I know it's the middle of March and I'm still listening to O Holy Night...yes, and I'm gonna get in a few more listens, 1,000 or so, before binge time in December. Dan's metal version is incredible. I think that it's the best announcement of our Savior's birth that I've ever heard. MAGNIFICENT

Momma passed at 99 on Nov 12,2023. She sang this Holy song every Christmas Eve since she was 14, and like no other. Until now. This version made me smile on this bittersweet Christmas. Thank you.

And this is my favorite Christmas hymn, I sang it a lot in the choirs I was in, while I was in school, and in Church. Only I did it as a soprano. Wow, I had to learn how to soar like a peregrine falcon! Dan does a marvelous alto version. With metal growl! 😊

Dan Vasc doesn't do lukewarm. Just a couple of months ago I also was not a metal fan until I was fortunate enough to experience Dan's unique and beautiful way of covering songs in metal. I am now a proud and unapologetic metal head and loving everything Mr. Vasc does. CHRIST IS THE LORD and SAVIOR!

This first one is his earlier version, recorded in Dan's old studio (inside of his home), seven years ago (May 29, 2016). It's very good, in and of itself. He would have been 26 years old when he posted this version.

Dan has "been on the path" since he was born. He and his brother Davi were brought up to worship and praise the Lord, and they continue to do so. I have listened to this many times, and many of the reaction videos. I think many of the reaction videos are missing how exquisite this is. First, in fine tradition he shows off his great fine voice in the first verse. Building to the second where the full power of his voice admonishes us to fall on our knees. Sounds more like a command than a suggest. Then, devolving into a terrifying metal growl calls out the dark side in all of us that even that part of us must praise his holy name forever. Then the powerful climax, a song of joy and triumph. Christ was born! Thank you! And Kudos!

Dan has indicated (back in November) that he has dreamed for quite some time, of making an entire ALBUM of metalized "traditional hymns." He said that if/when he can make it happen, he will probably place "How Great Thou Art" as the #1 track.
