I'm an old man (a clean one) of 72 with daughters and grand daughters, and you can't know much lovely enjoyment you bring to me by what you do with your music. I love your band....
Wow! Thanks ladies! O was born in 1963, and I was a little boy, probably no more than 7 or 8 when "Brandy" climbed the charts back in the day. I can remember loving the song, and imagining my favorite uncle singing it when I would hear it on the radio, and thinking about one of the girls in my school that I had a crush on as the girl in the song. Isn't it funny, how we taylor our associations to songs to our own lives!
You really don't understand.. This song is so precious to folks like me. I was a Vietnam veteran stationed on the USS Saratoga. We saw, loved and understood the Olangapo girls in the Philippines. I loved a girl here by the name of Christie. I still miss her to this day 44 years later. This song still means alot to me. Thanks for the memories.
Wow… just driving around in a van and knocked another one out of the park. You guys, and Josh and all the other ‘walk ons’ are insanely talented. These simplified arrangements are delicious and thoroughly entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
Great job girls. Time goes by at a blink of an eye. Enjoy your life. I've always loved this song . Missing my young life. Oh what a time I had................
I was watching Elliot Lurie do a fairly recent a capella version of this song on UA-cam. I commented how great he sounded and sent him a link to this and he replied that he loved the "live from the van version"! Thought that was cool and you should know about it 👍
I was a kid when this song was released. Had the "45" and played it constantly. I named my little girl after this song. She passed away in 1985. I am brought to tears each time i hear the song on the radio. You did the song justice and also brought me to tears. Not sure how i even stumbled on this but glad i did. Thanks for the song.
I remember back in 1972 commuting from Kitchener to Hamilton Ontario in my 1962 Rambler Classic Wagon singing this song at the top of my lungs. It’s wonderful to see and hear young people playing our music on UA-cam. Reina, you certainly surround yourself with great collaborators!
Another gem from you guys. I love how you embrace these old songs from half a century ago. You're parents must have been playing these tunes all the time. Good times.
Hello Reina, You girls are so good at what ever song that you perform. I remember this one very well the first summer I came back home from Vietnam. I'll be 73 in a couple months, and I sure enjoy both of your talent.
This song always reminds me of AFROTC Field Training ... officer's basic training ... at Hamilton AFB, California, in 1972. I had a transistor radio and this song seemed to be playing all the time. Good memories. Thank you for singing this.
Not only are your performances always high quality and heart-warming but you consistently introduce me to great music I haven't heard of. Love your choice of music!
Being from a Navy town this song has special meaning to me. When my dad retired from the Navy in the mid 1960s he went into managing restaurants and bars. He oversaw the management of a bar called Jack's American which was near the gates of the largest Navy Base in the world, The Norfolk Navel Base so most of his customers were sailors and other military personal. Since this song romanticized a sea port town this song resonated with the customers and was a very popular song on the jukebox. I still have the 45 records of this song that was on that jukebox. Thanks for covering this song.
I love this video. There is so much joy in Van Morrison that it spills out into the world. Thank you for sharing. I remember when my aunt bought the 45rpm (vinyl record) of this song.
My sister and I have been signing this song together since we were little kids. ... this song is not from our generation. . Much before our time . Brings back so many memories though.
I'm old enough to remember when this song came out and buying the 45 - that's a vinyl record bigger than a CD but much smaller than an LP, for you young folks. I never thought I would hear women do a decent cover of it, just because of the uniqueness of Elliot's voice, but I stand corrected. Well done and joyfully sung! Love the van touch too.
I was 13 when this song came out. Toni & Reina were around -25. It was my FAVORITE song for a very long time. The sad thing was that Looking Glass had no follow-up and they ended up being one-hit wonders. I had a chance to see them in 1972. I believe they were playing in Atlantic City (or Ocean City), New Jersey that summer. I wanted to go badly. My father took me, but through some delay on his part, we didn't get there until after the show was over!! True story. #parents
And then, watching the 1988 Summer Olympics, there was a 15-yo gymnast named Brandy Johnson (now Brandy Johnson-Scharpf). Watching her warm up, one of the male color commentators mentioned that she was named after the song, and the female commentator couldn't believe that the song was that old!
First of all, how cool is it that you've got a killer guitarist/backup singer in the back seat. That's great multi-tasking!! Second, I used to wake up to that song on my clock radio just about every day that summer. One of my all-time favourite AM radio hits. You gals rock!! Keep it up!!
Sweeeet Song! Nice singing while driving and lovely Guitar playing! Brandy a typical spanish liquor! Hope you come to Spain one day and sing this beautiful song! You girls are best i ve seen singing that song after the RHCP! Keep on driving and singing in that van Morrison!
Hi ladies- great job🤘 This is a band that every time I hear this song I can’t believe they didn’t have another hit or 10! Such a good story too!🙂❤️⭐️⭐️💋💋☀️🔥🕊🦋.
could not love both for her making music, singing, beautiful natures and good vibrations more. So you make people really happy and I will sent you my love back
When this song came out I was a sailor, (US Navy). I like to tell people it was back closer to the days of wooden ships and iron men. Lol. I was more of a drunk than a ladies man, but I liked the song just as well. You did a nice job of it, and thanks for the memories.
Every video from RdC has at least one comment from somebody of a certain age (cough...MY age...cough) saying how great it is to hear young performers with such fantastic talent paying homage to wonderful music from our day and doing it so well. Count me among them! I was very sad to hear you no longer have that recording of your Mom singing Brandy though 😔
Beautiful. A great song but more important the beautiful voices and obvious talent passed down from one generation of talent to another. You girls compliment each other beautifully. What a great video. Your Mom has every reason to be proud and smile.
Wow. Just wonderful! (2) beautiful young ladies who show a lot of class while they do their thing! One of my all time favorite songs, and you guys rocked it out! Awesome van song! Congrats on being very talented, and very lovely.
Ok, now I'm just obsessing over you guys. I better stop now before I o.d. Keep up the great work and keep making zillions of music appreciators like me happy.
I love you gals! Twenty five years ago I was playing tunes that you now play and I love hearing you. Thank you for the memories! And now with a new Martin D-28.
Young ladies, this song is from my Jr. & Sr. years in H.S. You are younger than my daughter, my younger child. I never dreamed this song would be the classic it has become. Being appreciated by successive generations is the definition of classic in my mind. That was fun! Safe journeys!
I was singin all the way - except to check out Sis's guitar work. Great work from your Van - Morrison. God Bless your Mom - this one of my favorite tunes through 1972
You young ladies are awesome naturals! I love hearing you guys play and sing. I wish you would do Manic Monday by The Bangles. I think you'd do quite well with that one given your versatility and talents. Love ya ladies. Can't wait to hear more from you two!
Yes ladies you did it made me fall in love again with your voices and this classic song. I was there when it was first played on the radio. Love it so much that when the time came named my daughter Brandy. Great job you both are awesome. Thanks for the cover tunes and the originals.
Wow, amazing voices. Really enjoyed finding your channel today. Sorry you lost that momento of your mom.Having said that, please buckle up and don't drive distracted.
Forgive me Ladies but I almost had a heart attack, great performance but I'm stunned you were really driving while performing & recording. We would HATE to lose such beautiful talents due to driving "Russian Roulette Style". Just sign me: A Worried Grandpa..... ❤️
Two absolutely beautiful girls singing! I love the drivers smile, you can tell they both really enjoyed making this video. The girl playing the guitar....damn it, she's better than I am! I could listen to these two all day.
Wanna jam? Lol..good uke players are hard to come by not those who use it ad a 'quirk'. fine version of this classic..think there myt be a verse missing or the change of the chorus after the 1st verse?
The Van is intriguing. The Martin travels well. The Reina/Toni Team continues to entertain and inspire! My heart bursts with admiration! (Er, where you headed in that Van?) Thanks guys!
I'm an old man (a clean one) of 72 with daughters and grand daughters, and you can't know much lovely enjoyment you bring to me by what you do with your music. I love your band....
I get the Beatles reference, there.
How true!! Honestly, the same sentiment is felt HERE!! Amazing 👏 Music and Performances AND binge-watching is allowed (how wonderful) 🎶🎸🎹👏👏👏
" I'm an old man...uh..(a clean one!) Lmao!!!
Holy wow, you must have a whole kingdom of your own with that many kids.
Speaking of van Morrison.. tupelo honey?
These young ladies are the real deal and as good as it gets. True professionals in every sense of the word.
Agreed!
It a good feeling to hear the young folks appreciate the old tunes.❤
These young women have real joy. May GOD bless them.
Toni's smiles and expressions give me endless joy.
I love Tony's hat 😊
Wow! Thanks ladies! O was born in 1963, and I was a little boy, probably no more than 7 or 8 when "Brandy" climbed the charts back in the day. Oh what a time I had................
Toni is a great guitarist
I was watching Elliot Lurie do a fairly recent a capella version of this song on UA-cam. I commented how great he sounded and sent him a link to this and he replied that he loved the "live from the van version"! Thought that was cool and you should know about it 👍
So cool!
You are so lucky! I need a guitarist for my back seat like that.
Gary LeRoy leroygt don’t we all
that comment made me laugh. agreed. well played.
Whenever I hear that song it brings me back to the summer of '72. Simpler times. Great job!
How the heck do people so young know about this top 40 radio song of my youth?! Such fun to hear you singing and playing this ditty from long ago.
When Tony started playing that first riff I died and went to heaven, what a gem
I was a kid when this song was released. Had the "45" and played it constantly. I named my little girl after this song. She passed away in 1985. Sorry about losing your daughter, rustybodine.
@@francinetaylor6119 thank you.
This song has such nice memories for me. I’m that old
matthew dont say that, you are just more experienced.
harry w And old. Lol nothing wrong saying you're old. I'm older too. Seems like people get too sensitive and politically correct these days.
Matthew Hansen me too
Me too shipmate.
That was ... BEAUTIFUL! Both of these beautiful young ladies could certainly steal the sailors they desire from their female rival.. the Sea.
I love this! Van Morrison !! LOL
Every time she sings its just enchanting its so soft yet powerful and its just amazing.
LOVE to see you 2 sister's playing and LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST !!!
Yet another quality Cover Reina & Toni !! ' Yeah your voice, could steal a Sailor ... from the Sea ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ '
This song always reminds me of AFROTC Field Training ... officer's basic training ... at Hamilton AFB, California, in 1972. I had a transistor radio and this song seemed to be playing all the time. Good memories. Thank you for singing this.

always love finding a new cover of Brandy. One of my favorite songs of all time.
My sister and I have been signing this song together since we were little kids. ... this song is not from our generation. . Much before our time . Brings back so many memories though.
MERCY!! No two-people-and-one-acoustic-guitar driving along in a van could EVER put out a vibe like this. You never cease to amaze me. LOVE IT!!!
So nice to hear someone of this age paying such time homage to ANYTHING from the Boomer era. Thanks and God bless you!
BETWEEN THE GREAT SINGING AND THE GREAT GUITAR PLAYING - MARVELOUS
Word! Reina wrote many very good words. Now see remembers the words to many fine songs. My word!
The van is named, “Van Morrison”. I’m in love. :D
thats funny
Indeed :'D
"Van Halen" would have been an adequately thoughtful choice I think...
I lol'd. I have to like it for that
My white van is called “Vanilla”.
I'm old enough to remember when this song came out and buying the 45 - that's a vinyl record bigger than a CD but much smaller than an LP, for you young folks. One of my favorite songs and you both knocked it out of the park. Love the guitar finger picking and strumming patterns as well. Simply excellent
check out this perfect cover of this song here. ua-cam.com/video/zJAsOGizkfU/v-deo.html
My sweet BFF and I used to sing this on our way to school in 1972...nice memory
As an old Sailor I have always love the song. You did a great job with it..
I was 13 when this song came out. Toni & Reina were around -25. It was my FAVORITE song for a very long time. The sad thing was that Looking Glass had no follow-up and they ended up being one-hit wonders. I had a chance to see them in 1972. My father took me, but through some delay on his part, we didn't get there until after the show was over!! True story. #parents
If you are a great singer you don't need a fancy studio to sound awesome...I love your songs. Keep up the great work..
Love to see your Van Go! May you two roll on forever.Thank you.
I played the 45 over and over! Looking Glass, 1970 something. I was a freshman in high school so 1972?
Nice van!👍😘
And then, watching the 1988 Summer Olympics, there was a 15-yo gymnast named Brandy Johnson (now Brandy Johnson-Scharpf). Watching her warm up, one of the male color commentators mentioned that she was named after the song, and the female commentator couldn't believe that the song was that old!
No: Six lolol yes I remember, I bet you sang this song to yourself many times like we all did...back in the day 😊
When I heard it in 1972 I was in the 8th grade
lol i feel so young. i love this song tho
Graduated high school in 72 and you couldn't turn on AM radio without this song or American Pie coming on that summer.
My father went to college with guy who wrote this song. Such good memories! Thank you both
First of all, how cool is it that you've got a killer guitarist/backup singer in the back seat. That's great multi-tasking!! Second, I used to wake up to that song on my clock radio just about every day that summer. One of my all-time favourite AM radio hits. You gals rock!! Keep it up!!
Just wondering if the van came with the guitarist. How much is that option
Such a good story too!🙂❤️⭐️⭐️💋💋☀️🔥🕊🦋.

you girls are gonna be so freaking huge someday!!!! I absolutely love you both, you are amazing
Fantastic.
You guys have so much soul you almost make me cry... keep belting out those tunes!

Such joy.. You gals are just a joy
One of my all time favorite songs, named my first daughter after this song, (35 yrs ago) good job, girls.
One of my all time favourites and this is the best cover I've heard. I love what you've done with it. Brilliant, ladies :)
I sang along the first time, and I too, sounded awesome! You girls rock!

Your voice is awesome. Tony is fantastic also.Reminds me of Jim Croce ‘s super talented accompanist Maury Mueshleisen.
Great choice of songs. It's still one of favorites after 45 plus years
That was fun! Loved the rendition of an old favorite! And yes, I was a sailor who relates to every word.
Wow. Just wonderful! (2) beautiful young ladies who show a lot of class while they do their thing! One of my all time favorite songs, and you guys rocked it out! Awesome van song! Congrats on being very talented, and very lovely.

Beautiful ladies, beautiful voice, beautiful song, well done, greetings from Ireland.

Great cover! Not many have done this song, I love it.
Thank you girls for making my day. Beautiful voices and the song was done very well.
