Congrats on the new LSG offset! She is a beauty! A lot of that build up around the lid is creosote buildup. I never touch mine. That's actually what creates a good seal as it's heating up. Mine is 5 years old, and I have never had rust in that area. The scratches on the off road package happen to mine as well. I wish they would use some sort of center bearing that would tighten up snugly to prevent the two metal surfaces from ever rubbing against each other, similar to a wheel bearing on a vehicle. Not a game changer but something I noticed as well. New sub here!
Glad to have you Rus! 🙏🏿👊🏿💯💯 That's actually a good point about the seal.. I also don't touch it, mainly because I wouldn't want to peel off the paint or something, but as you said none of those things are big and visually it still looks great. And yes your pit always looks like new in your videos. 👍🏿💯💯
This is such a fantastic video, you're very well spoken and I enjoyed it thoroughly! I'm going to join the LSG family soon and your videos have been awesome! You have a new sub, sir!

Those scars give it character, brother. Perhaps a magnetic hook from Harbor Freight (or wherever) on your stack would hold your handle for the wagon. Would definitely love to see this thing running with some digital probes inside to see the evenness of the temps.
Yep, those are my war wounds... I've seen a couple people use the magnets and some just use a bungee hook tie and a tennis ball. Since mine never moves I just take mine off and store it in my tool shed. Keep your eye out I just may do that temp test soon!✌🏿👊🏿💯💯

Wonderful 8 month review brother. I really enjoyed following the comprehensive review. I’m on month 4 now and as you mentioned, it’s pretty much flawless. Just subbed! I’m looking forward to checking out the awesome cooks you do in the future. Have a great weekend!

Man I appreciate you trusting me to take you on this journey! You'll definitely be happy with your purchase.. this dam thang dam near cooks itself. When did you order??
Your pit still looking showroom new.👍 I'm just over 5 years on mine. I no longer use the tuning plates I have them stacked on top of each other pushed tight against the fire box (better smoke flavor IMO). I use the charcoal basket when using my warmer oven like a drum smoker. The fire will jump across the divider plate so I use my basket by filling the basket with charcoal and wood chunks then I dump a 1/2 chimney full in the center and the fire burns outward (minion method). I'll get about 10 hours on a 1/2 basket full. The front shelf is not deep enough wish I had ordered it deeper 14". The fire management box is a winner IMO. I have yet to use water in the main cook chamber either. Mine was shipped to Southern Az. via UPS Freight, great service. Bottomline I'm still loving my LSG 24" offset with Warming Oven. I have the LSG 48" Santa Maria with side mounted brasero on my bucket list 😁
Thanks Sir!! I'm with you I love this dam thing.. talk about a good use of spare time..smh. A friend of mine recently did a video showing the same thing that he likes the way his LSG ran without the tuning plates, on the videos it looked more smokey if that makes sense. I also want that Santa Maria grill out here with weather like ours I feel like we cab really get the most put of a cooker like that and it just feels right in the SouthWest 🤷🏿♂️. I start my overnight cook in about 3 hours using the charcoal basket.. wish me luck!✌🏿👊🏿💯💯
Also thanks for that feedback about the divider plates, I thought that might happen so when I was just filling up my basket I only took it to about halfway with charcoal and buried my wood chunks. Hopefully I get a good, clean slow burn..
After watching your review and your other BBQ vids, makes me want a LSG 24 × 40 of the exact same model even more, unfortunately it's not in my budget yet, so my weber does all the work until I get my own LSG someday. Thank you for this video. I purchased my LSG in June 2021 and received it in November. I have the 30" vertical offset. I have it close around 7 months and so far I have not cooked on it. I seasoned it and made many plans to cook, but just haven't had the time. You videos are inspiring me to get back out there and get to smoking. Thanks
Heeeeeeyyyyyy no problem, thabks for checking it out. 🙏🏿👊🏿💯💯 If there is one thing that I do well, it's coaching and providing positive reinforcement and encouragement!💯💯 We absolutely must get you out there to break in that pit! What made you pull back from smoking? Weather?
This video changed my mind. Old lady hit at the casino and my half I was going to buy the Yoder loaded Wichita but I think the fire box has won me over
What up Mike... you lucky dog! That's cool you bout to get your new grill on the house!! Better cook the lady a great meal... Yoder def makes some great grills and I'm sure you'd be good with that as well. But I love my LSG, it's literally my favorite thing to cook on. 💯💯
Great review man. I’ve had mine for a year and love it. Looking forward to that charcoal basket video. I also have one and never used it. Keep it up man

Great video. With the hustle and bustle living hear on the east coast in the DMV I went with the 20x42 LSG pellet smoker. Should have mine by the fall.

Can you tell I haven't hand washed a car in awhile? Lol one of the things I do miss about the Midwest. Catch you on Sunday with another one.. should be a interesting one 👀💯💯
Great review! I’m part of the LSG family. Have a 20 x 36.. I’m at approximately 8-9 months of ownership. So far so good. But I’m in NY.. you made me feel I should have gotten the thicker firebox. I do cook in cold 🥶 temps. I figured the 1/4 inch firebox would be much better than my chargriller. I had previously. But oh well 🤷🏾♂️.
Thx for watching James.. Happy 4th!! Like you said it will be a mean step up from the char griller and I bet you'll still be good. Even at a 1/4 inch its still pretty heavy duty!! Keep smoking bro!! ✌🏿👊🏿💯💯
Don’t have the Beautiful LSG like you, but am like you and Love the Fire Management and the results of Stick Burnin’!! With that thick Firebox and Arizona heat (I’m in Florida) what wood species, moisture content, and size are you using for a 250 deg cook? How often are you adding splits? Thanks for the review!
I use mainly Pecan, oak , and mesquite..Mesquite... full splits, and I add a split about every 45 min to an 1hour. I don't quite know the moisture content but it's low.. this wood has been seasoned before I bought it then sitting out here in our dry heat can actually season wood faster than like the Midwest or somewhere like that because of our conditions.
@@KillerMillerQue where do you get Pecan? It’s my favorite but doesn’t grow here in central Fl. Have to get at Academy Sports(kiln dried). I’m guessing mesquite grows there along with oak?
Thanks Chris, appreciate you checking it out.👊🏿If I was in the middle I'd go big. For me this was plenty big, I can get quite a bit on there now, the other thing is I don't love the double doors personally. The one thing that might had me was the thought of me being able to do a whole hog on the pit (I've never done one before🤷🏿♂️) but while im sure its big enough id imagine it would be a nightmare getting it in and out with the double doors.
Beautiful grill, mine is on order, should get in the fall! Is it mineral oil that you use to make it so shiny? Also looking forward for July 4th cook with charcoal management basket!
Hey what's up Paul! Thx for checking out my review 👊🏿💯 I think this is my first time seeing you comment so hopefully you subscribed so you can keep up with the new videos each Sunday. Yes I have a cleaning and maintenance video in my playlist as well that goes over my process when I deep clean check that out. That Mineral oil is like liquid gold, it slides on so smooth and it doesn't take much but it definitely gives my pits a great finish and it protects them!! Definitely check back Sunday morning I'm about to start my overnight cook with the charcoal basket in about 4 hrs.. should be good!! ✌🏿👍🏿💯💯
My experience with LSG on my 20x42 was a painless experience. I've had my 20x42 for 8 months, too. However, the shipping company pissed me off to no end! Somehow 3 big ass bolts got dropped into the top of the crate and scraped the hell out of the top of the pit. When I saw that, it made me sick to my stomach. That being said, I contacted Chris and he rushed out some paint and sandpaper. Even still, you pay all that money, you expect it to arrive in pristine condition.
That might have broke me.... like you said when you pay this much for a grill you want it to be flawless. I told you I was disgusted just for my lil bit of lines from overspending. How did it look after your touch up?
@@KillerMillerQue It looks pretty good after I sanded and painted. I wasn't able to get it back to showroom condition, though. But it looks a hell of a lot better than before the repair. I slowly have learned to live with it and resigned to the fact that is what makes the pit my very own.
Another great video Joe! Have you tried your pit without tuning plates? I have a LSG 20x36 offset and a LSG 20x36 pellet both delivered on the same day last September 9th. Yes, both delivered on the same day pretty wild. You have a lot of good comments wrt your pit which also looks great. I almost went with that one but "normally" it is just my wife and I. I would like to see LSG send a email for customer comments after you have had your pit for 6 months. Hopefully they maintain their quality and workmanship, I know I enjoy mine but there are small things I would change. I would like to see them do something with the proximity of the lid handle to the shelf, it is way too close and is an easy change on mine. Thx again for sharing your video, keep them coming.
So far from from what I've seem an heard LSG has always addressed every problem I wonder if they'll address the charcoal management basket I have avideo coming out tomorrow on it and it's the first feature that I felt could use some innovativation. Be sure to check back in the am!!👀👀👊🏿💯
Congrats on the gorgeous pit. I'm also an LSGer since 2012. The Snaking Charcoal basket is the one failed product IMO that they should stop offering. It never works as designed. all the coals will eventually light up together since the plate isn't anough of a barrier to prevent the heat from lighting the other side. I also can tell this isn't your first rodeo pit. Many folks do not remove the firebox grilling grate when not grilling.
Thanks Haniel. I think this the first time getting to chat with you be sure and subscribe I love talking shop with my LSG fam👊🏿💯... now onto that charcoal basket. As promised I'm in the middle of an experiment now using my basket for the first time. I figured that I shouldn't fill it too high because I figured the flame would jump over and ignite the rest of the coals so I went with about half way (high) to try and combat it. You'll see on the video I post tomorrow my Temps were pretty high at first and I had to keep it choked down the whole time not to be 300-350+. I made it work but I definitely see your point. Check back in the am for the full report/video!✌🏿👊🏿💯💯
What's up Jeffrey.. I chose the Lone Star because I liked the overall look, quality, and the craftsmanship was something I felt comfortable with. Everything about this pit is heavy duty yet clean and appealing to the eye. Also as I researched I always heard they had great customer service and people generally were blown away once they actually received their pit by the craftsmanship and make of it. Lastly there's a lot of cooking features I like that I get with my LSG offset.. and I couldn't find one I liked better.. 🤷🏿♂️
Great video I have the 20 by 42 love it
Thx Craig.. glad you checked it out.👊🏿💯 that LSG is no joke for sure!💯💯

@eddogg805 gotcha.. yea I still love it too.. I've learned once you get it hoing.. it doesn't take much wood to maintain temps
@Killer Miller Que
You definitely right about that...
I think i over think it to when it come to temperature ...

I'll get about 10 hours on a 1/2 basket full.
The front shelf is not deep enough wish I had ordered it deeper 14".
The fire management box is a winner IMO.
I have yet to use water in the main cook chamber either.

Nice review and a nice smoker,
You could probably hit that door lip with some steel wool and oil lightly,
Thx Boss!👊🏿 Appreciate you checking it out!💯
My experience with LSG on my 20x42 was a painless experience.
@@cyberbeer65 yep... it's just a war wound.. Smoke on!!✌🏿👊🏿💯💯
Another great video Joe!
Thx for checking me out Michael!👍🏿👊🏿💯
Can I ask why you picked lone star for a off set ?
What's up Jeffrey.. I chose the Lone Star because I liked the overall look, quality, and the craftsmanship was something I felt comfortable with. Everything about this pit is heavy duty yet clean and appealing to the eye. Also as I researched I always heard they had great customer service and people generally were blown away once they actually received their pit by the craftsmanship and make of it. Lastly there's a lot of cooking features I like that I get with my LSG offset.. and I couldn't find one I liked better.. 🤷🏿♂️
Chào bạn một ngày tốt lành bạn chế lò nướng xinh đẹp rất hoàn hảo
Thx for watching!!✌🏿👍🏿💯💯
