Hi Lance, I just changed the left hand side tie rod, the one with the notched shaft. What a problem it gave me, the new one and the old one looked identical but when i came to put it on i could not get the bolt to lighn up to go fully it, eventually I realised that the notches on the new one were not as deep as the old one so the pin was off centred once into the notch and would not line up with the exit hole. I thought of using a smaller duameter bolt but that made it slack on the bracket, A few minutes with a grinder I deepened the notch just enough to get the original bolt back in. A quick half hour job turned into an all afternoon one.
bueno amigo,es un placer ver tus videos en los ratos libres,me gustan bastante pues seven los trabajos bien realizados, un saludo para todos, y feliz año.
G Day Manuel I had to translate your comment and here it is Good friend, it is a pleasure to see your videos in free time, I like them quite well because seven works well done, greetings for all, and happy year. Glad you enjoy the channel, thanks for watching and commenting and Happy New Year!
Great stuff on the JD's, i have a 2035 highcrop, here in spain(although i'm english) they are quite popular together with the 717, 818, 2020, 2030 & 40's, still used daily in most cases. The highcrps aren't as plentyfull as the standard on any of the models but not real rarities either. mine has hydraulic pto that slips now and again but i have no idea if its adjustable or not so i'm hopeing you'll get to that one of these days. Thanks again for all your vids, on any mecanical subject, i got a lathe and a milling machine is next so i watch all with interest, cheers, Derek
G Day Derek, The bad news is the PTO clutch is not adjustable apart from the system pressure on the top cover near the gear sticks. Over on the right at the rear of the cover is a plug that a 7/8 spanner fits if my memory serves me right and you could check pressures and slip a shim in from there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
cheers for that lance, when i get a minute i'll take a look. Its not bad but when i have the brushcutter on it sometimes slips when hard worked. I do have a clutched transmitión on it but if its been idle for a month or too the clutch sticks so you have to slacken it off then reset it once the discs slip a bit and clean up. Tilling etc i don't have any trouble. thanks again for the videos, i'm getting fat with all this kangaroo stew 😂
G Day Joe, the only reason I can think of is it is dearer to make and they wont sell as many in the future, I am finding that the rubbers dont last as long either but you can buy them quite cheaply. We call Zerks grease nipples over here.
What's the most common cause of a really sloppy steering mechanism? I'm hoping not to have to take the front end off of my old John Deere 400 industrial. Mine is a power assist and has a lot of play.
All I can say Lance is....you clatty sod lol. Reminded me of freeing my Nuffield linkage arm stabilizers recently. One wasn't too bad, but lucky to do the other. At home so no real tools to use or heat. Used that small 'anvil' I made from a hammer and really gave it some beans with a lump hammer. Anyway managed it. If not would have had to make a bonfire to chuck it in.
G Day Malc, The only thing that will beat a gentle tap is a bloody big one, hard to find a job a hammer is not good at.lol These old tractors can throw up some challenges but this old girl was a walk in the park.
Good to hear mate. Yeah, can't beat a big hammer.....tool to fix anything eh! I was lucky to be taught to use one from an early age. Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather were blacksmiths.
@@BundyBearsShed I apologize, I explain it in English. How to arrange the 9 cm long ball spring between the 4 gear rods and the 2130 gearbox? This part does the parking gear lock.
G Day Dexanne, Go here jdparts.deere.com/servlet/com.deere.u90.jdparts.view.publicservlets.HomeUnsigned?selectedMenu=JDPARTS_HOME&userAction=countrySelected&country=AU&language=19 and you should be able to look up your own JD parts.
Awesome video! You saved me hours on my 2130! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Nice one. Thanks. Just done a tie rod end and ball joint on my tractor, now I know how it should have been done!
Deebo1812 g Day Deebo, you can't go far wrong as long as you can turn corners ya should be fine lol

I have said a few choice words getting some of those old tie rod ends out!
That one was easy for sure.
Mike
G Day Mike, Yes I got off very easy with this one. Some will fight all the way.
Nothing runs like a Deere. You steered us the right way today.
G Day Harrold, Yes try and steer you along the straight and narrow.

most common is the pin on the front axle bell crank also check the nut on the drag link on the steering box end.
@@BundyBearsShed Thanks!

That's an interesting vise.
Doug Rundell G day Doug, the vise is a fabricated offset vise, good for holding shafts etc but they do stretch over time and not close evenly.
Hi. Where I'd like to get a catalog with the parts and model numbers of the steering and rackshaft for john deere 2650. can anyone assist?

When it comes to Never Seize, it's a case of bigger the glob, the better the job.
You bet lol.
i have an old socket welded to an piece of pipe with a notch that works a treat i guess i am just lazy
I did have the correct tool made up but I sold it when I sold my business so I should make a new one one day but things get in the road.
no grease point frowns
No it seems to be the way now a days
I love your repair video's its when you have to excavate the part from the mud LOL
If you can't fix it with a hammer, it's electrical.
Thats what I reckon too lol
