    I have a LSG 24X48 single door offset w/ the counter weight and a 1/2" fire box... It"s a GREAT cooker! I really only cook for my family and a few friends (6-12 people), but still wish I would have got the 60". I do occasionally cook for larger parties and the 48 handles it easily, but I love to have plenty of room!

    I have owned the 24" Vertical since 2010. I purchased the 1/2" firebox upgrade and have done a cook in 30 deg weather. The pit never missed a beat. I am 6'3" and the pit is noticeably taller then me. Mine has two 5" smoke stacks. and gas assisted log lighter as well.

      The 24” Vertical looks like a killer smoker and the dual exhaust really stands out as a nice feature. Thanks for watching!

    The new LSG fire management box accessory is a simple miracle and helps get the smokers up to temp quickly

    LSG's are made even better when you use their Fire Management Boxes for wood inside them

      Everyone should have the opportunity to cook on one of these bad boys. It’s an honor to wield this much metal.

    Good video! One thing though: I thought the wheel size represents each wheel's diameter and not the radius; if so the overall smoker height difference between the 5" wheel and 8" wheel would be 1 1/2" instead of 3". The height difference is determined by the radius difference, not the diameter difference.

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  4 роки тому

      I just know there's a 5" wheel package and an 8" wheel package. We have the 8", and it makes this difficult enough to get the doors all the way open that I wanted to point out the difference for anyone who's thinking about buying it. When it comes to radius and diameter, feel free to check with the good people over at Lone Star Grillz for detailed information.

      My bad. Your video statements were right, and my previous comment was totally wrong. Please belay my last. 3" it is. Thanks

    Have the same grill. Works great the both times I used it. Unfortunately now it's Just sitting outside now as an expensive ornament due to a tragic loss.

    What helps make a well sealed offset smoker efficient on fuel? Honest question

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  4 роки тому +1

      It’s the fact that the firebox is double walled and insulated, so it’s much easier to keep the firebox at the temperature you desire. If the firebox is 1/4 in steel covered in 2in. of insulation, then covered in another 1/4in of steel, that’s a lot of metal that’s super hot and holding that heat. It burns less fuel because it doesn’t need as much fuel to maintain that temperature. At least, that’s how I understand it.

  • @rez667

    Probably won't answer this.. But how many briskets can you cook at once on this? I am ready to order one, but I need to be able to do at least 4 on the main bottom racks at once.

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  3 роки тому +1

      You can easily fit 2 briskets on each bottom rack, for a total of 4 on bottom and another 4 on top. Could you fit 4 briskets on 1 lower rack? I don’t know, I haven’t tried getting it that full. I’d suggest that you give Chris a call over at Lone Star Grillz and chat with him personally. There’s nobody who knows his grills better than him, and I’m sure he could give you the info you’re looking for.

    Must be the angle but that doesn’t look like a 2” thick insulated box.

  • @cxkelley
    @cxkelley 4 роки тому

    So the main lower racks are 24x48 each? So two(2) 24x48 main racks? What is the upper racks measured (individually)? Thank you for your time I have to buy this one!

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  4 роки тому +1

      There are 2 main doors on this unit, and 2 shelves per door for a total of 4 shelves. There is a divider in the middle, so the cooking chamber is 24x48 with 4 shelves inside. You can check out lonestargrillz.com for more info.

    Thanks again; I really enjoy this video, but I have another question. You said the standard firebox weighs 995 pounds; trying to figure this statement out, since you say the entire unit weighs 1100 pounds. Do you mean maybe a unit with the standard firebox weighs 995 pounds? Thanks

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  4 роки тому

      Yes, the standard firebox version weighs 995 pounds. The insulated firebox weighs about 100 lbs more, which is the one we have in the video here.

    • @tokenfatfriend68
      @tokenfatfriend68 4 роки тому

      The Barbecue Lab if you do the math there’s no way it ways 995 pounds. Sorry.
