- This is how to clean a GDI motor with Seafoam spray. GDI motors are very common and are used a lot by hyundai and kia. GDI motors or gasoline direct injection engines are not capable of cleaning the top parts of the motor on it's own. So, it's important to clean them out every 50 - 100,000 miles using a seafoam spray or something similar like the Lucas additive spray. I'm using seafoam on a kia rio 1.6L GDI, but this is the same process for hyundai accent, kia forte, hyundai elantra, kia optima, kia soul, and hyundai sonata.
My guy was even turning the screw driver on beat 🤣
😎
I hope this video helps you clean your motor with seafoam!

Did you put the straw into the throttle body then reconnect ?
Does sea foam comes with that type of straw? Can you get it in a store?
How often do you recommend this
Every 50k miles should be plenty
@@EnoughAboutCars I think that’s too long
My girls car went 90k miles without doing it til it burned up all the oil 😅 so I'm here trying to figure out how to clean it, I've seen the sales commercials for products say so it every 10k miles. But it's probably not really needed that often.
Has anyone noticed power gain through this process?
If your power is down because of carbon deposits, it could make some improvements.
@@EnoughAboutCars since I work near my residence I just drive 10 km daily, to and fro, NGK customer service told me that's why carbon is building up, I need to drive on the freeway at higher speed for the plugs to self clean
