- Someone shared this link with me Creativebreathing.blogspot.com for a picture tutorial of the snowmen heads. She has a lot of great snowmen and many other projects. This is my video tutorial on making the paper-mache or paper clay snowmen. I will do another tutorial on the large full body snowman soon.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED SNOWMEN, THIS ONE IS SO PRECIOUS THAT I JUST HAVE TO MAKE ONE FOR MYSELF!
I am laughing ...they are adorable, thank you again!!!
I am in process of making these to gift to a few ladies in nursing home! Going to put onto jars and put goodies in jar! Thank you for showing us these darling snowmen! Merry Christmas from Arkansas!
Debbie that is a wonderful idea! I really need to get back to making more of these myself. I have made them for gifts but didn't do a video. I would love to see a picture of your finished snowmen! I have family in Arkansas and will be out your way soon! Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I really appreciate it! I found one in Marshalls a year ago and he was banged up pretty bad, to the point that his legs were broke and his hat was missing and there was a gouge out of him. The manager still wanted a lot of money for him and I knew they were going to throw him out when I walked out of the store but I would not pay what they wanted. I was with Olga (Artmingle) and when I drove my car up to pick her up she had bought him for me. I have a video called "The Dr. is in" where I fixed him. It is a hoot! Thanks again, Janet =D
nanajl54 How sweet of Olga! She is the sweetest. I'll have to go and watch it. You're videos are usually uplifting to watch! Now you can make many more. I did go and look at HL today and found some paper mache shapes and they were cheaper than the styrofoam shapes. Hugs!!! Patti
I have four of these beauties in process, cheeks n noses painted ,next the eyes, these are so cute...thanks tons!
I loved your snowman, I'm gonna try to make it. I did make some gingerbread heads years ago.
These are wonderful, sort of shabby. I would love to make one, and one is not enough, I’ll want a family. Many, many thanks.

Just came across this video, almost 6 years later! First of all, you are a very good teacher, easy instructions and very thorough. I've always loved the vintage look of Christmas decor and ornaments like your snowmen, just gorgeous! Definitely going to attempt to make at least one for this coming Christmas. I was just wondering how you make the crepe paper 'ruffle'? Thanks for this tutorial, great job!😊
Wow, thank you! I sure hope you give it a try! I made the ruffle by sewing around the edges. I showed it in one of the Snowman videos!
wow...Love it. I'm gonna have to try this over christmas! Looks like fun!!! Thanks for sharing.
Tashia Boyd Designs Tashia thank you! I was just thinking that I should be soldering some jewelry too! I want to see your creations!

+Shabby PinkStamper YEA!! I'm making a snowman now but nothing like this...other than being a snowman....but I so look forward to your video...
Good job. Loved it. Thank you so much
+Irene Cortez Thank you Irene! I hope you make one. I leave mine out all year round in my craft room. Thanks for watching!
Hi Patti.....I just found this....they are so cute....you have done a really good job. I am making them for sure! Just wanted to ask about the lid for the individual heads.. is it just the edge around the base? I love your videos! Thank you ❤️🌸👍
I made a lid of a circle that I made slightly bigger than the pot and then cut slits around the circle so I could bend them down. It helps to keep the circular shape and then added an edge, which is a strip that can be any width you'd like. I think I made mine 1/2" or so. I hope you can understand my instructions. Thank you for your sweet comments. I love the snowmen I have made and it makes me happy to look at them displayed at this time of year..
Hi, Shabby Pinkstamper!! Loved the video of the snowman. My question is when are you going to do a video of the snowman's body? I'm chomping at the bit to try one! Thanks!
Kathy Baker Thank you for watching Kathy! I will try to get to it within the next few weeks. Life is super busy so I haven't even updated my blog or done any videos! I want to do it and it would be nice to get an early start on Christmas stuff! Stay tuned! Hugs!!
You have given me a much needed jolt of inspiration...TFS! I assume that for the darker more vintage look, you would just add some brown?
Yes Karen that's what I did on my full size snowmen. Tfw! Have fun creating some!
Hello, I am a friend of Janet's (Nannajl54) and from the UK. Popped over from Janet when she told me what you were doing! I use the Paperclay a lot as its light and pretty reasonable! Thank you for the really good video, very well explained. Not sure if I will have time this year but I certainly will have a go ASAP. Love the MS glitter but not sure if we can get it here?
Thank you again, hugs from June x PS just subbed to you.......
June AngelPews Hello June! I recognize you from fb! Thank you for your kind words. I wish that I had done this earlier. I'll be ready for next Christmas! :) I will keep an eye out for the fine MS glitter. They only had the course at my store. Diamond dust may work too for a different look. Thank you for subbing!!! xoxo
Thank you for this tutorial- I can’t wait to make these!
Did you score the neckline crepe ruffles like a rosette? Thanks 🙂
Hi Mel! Thank you for watching and I hope you give these guys a try. No I didn't score the crepe paper. I just sewed a ruffle into them.
What kind of paint did you use? How did you ruffle the crepe paper (for around the neck)?
I used the acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I folded the crepe paper in half and used a craft needle and thread to gather the crepe paper. If it doesn't show how on this video it is on the full size snowman video. Thank you for watching!
This may sound crazy but how do you make the cone hat? I need measurements
How long does it take to dye
I like yours better
SO cool!!! xo jonnie
tabasco14 Thank you Jonnie! xoxo
