Mothim is pretty forgettable. Naked Burmy is iconic, but when people think about Burmy's evolution, they think about Wormadam, not Mothim.
This, I literally discovered his existence because he spawned in front of me while I was playing a Pixelmon server and I was like "the hell is this guy"
I think mothim is pretty memorable because he's cute, when I saw him and looked up how to get him I was disappointed my burmy only evolved into burmy 2.0... always remembered as the one that got away lmao
I have a shiny mothim on legends arceus so I think about it often. I love that shiny.
I somewhat prefer Mothim to Wormadam but even I have a hard time remembering it because Wormadam got Burmy's gimmick.

Zarude is a mythical, it doesn't count. They purposely made it hard to get, It's forgettable due to most people not knowing it existed, not because it's unremarkable.

Blipbug is the only Pokemon I have literally forgotten so that’s my vote. I’ve put thousands of hours across all Pokemon games, grew up watching the anime, I frequently play the TCG Online, and literally had an Orbeetle on my team for both of my SwSh playthroughs. I was watching some video that looked at the Pokedex and Blipbug was mentioned in a different Pokemon’s Pokedex entry, and I literally had to look up what the hell a blipbug was. Probably the only time I did not recognize a Pokemon by name.

I caught my Orbeetle as a Dottler so I had very little exposure to Blipbug. Sure now I know it but back during my second playthrough of Shield the Orbeetle line had 2 stages.

Thinking about forgettable Pokemon is hard cause you would have to remember them to talk about them. It leads to this weird cycle where you go "that Pokemon's pretty forgettable" and then you thinking about them lidges them into your memory for like a month. This happened to me with Relicanth.
I had such dissonance a few years ago playing gen 3 again having literally forgotten Relicanth. Not "oh yea that thing" I mean full on, "have I even seen this before?"

But the best way to find out who the most forgettable Pokémon is would be to ask several fans to make a list in order of all the Pokémon they can think of and look at which ones are most often last or even not listed at all.
Almost guarantee brushrix wouldn't make it to ten lists out of a group of 100
You could easily make a top 10 most forgotten pokemon and base it off of either fans trying to list off every pokemon or see what pokemon show up the least after their debut generation.

Binacle is not forgettable at all, that two handed creature evolves into a Pokémon used by the water elite four member in x&y. Might not be my favorite design, but definitely not forgettable.
And finneon/lumineon, I remember them as the fish that pretend to be eeveelutions because thats what their names sound like. Also they are quite pretty, so easy for me to remember them.
Way to solve this question? Make a browser game/quiz "Real Pokemon or Fake?" then document which real Pokemon is selected as fake the most often.

As someone who likes to go back and attempt the "name every Pokémon ever" quiz from time to time, I find that a lot of forgettable Pokémon become easy to remember as "the usual suspects" for me. Baltoy and Claydol, Beheeyem and Elgyem, Minccino and Cinccino, Volbeat, Illumise, Druddigon, Furfrou, etc.

@mariawhite7337 I'm currently using him as my fly slave until I get my hands on a Salamence in my current playthrough of Pokémon Emerald. I named him after the only UA-cam to use him as a mascot, Royal Pear.
Everytime ppl talk about tropius being underwhelming and forgettable I am always in a shock cuz it was part of basically every Platinum team I had
It is a cool design and it is the perfect HM slave on top of that cuz (unlike Bibarel) with a moveset of all HM but a grass type stab it still manages to be strong.
It is like, the first mon I think about when I need to think of a gen 3 one for this reason.
Everything past gen 5 is what my brain simply refuses to memorize, with exception of some legendaries and ultra beasts
