Ive been looking at some Maxpedition bags top use as a patrol bag. I wanted something smallish, but big enough to throw a water bottle, protein bar, beanie and gloves, FAK, clipboard, flashlight, maybe a sweater or raingear, and other odds and ends in it. I narrowed it down to the Active Shooter, Mongo and Jeroboam. Thanks for taking the time to make the review. Youve been very helpful. I think im going with the Mongo, as it seems the most practical.
The 'very top pocket' inner mesh pocket would benefit from having the zipper on the 'bottom' - which effectively becomes the top of the pocket when the pocket lid is opened and the mesh pocket hangs naturally while wearing the bag. Let gravity work FOR you instead of having to hold the flap so that the contents do not fall out when you are wearing the bag and trying to access contents. Also, PALS webbing on the front shoulder strap would be handy for attaching various device/comm pockets. Similarly, more PALS webbing on the front face of the bag - both on the outer pocket (under the main flap) and on the outer surface of the bag's main flap would be very useful.

I feel that is the best way to be honest about a product is to relate it to actual use or at least have some personal historical experience that gives someone a perspective to hypothesis about potential performance. I have a lot of Maxpedition bags, but so far, the Mongo is my favorite for most things.

Seriously good review! I love my Mongo S-Type (I am not lefty I just prefer to carry over my bags the way the S-Type fall). Like most bags Maxpedition makes it bigger than it looks.
@Juice56107 One is an Active Shooter bag with Magazine front, and the taller one is a Colossus versipack. I mention that in the video. i basically was using those two and combined the need into the Mongo.
Was looking for something to upgrade out of my jumbo pack that I have out grown. Not only is it the same style as the versipack bug this bag all ready meets or is going to exceed my expectations! Thanks!
I really like the way you placed the items into the bag while describing the reason in stead of in packing as you went along.
A tip : you can watch movies on kaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.

@Tizmaole Thanks. these bags can fill almost any role, the toughest part is figuring out which bag will serve your role best.

I agree: that one is very annoying, when you open it and everything rolls out if it.
