Hi, thanks for the video. I have one of these and decided to try to shoot some video on it. (can't afford new camera) I also use an SL-1 and I can not get the 60d to record video at all. It shuts off after a few seconds with every sd card I try. They work in the sl1.. Tried a 64g sandisk 80mb/s 1 10 and a lexar 16gb 95mb/s any thoughts?

Hi - Do I need the Mic on the camera if I have my guest using Mics that are connected to a Zoomh6? Basically, the mics are connected to the zoomh6 and then do I connect the camera do the zoomh6? Will that capture the audio so I don't have to sync it in post?

Why when I record after 3 sec it say the record stopped automatically ?

hey so i know i'm late but i have an eos 4000d (pretty much the most basic/cheap canon dslr) and i was wondering what i should do if i have no mic jack. i really want to film a movie type thing with my friend and i don't want the sound to be terrible. also, i don't have the settings box thing at 2:25 where can i set the shutter speed? is there an option on the in camera menu? thank you

You need to look into a software hack called "Magic Lantern" you can run firmware on the camera. However, I don't know if you can get over the record limit, but you can set it up where the camera can auto restart the recording without you touching the camera.

You can record to an external recorder like an atomos ninja. You might be able to record to the computer via HDMI, but you might need a capture card, like the device they use to record video games to get a good recording.

Hi, I just find that my 60D camera for video recording only allows 13 minutes time limit. How do I set it continually until I stop it? Please advise and thanks.
i think maybe your sd card’s capacity is only enough for 13 minutes. if you want to record continually you’ll have to get one with more storage, otherwise you can transfer the file from your sd card to somewhere else and start recording again until you have enough

btw while recording with multiple friends on autofocusble camera should I put it on manual or autofocus...cause sometimes I find it being focus on only one person and others NOT AT ALL can you tell if manual is better than AF?

Do you have to plug your mic into the top part or could you just plug the side jack into it and could it still work
Leah Haddad you don't have to mount the microphone on top, it will work as long as you plug it in.

No, you can install magic lantern which will allow you to do auto restart, so it will automatically restart the recording every 10-12 minutes. You'll end up with like 5 seconds missing between each clip.
