    So this video is a bit different as I did very little interior work and primarily focused on the exterior of the car.
    The primary focus was the engine cleaning, it's been 3 years since it was last cleaned. Then it was cleaning the wheels and tires, washing, claying, and waxing the vehicle.
    The interior was very light work. The owner keeps it in great condition. So it was cleaning the front two mats, a super light vacuum, and cleaning the glass and mirrors.
    Enjoy!

    As a detailer, I learned a few things but from the looks of the floor mats as advice from a detailer to a detailer, I feel like those mats could have a had a better scrub like pressure wash, like get the last of that inter grime out.

    Should I have the engine bay cleaning as an additional charge? Like X amount for the detail + whatever for the engine bay? or all inclusive?
    Thanks.

      YES. I do not do packages. If a customer wants the engine, interior, and emblems removed, each one will be a separate price

    How do you guys deal with the impatient customer that expects an interior cleaning to be perfect and then want to rush you? Do you sacrifice the quality of the job? Or do you stress to them that with the extensive staining and dog hair is the reason it's taking to long? This happened to me yesterday on a light tan interior and it was covered in dog hair. I told the customer that it would take awhile but they kept asking when it would be done and said I was taking to long. Any advice??

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  7 років тому +6

      You have to set the expectations from the very beginning. I always tell them, "It will take between 4 to 6 hours, it just depends on the condition. Is that okay with you?". Then explain the process. You don't need to get into super details, but explain steps 1, 2, 3 and that's why it's taking that long. You're getting them proper amazing results

      Detail Groove unfortunately I couldn't get the customers on the same page. The deal was made with the husband the nephew brought the vehicle (he works next door) but the wife was off site. I should have called the wife before I started!! I was having to run the process through 3 people. It's a learning curve. Thanks for your videos and your help. In the near future I would still like to come out to Houston and touch base with you. Thanks again!!

    Great Video! Have you ever used a leaf blower for the drying process? How is that Metro Side blower compared to a good small leaf blower? Is it heavy? It seems that a small leaf blower for $50 or under may offer similar or better performance. Any opinion differences or preferences would be appreciated? Thanks.

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  7 років тому +1

      Thanks! I honestly can't say because I've never used a small leaf blower. I'm the worst when it comes to trying new tools or products lol. This is doing it's job, I'm efficient, so I'll keep at it with this

  • @llelwynboswell2160

    In your opinion, if someone's car has stain in the floor and they want a full detail should the stains be taken care of or would it be better to have "stain removal" as a separate package/cost.? Thanks.

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому +3

      Well, a "full detail" is whatever you offer in that service. So I would say I'm not sure, because I don't offer "full details". If a customer wants a wash and wax, I'll offer that service. If they want their interior cleaned up as good as it can get, I'll offer that service. Unless it's a really big single stain like coffee spill, food spill, a huge stain of some sort, I wouldn't offer "stain removal", I would just go for cleaning their entire interior

    • @llelwynboswell2160
      @llelwynboswell2160 6 років тому +1

      Appreciate it. So all your services are itemized into individual packages with their own prices?

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому +1

      Hardly do I ever get asked for an invoice- just a regular receipt. So yes, if they want a wash and a full interior cleaning, they'd see a wash for $30 and a full interior cleaning for $200

    What parts did you cover with the towel at the start of the video?

  • @DripExplains
    @DripExplains 7 років тому +1

    Were you able to use that hose on the engine bay because of all the plastic covers? Is using a hose in the engine bay something you recommend on all cars?

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  7 років тому +3

      Well it's more so of applying common sense. If it's more exposed areas, like the alternator, battery, air intake, etc... you can cover them up with a towel or a plastic bag. Don't spray directly onto those areas. Ask the customer if they've recently serviced their engine (maybe they were having an electrical problem and something might not be sealed, idk). It's pretty safe if you watch out for that. I never saturared the engine. Just enough to rinse the solution off

    your wheel tools and engine cleaning tools. the lugnut brush. after using these tools on oily dirt. what do you use to clean off the tools? especially the brushes? My green "brush tips" went from green to black after one tire. tried washing it with soap and degreaser, tire spray and nothing worked. I checked to see if theres any dirt stuck inside but don't see any. But at this point i'm only going to use it on tires.

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому +2

      I spray APC and rinse them off when I get back to the shop. I don't try to get them back to perfectly clean green. They're work horse brushes- they're going to get stained and beat up

      yeah it was recommended by dallas detailing auto paint correction channel. its strong as hell. but i don't think its pratical for cars thats never been correctioned or contaminated. i used it on big panels and the water didn't move so fast. Do you think if the paint been corrected to perfection. will this change the results?

    Hi Oscar! I have stone chips on the side and hood of my car (unfortunately) just from normal everyday driving. My question is, how much would it cost to have stone chips repaired and do the results make them look as if they were never there?

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  7 років тому +1

      Hey Jordan! I'll be honest and say I'm not entirely sure. Done right, that's a lot of tedious work. Sanding, touch up paint, sanding, touch up paint, sanding, touch up paint, then polishing.. And because you want it to near perfection, that's even more work..

    • @Jordan-nj2ve
      @Jordan-nj2ve 7 років тому +1

      Detail Groove Yeah, I figured that :/ lol b/c even just touching up with the bottle and brush that came with the car is tough.. you have to have perfect precision to get it just right and even then you still can see where the touch up is. A new car is so much damn work lol

      They fold down into a box the size of a golf bag, so space isn't a super concern. The canopy is 10'x10' wide and can fit most of a large SUV under its shadow for the better part of an entire day. 55 or so dollars for them at Harbor Freight. You can also return it if you don't like it.
