Your dolls and puppets are not just toys, they are works of art. You have put so much love and care into making them, and it shows. You are a wonderful artist!
Thank you so much! I love making them, and have a bunch more creations, in my imagination. I can’t wait to make them and share the process! Eeeek!!!! I hope you stick around for the journey 💕
The struggle is real. Thank you for posting this. It’s so refreshing to hear someone honestly describe the journey through the “ugly phase” of the creative process.
Thank you for this comment. I hesitated to share so much of my experience, at first. But I just had to share what a hard time I had with this sculpture. Mostly because I ended up loving it in the end, and hoped ppl would hear that, and push through, if they ever felt similar with an art project. Not every moment is that of ease.
lol, I think that's the rule rather than the exception. I always fall in to the pit of self doubt/imposter syndrome when creating something. It's just experience that keeps you track. You just have to remind yourself of almost EVERY other time when it all comes together in the end @@roxydarlingart
I love your commentary. It made me smile after trying to voiceover several videos. I know how weird it gets when talking to yourself. lol. I love this!
Thank you for such an honest video 😊 I've been sculpting for 3-4 years self taught and this is the first time I've watched any sculpting videos and I'm excited to try sculpting people. Really loved seeing your process, thank you!
Loved that you have shown how frustrating , emotionally draining and hard it is to create what seems , to some , an easy thing to do . Its not , a lot of tutorials are edited so it looks super easy and i think thats unfair to their audience . You kept it real and i appreciate that so much , the end result is so worth it and any mistakes you feel you made are happy mistakes because you learnt from them ! I cant wait to see your journey unfold this year ..Im along for the ride 😍😘😍
I really appreciate that you liked me keeping it real, in this video. This is one of the hardest things I ever made, and I had to be honest about it. I can’t remember the last time something was that difficult, and rewarding! I’m so happy with the final piece!!!!!!
@@roxydarlingart I'm glad you're happy with it , you should be after all the hard work you put in ! Like I said I can't wait to see where this venture takes you 😎
Thank you for this candid video. I've been working on heads even smaller than this and have been experiencing the exact same issues --eyes, top of head, chin, all of it, and what seemed proportionally correct at first turned out to need lots of additions and tweaking. I really appreciate your video that's not so heavily edited to make the process look fast and simple. It's not. But if we stick with it, we can achieve satisfaction.
I had such a difficult time with this I just couldn’t pretend anything else. So happy to give you a glimpse into the reality of the process, and know you are not alone in this. 🥰
I'm so glad I found you. I've followed...and messaged 😂...on IG. I've just recently started learning how to make my own dolls so your channel is a god send!!! Will you be showing how you create the entire doll? Thanks for sharing all this. Can't wait for the new video!
I just saw and replied to your message on IG. 😊 I’m so happy you found my channel! I do plan on making full-size dolls this coming year, they will be more like figurines rather than BJDs. I’m teaching myself along the way, so I hope to post videos as quickly as possible. 🥰
Yoooo actually liked where the 2nd head was going. Lol I'm weird I know. Not saying I don't like the outcome. I just want you to know, not to be so hard on yourself about perfection. Mmmmmkay... I know we're our hardest critics. I'm just here to remind you, that you are a bad ass artist!!!! Besos
I have been collecting tools for a while, but they sell sets of polymer clay tools on Amazon. I like to use the metal tools for blending seams of clay, and silicone tips for more gentler blending. Nail art supplies are also great for small projects as well 💕
Thank you for asking. This reminded me to update the description with the supplies list. I used Living Doll Polymer Clay, tin foil for the base, and Polymer clay clay softener. The clay softener was painted on to smooth/ blend out any finger prints before baking. After it was baked, I used sanding pads starting with a 250 grit, and worked my way up to 600 grit. Let me know if you have any more questions. 🥰
I use polymer clay to sculpt with, and polymer clay softener to smooth the clay out before baking it. I’ve heard ppl use baby oil or isopropyl alcohol to achieve similar results. I have not tried those yet but I thought I would share that information as an alternative if you have those on hand. 💕

That's exactly what happens to mine! It can be so frustrating!!! Lol
It’s a frustrating and invigorating process to say the least. lol This was definitely a roller coaster of emotions

Thank you! Yeah voice overs are not my greatest skill set, so I drink a ton of coffee and see what happens 😂

Hi friend.. Very nice... Love it. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

I always go through the ugly phase when sculpting,😂 it’s definitely a process.
It sure is a scary process, but so rewarding when pushed through! 🥰
You never showed how you completed the eyes, even on your second video
I smoothed them down with a silicone tool. Leaving them slightly curved, and blending the “eyeball” clay with the “eye socket” area.
