I am no expert but I think the black residue is due to this: Electricity tends to make metals oxidate. For iron, the oxidation is called rust. Gold is used for the contacts because it cannot oxidate. However, this is probably not 100% pure gold used, but rather some mixture with some other metal which can oxidate over time and the connector will not work anymore.
you need to replace the thermal paste after every disassembling otherwise it will overheat. Also double check the cables that needs to be connected to the board

Guys, the most common issue is the ram sticks, when you put them in, you need to push hard till you here 2 clicks, a click from the top and the bottom. Most people don’t insert them right.
I just did a pc rebuild and even thought that I somehow broke my graphics card during that. The trick with taking out the RAM fixed it, thank you so much! Gonna leave you a like!
All my hardware & cables are fine. When I get no signal on my TV i can just unplug the HDMI & then plug it back in again & it then gets a signla. This happens on 3 different TV's with 2 laptops & a NUC PC. It seems to happen randomly either when the TV has been off or sometimes when booting windows it happens after the logon screen. I have updated all drivers but the problem has been happening on all devices running Win10 or Win11 (One of our laptops was originally on Win7 & the problem never occurred. It only started with that system once updated to Win10) Any ideas why it happens?
if there is anything i could think of, this might be an adapter problem if you are using one. recent updates are preparation for the new hardware releases so that also might be the reason.

2. I vaccum it, that's how i clean my whole PC inside and outside.
Do i really have to do it with that uh.. thing?..?? Or i can just clean it like i normally do?
dude, you saved me, there's bunch of other video that similar to this but none of it mentions about the ram, and when i tried to clean the ram and put it back in, it's works, you just earned a new sub!
awesome bro! glad this video still helps after all these years. thanks for the subbed too
@@MacCoyzkiehow do u fix a pc that isn't showing lights on the fans and not showing on display?
@@kizzie6401 that's a faulty psu or motherboard. the only way we can check that is by using a spare psu. borrow from a friend or relative with compatible pc
I am no expert but I think the black residue is due to this:
Electricity tends to make metals oxidate. For iron, the oxidation is called rust. Gold is used for the contacts because it cannot oxidate. However, this is probably not 100% pure gold used, but rather some mixture with some other metal which can oxidate over time and the connector will not work anymore.
Hello Mac, I was de-assembling my gpu and accidently removed a lot of thermal paste! Is that a problem why the monitor wont show anything?
you need to replace the thermal paste after every disassembling otherwise it will overheat. Also double check the cables that needs to be connected to the board
@@MacCoyzkie Yep then its a thermal paste problem! Thankyou :) I subscribed bcz you respond to everyone
@@broprakash no problem! thank you too for the support

Thank you so much. I watched your video and was a bit sceptical, but I followed your advice to a degree. I released and then re-seated all of the ram, turned on the computer and there was my screen back again. Once more thank you so much.
glad to hear it worked! you're welcome and thanks too for the feedback
I just got a new pc today the fans are all working. My HDMI cable is working cuz i have a xbox but i get no signal when i turn my pc on. I tried all the steps but i did not work

@@MacCoyzkie No problem, I am the one who should be thankful
The problem is my ram, and I’ve cleaned it then it works for a play session, then it stops working. Do I need to replace my ram?
how about cleaning the dust off the ram slots too, it might help. also have it tested to your friend's pc first to double check
@@MacCoyzkie I dusted the ram slots, but now that you mention I might’ve missed slot 4. Thanks for the quick response tho, definitely worth a sub

My pc will turn on, motherboard too, expect Im not getting any power to my devices through usb + I get no display. Could this still be a RAM issue ? Thanks . I’ve been stuck at this for a few days would appreciate any help
@@alejandrovazquez7915 if your keyboard and mouse are not lighting up and no fans running that could be a faulty psu or motherboard. Or it could also be the power outlet is not giving the right amount of power for your pc and that is only if you don't have a stable electricity in your house.
Thank you SO much! I never would've thought it was just the RAM sticks needing cleaning, I was worried about my dp cable, my monitor and my gpu and I didn't have any spares to test them. Really appreciate this!

Do you know what brush you used because I’m having a hard time finding one.
any unused paint brush will do
I get a black screen because i mistakenly deleted the nvidia graphics program. Any clue what i can do? The pc boots but the monitor gets no signal
enter safe mode this way ua-cam.com/users/shortsIZKc8plksDA then as soon as you enter safe mode do this ua-cam.com/video/SvIJhcxZTsA/v-deo.html this will clean and remove the old driver. restart the pc and download a new driver, make sure it is the correct version ua-cam.com/users/shortshhaQqJib6Gs

Weirdly for me I learnt if I press the restart button then wait 4 seconds then turn on the monitor it works. Guys, the most common issue is the ram sticks, when you put them in, you need to push hard till you here 2 clicks, a click from the top and the bottom. Most people don’t insert them right.
If god exists, it’s mist likely you. You just saved my whole wallet.
I just did a pc rebuild and even thought that I somehow broke my graphics card during that.
The trick with taking out the RAM fixed it, thank you so much!

It only started with that system once updated to Win10)
Any ideas why it happens?
if there is anything i could think of, this might be an adapter problem if you are using one. recent updates are preparation for the new hardware releases so that also might be the reason.
same idk what is the probelem
