- Barry White's Speed Shop has been taken over by the Beverly Hills Fire Department. Or at least, fire-fighting muscle car enthusiasts who've moved in to help him rebuild his latest wreck - and this one is something special.
The 1969 Mustang Fastback was a classic of its era. With smooth lines, and powerful engine, it defined muscle car, and turned heads at every traffic light. But that was more than thirty years ago, and the wreck Barry has found wouldn't even turn heads in the junkyard.
After six previous cars, Barry is used to the challenge. He has only a month to turn this dilapidated Mustang, into the Pony car that steals the show at the prestigious Kruse Auto Auction in Las Vegas.
This time it should be easier. He has the fire fighters providing much needed labor. Even better, so many want in on the act, they split into two shifts, prepared to keep working virtually around the clock. And that's where Barry's problems start.
Who knew fire fighters could be so competitive? The rivalry between A Shift and B Shift is fierce, with each trying to outdo the other, and Barry's stuck in the middle playing peacemaker. They're working so fast, parts guy Chris Brown can't keep up. Before long, there's a workshop full of agitated fire fighters, with nothing to do.
It's a recipe for disaster and Barry has never had to handle anything like this before. Will the fire fighters walk out? Will Chris find the parts they need? Will the Super Muscle Car version of the Mustang Fastback get finished?
For Barry, making riches out of this wreck seems an impossible dream.
Velocity Channel should get this show back on TV. It was such a great show!!!
This show is terrible. Always the same rims, free labor, same buyer's and the same retarded SMC on all the cars. Every episode feels the same
i love watching people build classic cars i got no complain there my new heros berry white is u guys.
Would have rebuilt the original motor, and transmission.
Berry and all the team, i give a big thumbs up for keeping the Mustang where it belongs, i was just reading some thoughts of those who brought the Mustang to the street and when i reflect back to those notes, i don't think anybody could say that you or your team went out of that idea to be with us for many, many more years. GOOD JOB!!!!

This show is junk. They get rotted out beaters and slap different car model names on it. It's dishonest and they're full of bondo. That's why they don't deserve the notice

They took this episode and made two out of it to focus on the 69. What sucks though is he got all that free labor from Firemen but at auction he pockets all the money from their free labor.

Yeah, that is a douchebag move. He did that a few episodes ago with some kids from a local auto school.
Did you miss when they said the firemen volunteer as in they choose to give their time freely willingly because they enjoy doing it not cause expect payment or part of the money from auction sales so what are you even talking about, watch and listen better

I really enjoyed seeing what you can do. Didn't mind the yellow.
Kind of bummed they featured two cars for this episode and they chose to follow the new car which just had a few after market items bolted on and left us hanging on the true wreck to riches story in the old fastback.

the last stang I did was a 1966 I spent just under 20 grand inside of 6 months brought it up to reno nv for hot august nights and turned it for 30 grand.
Those side mirrors are far from an other story, the lateral strip looks like it was designed for a different car.. the wheels are tacky

I always notice police or fire fighters coming to help out to fix his cars I wonder if I call up my local department if they will help me change out a transmission in my dodge ram truck they need to make this show more real life

I disagree with the other comments, I think the Yellow Mustang looks Flawless, it's not a personal Color I would pick but it looks just fine, usable and drivable. I'd like to put the Fenders and Side Rails on my Black GT. Good job on the Yellow Mustang.

I have never owned a ford. I keep kicking the shit out of them with my 40 Chevrolet pickup truck. 2800 pounds 434 aluminum small block Chevrolet, Whipple 2400 supercharger, Winters quick change rear end, 6sp. trany . SEE YAH ford guys.

You can tell that the other people who fixed up their Mustangs put some thought and originality into it. Barry only put after market expensive options on it. Oh wait, he did put new mirrors and a new grill on it : /

I've noticed no airbrush painter, that's what they need to finish off the sales, a good airbrush artist is worth the money.
I feel like, and i am pretty sure, they add noise to all the burnouts. Every tire burning out does not sound the same... except on this show.

so saying its WRECKS from riches is not the truth. I wouldn't trust this shop for nothing. Im a vintage re-builder who's in it for the passion and not the money, that's who you want to buy from.

Kerry Clark I'm confused why they didn't do anything to the interior. I would have carried the black middle line all the way to the back with a bigger tail. I would have also put some brake vents on the sides as well. And I would have put a cage in it to take it to the drag race side.

In my opinion, the low-rider, low-profile tires do not compliment the looks of a muscle car. It also hurts the ride quality and will lead to damaged rims. If I had the money for a muscle car from him, they’d have to have a more traditional tire and rim on it.

Many times the supercharger hits come with canned tune single car programmer to get car up and running. Then new owner can move up in tuner complexity

As for the late model Mustang, except for the hood I liked it better stock. I've only seen a few of these builds by Barry White, but so far the rims do look all the same. As far as the 69 goes, they trashed that!!
