Bro honestly you have no idea how thankful I am! Had a pretty shitty week and the monitor not responding was the last straw... The ram sticks fixed my problem. Thank you so much!
I am no expert but I think the black residue is due to this: Electricity tends to make metals oxidate. For iron, the oxidation is called rust. Gold is used for the contacts because it cannot oxidate. However, this is probably not 100% pure gold used, but rather some mixture with some other metal which can oxidate over time and the connector will not work anymore.
I've been in IT and repairing computers for over 2 decades and I've never come across this trick. Thank you! Interestingly, my issue was actually with the video card so after rubbing the contacts of each memory stick and not having success I pulled out the graphics card and did the same. I cannot say for certain that is was the cleaning of the graphics card contacts and not just reseating it, but regardless of the physical reason popping it out and clearning it did the trick!
THE VIDEO IS 2 YEARS OLD AND STILL HELPING PEOPLE. THANK YOU SO MUCH, I WAS WORRIED I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO HEAD TO BEST BUY ALSO, THE PROBLEM WAS THE RAM STICK, THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN
Many thanks about the RAM suggestion. I knew I needed a new motherboard battery anyway and was very disheartened when that didn't solve the issue, but thankfully I came across the video. My RAM was clean, but I had just taken it out right after moving for an unrelated reason and I guess didn't put it back in quite correctly. Works even better than before now between that and the new motherboard battery.
Couple months old build, faced three same issue. I'm so relieved and grateful to you that your tips helped me fix it myself rather than lugging it to all the local repair shops, potentially damaging further.
If my ram lights up with my other components when I power on the pc, does that mean the ram isn't the problem or can it still be the problem despite it lighting up? Plz save me

I know nothing about desktops, I never even heard of a ram stick before watching this video and it fixed my problem (needed to clean them) Thank you so much.
I got it fixed using another method! It was the graphics card, it was not plugged correctly. Note: Mine was fine until I decided to open the chasis to see inside, I accidentally moved one part that locks the graphics card, just needed to put it vertically again :)
Thank You! It was the ram! Had to detach both ram sticks and wipe them before putting them back in! At first, i was scared i’d break them by taking them out and putting them back in. For the putting back in process, you HAVE to press the ram sticks in until it clicks in (dont manually close the slot). I managed to put a stick back in by pressing one side in first until it clicks/locks one side before pressing in the other side of the ram stick.
no problem bro ram sticks are not actually that fragile unless you intentionally break it. Anyway check this out if you need more info ua-cam.com/video/UKR5xRsOhNg/v-deo.html

Guys, the most common issue is the ram sticks, when you put them in, you need to push hard till you here 2 clicks, a click from the top and the bottom. Most people don’t insert them right.

glad i could help bro 😀👍
TYSM! I’ve been trying to fix this for weeks! Turns out all I have to do was dust the ram sticks!
you're welcome! glad to hear it works :)
Man, do I even need to mirror what everyone else is saying? That pencil eraser trick saved me! I was literally about to give up on PC gaming all together with no other ideas solving the issue. Thanks so much!
every comment is important bro! thanks for letting us know it worked! and no problem 😊
Thank you so much. I watched your video and was a bit sceptical, but I followed your advice to a degree. I released and then re-seated all of the ram, turned on the computer and there was my screen back again. Once more thank you so much.
glad to hear it worked! you're welcome and thanks too for the feedback
Dude, you just saved my PC. I love you man!!!!! My PC was soooo dusty. Gave it a good clean inside and solved the problem. Massive THANK YOU!!!!!!
Glad I could help!😁👍
Bro my ram I just bought is causing this problem thank you so much for the information without you I would have already burned my pc ☺️
oh thank goodness! you're welcome bro and thanks for the feedback
I was thinking to myself there’s no chance it can be ram sticks but I honestly had no other option so I gave it a go and was stunned honestly. Thank you, you saved me from a panic attack
glad it worked! 😊😊
Lol me too. After all the ram slots and stick look clean..but I already did everything else, including resetting cmos and no luck.
Cant believe it boots after a lil bit of dusting
@@hanalala3164 awesome!
Bro honestly you have no idea how thankful I am! Had a pretty shitty week and the monitor not responding was the last straw... The ram sticks fixed my problem. Thank you so much!
oh you're so welcome bro! i know how that feels but i'm glad i was able to help. thanks too for sharing your feedback
Just wanted to say thank you very much. You just solved 4 hours of me fighting my ryzen computer. You are awesome
Great to hear bro! you're welcome :)
I am no expert but I think the black residue is due to this:
Electricity tends to make metals oxidate.
I cannot say for certain that is was the cleaning of the graphics card contacts and not just reseating it, but regardless of the physical reason popping it out and clearning it did the trick!
i sometimes clean the gpu circuit connectors on my client's pcs and it worked too. glad it was helpful
THE VIDEO IS 2 YEARS OLD AND STILL HELPING PEOPLE. THANK YOU SO MUCH, I WAS WORRIED I WAS GOING TO HAVE TO HEAD TO BEST BUY
ALSO, THE PROBLEM WAS THE RAM STICK, THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN
you're welcome bro! glad i was able to help :)
Thanks mate, I have been trying for 2 days and just by removing and cleaning the ram it worked, your a star!
nice bro! glad it worked for you as well. you're welcome and thank you too for the feedback
Glad I could help! thank you too for sharing your experience :)
I'm somewhat decent with PCs, bit the ram cleaning trick I did was with a tooth brush and it worked, youve earned my sun and respect, thank you
glad it worked bro! no problem
Couple months old build, faced three same issue. I'm so relieved and grateful to you that your tips helped me fix it myself rather than lugging it to all the local repair shops, potentially damaging further.
glad the video was helpful 😀
If my ram lights up with my other components when I power on the pc, does that mean the ram isn't the problem or can it still be the problem despite it lighting up? Plz save me
Yes it can just clean it off
@@imcrackedmac4129 is it safe to clean it? I'm worried about damaging my components
@@s0vnds ofc it's safe, it's not that fragile but still be careful with it
Guys i put my rams again
And my again say no signal help me
This of course goes without saying that restarting your computer is always a good first step if it suddenly just stops working.
Just fixed my Sons PC after watching this video, you saved me from a lot of headache! Thanks man👍
awesome! no problem bro
This video is a lifesaver, my PC just zoned out during work.

@@MacCoyzkie No problem, I am the one who should be thankful
Thanks soooo much, I thought I was going to have to send my pc to a repair shop or something but it was just that the ram needed to be reseated. Thanks again! 😁

I just got a new pc today the fans are all working. My HDMI cable is working cuz i have a xbox but i get no signal when i turn my pc on. I tried all the steps but i did not work

@@ACE0311 wow never heard of it but that is cool. Btw i'm guessing it is a driver issue or incompatibility. What do you think?
It might be that your computer is stuck in power save mode
@@gamesidecentral2743 how do you fix it
I know nothing about desktops, I never even heard of a ram stick before watching this video and it fixed my problem (needed to clean them) Thank you so much.
no problem bro! glad this video was helpful 😀👍
I was literally about to cry. You sir, are an angel
glad it worked for you as well :)
Nah
I got it fixed using another method! It was the graphics card, it was not plugged correctly.
Note: Mine was fine until I decided to open the chasis to see inside, I accidentally moved one part that locks the graphics card, just needed to put it vertically again :)
it happens, thanks for sharing your experience bro. this will also be helpful for others
Can you tell me which part in the gpu?
Was you gpu on tho like lights and stuff
I think the eraser on rams trick just released all the stress I had all week man. THANK YOU♥️
Great to hear bro! you're welcome
Thank you so much for making this video. I just got new ram and everything was working before and I was so confused and mad because I didn’t know why it had suddenly stopped working
you're welcome! thanks for the feedback 😀👍
Wait,I just bought a new ram, installed it but it wasn't detected so i switched the places of my new ram and old ram and then this check your signal problem occured. Then i just put my pc back to how it was with just the old ram and still not working. What exactly fixed your problem?
@@emperorxina2914 probably compatibility. what are your specs?
@@MacCoyzkie I fixed it,I just needed to press the stick really hard into the socket. Thankfully everything is fine now.
Cleaned the dust off of my pc because it was getting hot. For some reason, it didn't work when I opened it up. It was the ram. Thanks bro.
oh glad it worked! you're welcome bro!
Guys, the most common issue is the ram sticks, when you put them in, you need to push hard till you here 2 clicks, a click from the top and the bottom. Most people don’t insert them right.
If god exists, it’s mist likely you. You just saved my whole wallet.
Omg thank you!
Why did taking the ram in and out work? These machines are indistinguishable from magic.
no problem
It’s always the goddamn ram sticks smh, I thought my gpu was defective I completely forgot that I took the ram sticks out and put them back in
I’m getting a pc tomorrow so ima save to later just to keep in mind ;-;

you'll be fine as long as you do it according to the video. If you can't do this you'll have to take your pc to a local shop for a fix
