When I was a kid, growing up in the Catholic Church pre Vatican 2, we could only sing English carols until midnight at Christmas midnight Mass. from midnight on, everything was in Latin. It was beautiful.
When my Daddy was growing up,they always went to Midnight Mass. He said that people who were not even Catholic would come because they really liked that particular Mass.

With acoustics being top priority during the construction phase, this truly must have been something to see in person; an unforgettable and magical experience to hear is probably something more appropriate to say.
