the point of low profile keyboard is not to reduce its space on the desk (who ever thought that?) It's that lower profile is more comfortable for fingers to move over the keyboard and the angle on your wrist is less steep. I think those are very important things.

@@DarkoPetreski No, it's for comfort. Some extra height doesn't take up more space on a desk. Extra width does. Anyhow, it seems that he doesn't get the point of the keyboard. While there's a TKL version right now, the point of this keyboard wasn't to minimize the space used. The point of this keyboard was to deliver a great wireless low-profile keyboard. And not only did they deliver, it's also one of the best low-profile mechanical keyboards around.

Fun fact: the feet that fold out on keyboards are meant to help typist who don’t blind type to see the keys better, not for wrist ergonomics.
They were made in an era of typists who learned on typewriters, but are all retired at this point, so we should get rid of them, as they’re bad for your wrists.

It’s the best keyboard I have used so far as someone who is a fan of low profile. I’ve had 0 issues. I personally don’t get any delay on the volume scroll wheel. I'll go as for to say that I really like the volume wheel. Also a note for potential buyers: I got the clicky version and do not usually prefer loud clicks. I spend roughly 8hrs a day on pc with this keyboard. And the battery is top tier. I can go about a week on full backlight, about 14 days on medium backlight and a month without a backlight.
Apart from it being mechanical and having an amazing battery lifetime, the volume controls come in really handy. Also the build is not plastic. It's full metal.

I bought a Logitech G19 ten years ago, and it cost way more than I was comfortable with. If it had been today, the price would have been around the G915 mark, so I don't think it's gotten that much worse since the end of 2009. I bought it then because I liked the feel of the keys compared to every other keyboard I tested, and it had great reviews. Today the space bar broke, and it has been used heavily for all those years for gaming and writing. RIP Logitech G19. You've been a faithful companion, and well worth the price.

While this board is indeed insanely expensive, I am pretty blown away by it. Just got one a few days ago, and coming from cherry mx reds on my HyperX Alloy Elite RGB, I absolutely love the GL Linear/ Kailh linear switches. They are so quite, extremely fast and smooth. The keyboard is so ridiculously thin and the keys are really fast to actuate. My movement in game has definitely gotten better vs mx reds.
My volume wheel doesn't have the issues Dmitry described in the video. The windows volume doesn't lag behind when I scroll it, and to me the wheel feels better than what I've used in the past on the hyperx board and K70 boards.
I charged it to 100% when I got it, and its been 4 days with a few hours of gaming per day and its still at 90%. This is with RGB color wave on too. The keyboard has power saving that turns the LEDs off after a few minutes of inactivity, and puts the board to sleep after a while.
Its definitely expensive, but its like the perfect keyboard for me. Allows me to couch game when I want to. And it looks gorgeous. I also prefer full sized. I'd say if the G915 drops down to like $170, then thats a good deal. At $250 I'd wait on a sale.

Basically, Romer Gs were switches designed to prioritize RGB lighting above all else, which is why Romer Gs are among the only mechanical switches that have center-keycap lighting. Unfortunately, this apparently came with some compromises in feel.
Personally, I would vastly prefer a decent membrane keyboard than a Romer G, but like I said, this is all very subjective. If you tried out a ton of keyboards and found yourself loving Romer Gs, then that's all you need to know. There isn't an objective right answer for everyone.

    • @dragoonsunite
      @dragoonsunite 4 роки тому +11

Yeah I mean, really the issue here isn't that they're over-charging, it's that the entire Keyboard market is pathetic, and thus logitech can ask for whatever it wants if it offers a high speed, reasonably weighted, mechanical keyboard, with wireless, RGB, and low profile, including a keypad.
That's it, it's a complete feature set, NO OTHER KEYBOARD MANUFACTURER OFFERS IT. So it's worth the price by definition since it's the only option for someone looking for a no compromise experience. Could it be done for less? Absolutely, but clearly the R&D departments at Razor and all the other companies have their heads shoved so far up their own asses they are incapable of figuring out how to offer it, so Logitech wins by default no matter what price point they put on their hardware.
I bought it just because it's the first keyboard to offer all the features I want in one package, the closest one before this was the G613, which didn't have backlighting at all making it hard to use at night, was too thick, making it hard to easily store and move, and had a wrist rest, which I understand many people consider a 'plus' but for me is a huge minus since it adds to the bulk and gets in the way more often then actually being helpful since I use my keyboard at my couch while gaming, not at a computer desk.
There were other high speed mechanical backlit low profile keyboards prior to this, but I do accounting as my day job, and none of them offered a numberpad, so again I had to compromise.
It's as simple as this, if you make the only product of it's kind, you can ask whatever you want for it, and people WILL buy it. So to answer the question that he idiotically thought was rhetorical "LOTS OF PEOPLE WILL BUY IT," and they aren't stupid for doing so, they push the other manufacturers to recognize a market exists for this product once they pry their heads out of their asses, and then the market will open up for reasonably priced products including all these features. If he comes along and says the new products make sense, and people who bought the old ones are stupid, then he fails to recognize that those who bought this keyboard are the reason new ones were created, as they demonstrated the existence of the market.
Just about every single other reviewer praising the product in general, and being a 'bit' wary of the price is more accurate, this is a clickbait title for a video, and his general tone, seeming to assume no one should buy it is at best ignorant, at worse, demonstrating an extreme self-absorption and incapability to recognize the perspective of others. From a purely comfort perspective, if you work typing all day long like many of us do, this is nothing to pay for the additional comfort.

Before watching the video, i have to say , i got the wired version, and it is PERFECT. The wireless version gives people problems with interfering frequencies from other devices. 3:44 The sense of this low profile is, when you press a button, the neighbored button is not a mountain to climb, for the finger that wants to glide on it. Long story short, you can switch buttons faster. I wish they would produce key caps out of GLASS. Good to clean, no softeners , wich are in plastics, for making them more flexible, but harm your health. And it looks freaking cool.

Now, I don't exactly know why I watched this video since I have been using this exact keyboard for almost two years now but... anyway :D
I have a few points to add from my long term experience with the product:
    1. It was very surprising to me that one of your key legs broke during the insertion, I have removed and inserted the caps probably around 30-40 times for cleaning purposes now and it is always a very easy process that I have never experienced any issues with.
    2. The wear on the key caps (or rather the lack of wear) is impressive. If you do directly shine a light on a frequently used key (say shift, the space bar or wasd) from a specific angle, you can see a slight change in the reflection but it is barely noticeable under normal circumstances. The secondary character print does not seem to wear off at all.
    3. Also, I do have to say that I do not have the issue with the volume wheel that you described. Yes, there is no tactility to it. However, on my setup, I do not experience any delay with my windows sound control when using it and it feels quite intuitive.
Of course, all of that does not change the price tag that comes with this product but I do have to say that I would rather pay this price and have a keyboard that works without any noticeable wear for a long time than having to replace it after two years because something does not work properly any longer.

Using the Logitech G915 TKL White with a white G Pro X Superlight is a desktop dream. Great combo, great quality, and excellent wireless performance.

I realize it's expensive... but it's been my go to for years now. All other keybaords over the years have been uncomfortable for me to use but this one is great. I usually use the TKL but if you want a numpad the full size is solid as well. Well built and long battery life.

And Logitech keycaps are among the worst IMO. They're soooooo easy to get glossy and slick from finger oils. They feel like the cheapest possible ABS I've ever felt. I love their boards and such. But the keycaps are dookie butt

I´m really sorry, but I think you never typed on it or do you? I have for myself since the last 2 weeks now the wired G815 version of it and only can say it´s the best keyboard I ever had. The tactile low profile switches are somewhat great you only want to type on it. The only thing thats a big design flaw is that they are not light up the secondary functions of the keys. No, they did instead the third functions. But even by that it´s simply the feel you want by searching for a low profile keyboard. I got my G815 now for 110€ and even 200€ would be OK if everythings perfect. It´s a simple thing that you will use all day and notice it. So is it not much more worthy if you have than with it by noticing it all day? Just try it in a store if you are interested. You don´t like it? Then you don´t need it or not searching for a good mechanical low profile keyboard. No matter what, it´s ok. And thank you, so I could wote a text on this gorgeous keyboard. Love it!

I bought the keyboard linear type a few months ago and i am very pleased i did so. I do not have any lag on the volume roll and find it also very usefull in games, music and other stuff. Yes the edges are a bit sharp, but not that it bothers me. And the price, yes for what you get what, like all in life. I had bought it on logitech for 168€ btw inc., you must look for promotions you know 😁
