Lost my father few months ago. He was Welsh and had loved singing and this song was a favourite. Always knew he wanted this song at his funeral. When i opened dads will i was surprised to find it was Dan's version he wanted. So this was what we played. Everyone, everyone loved it.
As i have not seen a comment on it yet, the harmonica was a gift from his father when Dan was 7. His dad died in 2017 from cancer. He did a cover of Elvis's American Trilogy as a tribute.
That cover makes me tear up every time because you can hear and feel the emotion that song evokes in him. He puts his heart into it and boy does it have an effect.

So glad you reacted to Dan - he is amazing. He took lessons, then taught for a while. He's being doing UA-cam videos for over a decade and you can see how he's progressed as you go through them. He worked really hard to get so good. He explained in one of his early videos that he sings each song a minimum of 3 times for different camera angles then uses the best vocal track and does his own mixing and background vocals. His dad gave him a harmonica when Dan was 7 (his dad passed away 6 years ago from cancer). Dan puts his heart and soul into every performance and as you've seen, has incredible control - everything he does is with intention and purpose. He does a variety of styles - all good... Highly recommend his Gethsemane - a truly amazing performance - best I've ever seen/heard by far for that song and I've seen many. Please do more Dan he does everything . He does killer covers of other songs . Sings in the style of many different people. He's an excellent mimic as well as having his own signature sound. Elizabeth, I also love his rendition of “Angels We Have Heard on High”. I listen to it every day. His An American Trilogy “ and “ Hallelujah Chorus “ are outstanding also. Aunt Sharon
I've probably watched about a dozen reaction videos to Dan Vasc's rendition of 'Amazing Grace,' but I've been eagerly anticipating 'The Charismatic Voice' reaction for around 4 months now, or Should I say a month an a half?, since that's when I discovered this really talented singer.
I am 66 and walk 3 miles every day and this is on my playback which I listen to every day.. I can't hear this without tearing up every time and I can't hear it enough!!🙏✝️
The first time a saw this performance by Dan I was speechless, literally blown away. After absorbing the experience, I watched it again, and again, and again. I showed my son, my daughter, my wife. I passed it on to friends,. I watch it most every time the UA-cam algorithm recommends it. But the first person I thought of after seeing it the first time was you, Elizebeth, and how cool it would be to see and hear you experience this. How I missed this video until now, I don't know, but what I do know is that watching you analyze Dan's masterpiece, your reactions and analysis, well, I'm man enough to say that I had tears rolling down my face. I'm still kind of a mess as I type this, so thank you for sharing this with us, it was everything I could have hoped for, and really reinforces my initial experience.
He does some awesome covers of songs you've previously done id suggest shaman fairy tale, wuthering heights, Helloween Halloween. His performance of Gethsemane is a one man stage show with some absurdly high notes, his cover of Manowar black wind fire and steel he holds a scream for 30 seconds. Hail vasc-nation
Elizabeth, even if you don't react to Dan's Nessun Dorma, give it a listen. He holds to classical/operatic style and never breaks. I was fortunate enought to hear Pavarotti in Miami 1986 and no one else since has given me goose bumps and tears with Nessun Dorma. Until Now
I had avoided "reaction videos" for a long time because, well, mostly, who cares what other people think about someone's performance? Similarly, as a Director of musical theatre I don't read critics reviews because I didn't''t stage it for them and I don't care what they think! BUT I stumbled upon your reaction to our (Australia's!) John Farnham singing "Help" by the Beatles and you had me at the first pause where, rather than just say "Wow that was amazing" you demonstrated a clear understanding of "performance" AND went on to articulate an astounding knowledge of the voice and singing. Your reactions are also so delightfully honest and joyous and I've now subscribed and watched so many. Thanks for introducing me to Voiceplay and Geoff Castelucci btw (practicing my subharmonics daily thanks to Geoff!) then one day I came across Dan Vasc singing "Amazing Grace" and thought I must suggest this as a reaction for Elizabeth. Aunt Sharon has beaten me to it! (I'm old and a bit slow these days!) So delighted your reactions were so similar to my own. He is amazing and his rendition of Gethsemane (as a musical theatre person who coveted the role of Jesus but had to "settle" for Judas (poor me! ;) I LOOOOOVE that song) is equally brilliant even if it's not so original in interpretation as his "Amazing Grace". You are a beautifully positive person with amazing depth in your knowledge and a wonderful way of articulating some highly technical "stuff" in a way that both people like me (trained as an opera singer but sold my soul to the corporate devil :| .......) and your average lover of music can appreciate and gain from. Long way of saying "Love your work!" ;)
I have been waiting for this moment. I was wondering what you think about this cover and Dan’s take on it. Great reaction 😊 You should interview him. He has been working real hard as an independent artist. From what I have seen of podcasts, he is a great guy to talk to 😊
Holy shit, what a performance. I came across you by chance. I've been listening to metal for over 40 years, but this blows everything away. If I get the temporal blessing one day, there won't be many songs at my funeral. But this will be one of them. I have goosebumps down to my toenails.
Dan is one of those singers where you can feel how much he's feeling what he's singing so none of it feels like he's reaching. It feels like he's at home in every part of the song. It takes a great singer to draw you into a song and it takes an amazing singer to carry you through it with them and the latter is a beautiful thing. It also doesn't hurt that he's a really good dude.
And what puzzles me is that the Witcher song has over 26 million views, yet Dan is still under a million subscribers! He should have several million subscribers!!
Great reaction to Dan Vasc. He is phenomenal ❤️and also very pretty to look at. His voice, his different styles of music is what makes him a great artist, musician. Addictive potential 💕

I have seen/ listened to this version 100 times at least, and it still gives me chills every single time
Dan's voice is amazing
My feelings exactly!! Thank you, sir!
Hallo
Elizabeth, even if you don't react to Dan's Nessun Dorma, give it a listen. He holds to classical/operatic style and never breaks. I was fortunate enought to hear Pavarotti in Miami 1986 and no one else since has given me goose bumps and tears with Nessun Dorma. Until Now
I get tears and goose bumps every time. Dan's eyes well up with tears as well.
Long way of saying "Love your work!" ;)
How have I never heard this man sing?! He’s incredible! Wow.
I have been waiting for this moment. I was wondering what you think about this cover and Dan’s take on it. Great reaction 😊 You should interview him. He has been working real hard as an independent artist. From what I have seen of podcasts, he is a great guy to talk to 😊
Woohoo! Can't wait to see this one. Dan Vasc is an amazing singer & seems to be a great person.
I love how when he really belts it out she gets so giddy lol Love the raw emotional reactions!
Holy shit, what a performance. I came across you by chance. I've been listening to metal for over 40 years, but this blows everything away. If I get the temporal blessing one day, there won't be many songs at my funeral. But this will be one of them. I have goosebumps down to my toenails.
He does a phenomenal cover of bring me back to life and I'll make a man out of you
Loved your reaction to his unique voice and rendition of this classic. I love when he shifts into his "rock star" voice.
It also doesn't hurt that he's a really good dude.
his cover of toss a coin to your witcher is absolutely out of this world and my first introduction to him as a singer.
And what puzzles me is that the Witcher song has over 26 million views, yet Dan is still under a million subscribers! He should have several million subscribers!!
Me too
Great reaction to Dan Vasc. He is phenomenal ❤️and also very pretty to look at. His voice, his different styles of music is what makes him a great artist, musician. Addictive potential 💕
Yes, I am addicted!
~*Finally someone said it…very pretty to look at indeed*~
>^..^
I get chills every time i watch him. He is so awesome.
FRIDAY NIGHT TIGHTS!!!!
All hail Dan Vasc and Friday Night Toghts!
Dan is awesome!!! Thank you for covering him. ❤
So glad that Dan finally found his way onto your radar! Loved seeing you dissect and discover his singing!
You and millions of others are nerding out about Dan, wait till you hear and see him sing Nesum Dorma! Love love love your reaction as Dan did from his last post. I'll be following your reactions now too. Love from AusX
I play the bagpipes and I just learned something here. Feeling doesn't come from a metronome, it comes from the heart.
Dan has also done a rendition of Nessum Dorma. If you want to check that out, I recommend it
Thank you, I enjoyed so much your in-depth reaction to Dan's brilliant performance of Amazing Grace. I doubt you will ever be disappointed with any of Dan's performances. His versatility and voice is always 100%💗
PLEASE MORE DAN!!!!!
He is a Master of voice. At least 13 years of work on that voice . Much study and practice on his vocal skill. Thank you for this analysis.
