I am reminded of attending a black Baptist church as a teenager and realizing it was a different experience altogether. Brightly clad choirs singing and dancing down the aisles. Passion in the preaching. Joyous responses from the congregation.

I wish we had gospel churches in the UK maybe then I would be a believer, but we haven’t or not that I’ve heard of anyway, it’s a shame because it’s such happy music. I’d love to go to a gospel church just once to say I’ve been, I’ve seen, I’ve listened and I enjoyed, but alas it’s not to be, I’ve put that on my bucket list though, you never know I might just make it.

Those were horrendous acts committed hundreds of years ago by corrupt and godless men acting under a corrupt and godless church. I am still wrapping my head around this carol that I have sung in choirs from 4th grade through 12th. Heavy metal wasn't even close to being created back then. The ferociousness of your attack shocked me completely..i have viewed this a few times and, as always I find great power and artistry in this interpretation as well.
