If you lay a piece of cling wrap over your clay before you use the cookie cutter , you get a lovely rounded edge and the cookie cutter comes off really easily.
Just a tip for anyone with a dehydrator, dry paper clay pieces in there on the lowest setting. You don't get any cracking and small pieces dry within an hour.
Does the clay curl? I had a problem with my clay ornaments this year. Although I turned them regularly, in the end I did get warping. I like the idea of using a dehydrator but worry about the warping.
Those are beautiful! I’ve watched a few videos about paper clay and I’ve even seen one about making whimsical houses. They all have gotten me very excited about starting to work on these projects after Christmas. I’ll wait until then because right now I need to finish up my Christmas gifts. Thanks so much for sharing!🥰
These are really pretty! I've seen this product but never could think of what I would use it for. Also push a straw through the dough for the holes. Thank you for the video.
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing these ideas with us, I'm feeling inspired and excited to FINALLY use the paper clay I've had stashed away. We so appreciate your creativity! 💕 April
Tasteful decorations - simple but effective! Will make original Christmas gifts - or adaptable for other occasions such as Easter. Thanks for a clear demo! x
just found your channel - thank you for sharing your ideas! I am new at paper clay using and you have shown me how to let my granddaughters help me too - love it !
I just got some air dry clay and wasn't sure what to do with it. Thank you for showing some easy things to do with it. Sometimes all it takes is to see how someone uses it and this leads to coming up with other ideas on one's own.
So elegant....and I happen to have some snowflake cookie cutters that I got after Christmas super cheap last year! I love it that I have a project to use them for because.............I'm no cookie baker! :)
@@samsanderson224 ... Hahaha.Ironically, I took a whole range of craft materials to the local day care hospice I attend once a week as a patient .... and then viewed this video, lol. I no longer have the fine motor skills needed for some crafts, but paperclay looks like I can cope with it. Yup, more money to spend.
Paperclay, never heard of this. I'm so excited to try this. Especially so many ideas u can do with this stuff. Your creations are spectacular, absolutely beautiful. First time viewer, and u totally blew me away with these creations of yours. I will DEFINATELY buy paperclay, and see.where it goes FRM THERE. THK U SO much for introducing me to paperclay. U have a beautiful xmas and a absolute good year. Many Blessings to you.
Hi Carol, it's my first time watching your channel and these are beautiful and right up my alley. In fact I have some paper clay right here, but we are moving and everything else is packed. It's being packed tomorrow but I have saved your video to Pinterest where I can find it next yr and make some beautiful ornaments. I subscribed and THUMBS UP!
Super...Love how they turned out...better than the cornstarch dough I think...such creative finishes. M subscribing . Thanks and happy holidays everyone.
Wow, you're probably not going to believe this but I have Christmas music playing and the song "Let it snow" was on. I was watching the video and not paying a lot of attention to the music and then you used the Let it snow stamp 😆 and I heard the guy singing it in the background in my living room. Very pretty! Merry Christmas!
That was beautiful! I love the music too. But you have some great ideas there and now I can't wait to get started on Christmas ornaments. So what if it's only September? You have really inspired me! Thank you! Patti
Ohmagosh, I'm so glad I came across this video, so much creativity going on! I'm a long time stamper but it never occurred to me to use them this way. Opens up a whole "nother" creative outlet Yet another thing I learned was that Ranger had ink with that nifty sponge applicator! I'm just a very happy camper. One qurstion I do have is, have you ever made your own clay? I came across several sites on YT where they made paper clay, porcelain clay themselves. Looked very nice. Well, thank you for this video and I'll be subscribing as soon as I send this comment. 😀😀
Oh goody, I just bought a couple blocks of paper clay to have on hand, not really knowing what to do with it. Ornaments will be perfect at this time of the year. Thanks so much for your video and Happy Holidays.
I had never heard of paper clay until today! I love it and the ideas that you have shared! One question, what kind of stamp is that you used. What's it called or where can I find it? Thanks!
Hi Carol, I've just bought my first pack of paper clay (by Das) and I'm so happy that I found your video straight off because what you're doing in your video is similar to the project I have in mind. i got this idea from a local bakery. For Xmas they're selling white frosted star shaped cookies decorated with silver cachous and each one has a hole in the top of it and a length of silver ribbon through it so they can be hung on the Xmas tree. I want to copy these but make them out of paper clay. I thought I could roll out the clay to about 4mm/1/8inch and then cut it into snowflake shapes with my plastic cookie cutters. But, I've made a mistake before I've even started - I meant to buy the terracotta - colored clay but I bought the white clay by mistake. So, can I paint the white clay when it's dry. What sort of paint would you recommend? I have some wonderful white modelling paste which is for creating the look of real snow on miniature scenes. Do you think I could use it as faux frosting/icing on my clay "cookies"? i also want to decorate the "frosting" with gold or silver cachous, or should I use gold or silver beads? If you could give me some advice Carol I'd be very grateful - I could send you some REAL cookies for Xmas to say thank you. I make yummy German spice cookies with lemon glacé frosting called "Snowballs". Thanks again, love from Amanda xox :-)

Thank you :))) Merry Christmas :)

Great tutorial! Just wondering, do you need to seal the ornament with anything so that the color, glitter, etc. doesn't wear off?
