A true classic. Have been listening to this for well over 50 years and absolutely never, never gets old. I do not listen to music on radio much anymore, yet every so often I will turn on an older classic station and sometimes this comes up. What a gem...!
Wow, this sounds as good as it did in 1972. What a classic. And Elliot Lurie looks fantastic- glad to see he's taken great care of himself and looks happy and healthy.
I love watching the video when the song first come out!! I was 16! Always has been one of my all time faves and as a high schooler during that time, loved the long hair on rockers!
So glad Elliott is still performing. The voice is still there too! I grew up listening to this song on WLS, in Chicago. The first time I heard it, I loved it. Brandy tells a story about a hardworking gal and hardworking sailors. I think we can all relate to it and that's a huge part of its appeal. It tells a story. Thanks Elliott for the wonderful memories.
This feel good song was on the radio alot when i was a teenager, everyone sang to it and everyone was so happy while singing it, I still enjoy driving down the highway and cranking this one up

What a Classic Tune that paints a picture during each verse telling a great love story. Try to sit down and write words that don't sound corny or forced. Elliott did a fabulous job in creating perfect wording, chord progression and finally, a phenomenal, silky smooth voice that fit absolutely perfect. He deserves to milk this song in live performances for 40 years!!
In the Summer of 1972 this song was playing constantly on the radio, you'd hear it at the beach. and in jukeboxes, that and "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" i was 15 and both are imprinted in my memory from those good times, and easy going Summer Breeze.
I just watched the original performance video and thought this guy has probably disappeared from the music scene years if not decades ago. So glad to see he's still cranking out this classic!
