makes sense to to have a sacrificial lens cover that can be replaced.

    The window ratio is about the same between AEMS and the 510/512, it's just that it's smaller overall by about .1" both directions. I definitely DO prefer the windows size on the 510/512 AND their clarity. AEMS is just not as clear. I am only picking up the AEMS instead of the 512 because I want LOW mounted red dot on my PCC and the AEMS is just smaller in general. I think 512 is HUGE for a PCC. By the way, your outro music is WAY too loud when compared to your voice. Please normalize the volume. Thank you for this content, is was very helpful.

    Thanks for this. So far the 512c is looking like a superior option for me. My only hesitation is the detachable lenses, they seem like a really good option for the gun I want to use this optic on, something kept in a traveling bag.

      @@citizensurvivalplan Yeah absolutely. Pretty much the only thing making me hesitate getting the 512c, and the AEMS detachable lenses seem like a good long term investment.

    The quick detach mounts are good for speed but theyre not good at return to zero. The ratched mount for the aems is better at return to zero. Just an fyi for anyone reading and weighing their preferences.

    Lower 1/3 co-witness is for the ability to zero your red dot and iron sights at different distances. Absolute co-witness you have to zero both your red dot and iron sights at the same distance. It's operator choice. I'm retired LEO & a hunter and I prefer lower 1/3. I'll zero my red dot at 36 yards = 300 yards and zero my irons at 50 yards= 200 yards

    • @professorx7398

    • @douglascuvillyed.s8211
      @douglascuvillyed.s8211 26 днів тому

      36 yards is a great choice for zeroing. The research I've done states you're good from 36 yards to 400 yards with about a 10 inch spread on a torso. That seems like it owns over everything else for 5.56

    • @vegasranger
      @vegasranger 26 днів тому

      @@douglascuvillyed.s8211 36 gets great overall coverage. 50 to 200 is only 3-4 inch diameter spread. So you can put the red dot center mass and reliably hit your target. Any wind up to 10mph doesn't really affect 556 round to much up to 100 yards. A lot of people believe the co-witness is for if power is loss to your optic. Thats why a lot of LEO or military run Scalarworks mounts. The mount bolt is hand tightened and can be removed with no tools. They're expensive mounts but well worth the price in quality.

    • @citizensurvivalplan
      @citizensurvivalplan  9 місяців тому +1

      I can look into this but honestly. It's never anything that's been an issue with using any of the sights I put the dot on things I want to hit and go. Going at angles or anything I've never experienced any issues with parallax problems.

    • @jakedow4641
      @jakedow4641 9 місяців тому

      Yeah if you have good shooting technique, parallax isn’t that important. I just figured I’m considering buying an eotech or one of these sights with wider field of view for the quicker target acquisition they provide.
      I’m currently using a Romeo5 and the parallax is very noticeable.

    I have an aems and debating on another or the 512c. I just feel like the 512c would be tougher since it is lower on the gun less snags. Any opinions on snagging/ toughness of the 2?

    • @citizensurvivalplan
      @citizensurvivalplan  8 місяців тому +1

      I have not had an issue with snagging the sight on rigs /clothing at all but i will kinda of agree the 512 seems to be a more robust design. One thing about the 512 I do not bring up in the video but i will cover soon is running the holosun magnifier with the 512 is more difficult because of its larger size when you have back up iron sights and the 512 on there is not enugh room for the magnifier. the AEMS solves this problem.

  • @roady7420
    @roady7420 10 місяців тому

    The ames doesn’t give up anything on FOV. I will say it has replaced an aimpoint T2 on my SP5. The other thing is both of the other sights have open emitters that’s a huge thing in real life as guns get really dirty being at a match or in the field. You can get a different base height for the AMES while I disagree about absolute co-witness you can get that height. I only disagree because the cheap availability of night vision is really happening after 20 years and absolute co witness is an idea from early 2000’s with most people now increasing the height above 1/3 co witness.
