    Thanks for the tips, man! I'm 22 years old and just started my business, Bradley's Auto Detailing, a month and a half ago. So far things have been progressing great! Just wanted to let you know that I get on your channel for any questions I have about detailing here and there and it's been helpful plenty of times. Thanks man, hope you're doing well 🤙🏼

    I love this, this matters so much. As someone who has been doing this for more than a few years now, I always start mostly the drivers side. When the client comes and looks at their car, 90% of the time will go and look at the driver's seat. I will actively walk them to their car and open the driver's door for them. I guide them to the part I know I spent the most time on. Also when they get in their car over the week they won't do full 360's of their car, they will get in and drive. Every time they get in they will be reminded "wow what a great job".

    These are great points, especially doing the hardest work first. For me, the toughest part is usually the carpet, unless I have spills or bad issues with the seats. I like to do any wet work on the upholstery very first so it dries in the course of the job, then finish all the vacuuming. Not only is this the most physically demanding, it's also the noisiest, minimizing noise complaints late in the day. Then I do dash, console, doors, windows etc., before doing a quick final vacuum throughout. This also lets me see the carpet and seats with a new vision after being off them a while, and maybe in a different light of day as well. That's what works for me!

      I had some flyers printed out, and I had business cards made. I went to a car show trying to hand out flyers and I been handing them out to friends & family. Just seems like just getting customers is the hardest part.

    Another great video brother. I'll keep this tip in mind because sometimes I leave the worst for last and by then I'm mentally wore out and the quality goes down especially on the driver side and that's the one area that they will notice if I missed anything. Keep the tips coming!

    Hey Oscar, would you recommend having both a steam cleaner and a carpet extractor? I’m on the fence with possibly getting an extractor only because I may run into the job that may just need it. Would love to hear your thoughts.

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому +1

      In an ideal world, you'd want both. If I had to choose just one, it would hands down be the steamer. Way more versatile

    I like this method! its one thing I never thought of doing but I will in future. The only problem I have is when doing a 3 door car. Climbing over the back of the front seats maybe isnt the best option. How do you deal with 3 door cars? Do you still use the same method? Thanks :)

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому

      Good question. For startes, I'm short (5'5), so it's not all that bad for me. I just push the seats forward and take care of that area first

    Are the outside wash, wheel clean, tire shine part of each service you offer when you quote? or not all the time or do you leave them out as add-ons...I usually wash after the interior and I am tired by then.

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  7 років тому

      Nooo, I don't do any of that unless the customer requests it. I will clean the door jambs and both side of the glass. Of course, if the car isn't that bad or that big, I will do a suupppeerr quick and easy wash. But that doesn't happen match

    So I clean my parents cars whenever needed. I essentially do this, but still got tips. I plan on making my own business I guess you could say. And whenever I do my parents cars or mine I just use q tips to detail, but for my birthday I got a couple hundred bucks. I want to spend it on a great detailing kit, also a really good wax and protective coat with a wax machine. Can you recommend some good kits and wax to me?

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  7 років тому

      If you want to do this as a business (or even just doing it as a hobby), I don't recommend you get any kind of kits. Here's a list of common tools/products I use: detailgroove.co/resources/

    How do you get the deep dirt embedding into the carpet , that seems to be my hardest task I have a rigid 5hp wet dry but can never seem to grab the dirt that's trapped heavily that's where alot of my time goes , what is your best recommendation and products and hardware to use , I have tried agitating with a brush but still cant get it "perfect"

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  6 років тому +3

      I never go for perfect- ever. Other than that, your best bet will be air compressor

  • @AmirAbdullah
    @AmirAbdullah 6 років тому +1

    While I agree with you, I find that leaving the driver side to last is easier for me. Getting the quick stuff out the way and finished done and dressed works for me, take a breather 5, 7 min break maybe 10. But I also work in a shop, makes a huge difference. I can use compressed air tools. Often turning a 5hr interior into 2 and a half. But that’s me , mobile guys gotta really be into the work and chase after it , work quickly effectively, Efficiently staying on task ( turn phone on vibrate off your body) have all the tools necessary at a hands reach. Focus on my focus area and have at it ( I also will have a cold cup or ice coffee ). However I’m digging your videos. Word up.

    • @DetailGroove

    Thanks for sharing all this content man it's great! I would love to see a video of your steam cleaning method to get stains out, I had money to either buy a steamer or an extractor but was told by a lot of people that a steamer would be the best way to go. So now that I have done a few vehicles I am happy with my steamer but sometimes I feel that an extractor would give me better/faster results. I always set customers expectations and let them know that I may not be able to get everything out depending on the type of stain but I am sometimes left wondering if my steam method is not a good one or if I should save up and get an extractor as well.
    Thanks again for all the videos Ive learned alot!

    • @DetailGroove
      @DetailGroove  7 років тому

      Thanks for the kind words! I ALSO had an extractor with the VX5000. Yes, at that the extractor will help out a tons, but hauling another machine (on top of buying it first), the steamer still gets my vote.
      Yes, ideally you'd want to have both. But the steamer is muucchhh more versatile with interior/exterior tasks. What's your current processes cleaning interiors?
