There is no feasible way ROTB can fit into the bay-verse. With bumblebee you could maybe argue it’s a prequel with enough mental gymnastics, but with ROTB it’s impossible
@@nicholasstensson9699 I definitely agree with you on the continuity thing 100%, it would take a whole lot of retconning and mental gymnastics to make that canon to Bayverse, but unfortunately the Last Knight proves they are 100% capable and willing to pull nonsense retconning. I hope it's a reboot, and am inclined to agree with you that they shouldn't try to bullshit their way into making it canon, but I've somewhat given up on the hope that they won't
I'm sure there's a joke somewhere about how 'gamer edition' is apt for Bumblebee's design... since he does look pretty out of shape.
That confused me just enough to give me a good HA! when I read the punchline.
Barricade feels like he was designed for the original wfc toyline back in 2010, but they shelved it, then just pulled it out with no changes for studio series. At least if it were made back then the plastic quality and tolerances would've been better. It really sucks cuz Barricade is one of my favorites, and I was super hyped that he was getting a new toy of one of his original designs that I grew up with.

You people don't remember how good figures were back in 2010. They were more complex than modern figures.
@@DiggitySlice In terms of transformation? Absolutely. Especially movie figures. But the og wfc figures like Megatron, Optimus, etc are definitely not up to the modern standards of articulation most figures have had since seige. This Barricade feels more in line with those figures than anything coming out today, except those figures made up for the lack of posing with quality plastic and tolerances.

To be fair, I believe the wave was only supposed to have Optimus. Then were forced to add barricade and bumblebee. All the budget and engineering went to Optimus. That’s why these two here are basically unfinished.
I just had a pretty stressful week and seeing Perspective End being so pissed off at Bumblebee fills me with joy.
Truly my pain is everyone else's Joy.
I have a theory about Barricadr that his toy was designed 10 years ago when the wfc/foc figures were in generations but the designers realized that he wasn't up to par with the figures at that time so they didn't release him. Fast forward 10 years and the new designers just found his old CAD file and just went: "Eh, we'll just use this, all the budget is going to Optimus anyways."

I thought bumblebee was fine, but barricade seems like an actual afterthought of a figure.
He is Deeply Phoned in.
Gotta love how my Energon Starscream, which is just a redone 90’s toy, was able to pose better than both of these. I managed to get him to perfectly pose on top of classics Hot Rod like he was riding him like a surfboard.
In terms of the High Moon Designs I think the Seekers and Swoop look the best, it probably helps they have some vibrant colors.
Energon Starscream is low key a banger though. I got one as a kid and I still have it
Just about the only Highmoon Design I have any tolerance for is WFC Optimus Prime. They honestly ruined him in FOC.

I actually like the old Toy better than the new one for the most part. I actual own the TLK two pack that included that and the TR Kup retool into Orion Pax (that apparently actually has a head that's some kind of Gobots reference?). Love the toonesque deco for the WFC design, to the point where I took off the faction logos and put cartoon stickers, and he honestly works as a true G1 Cybertron Prime.
FOC Soundwave is my favourite Soundwave design, love that design a lot.
@@PerspectiveEndwhile I like almost all the designs save for Grimlock, I agree that FoC Optimus was a MASSIVE downgrade with no explanation. Megatron got smashed and rebuilt by Soundwave, so his new design makes sense. Why the fuck did Optimus suddenly become a brick on blue legs?
I've never been against gun hands, I grew up with the 2007 movie, so Bumblebee and Ratchet (and I think Optimus?) having them felt fine to me. But the moment I got Studio Series Clunker Bumblebee in hand, I knew it was a shitty figure. The elbow joint is like Legacy Scraphook in that it's looser than the peg for the gun arm, so most of the time I'll get the elbow joint stuck in the gun hand while trying to swap them. Gun hands can work in plastic form, just stop trying to remove the entire forearm to do it.
Yeah that's really the biggest thing here. If the arm had to like Split open or something for it, become one with the gun, that's one thing, but it has to come off.
I heard that these two were afterthoughts when the designers only planned on doing Optimus but the upper people at Hasbro wanted to have more figures in the gamer line.
How do you feel about the combaticon designs?
Well😅... This is akward . Like, on one hand, scenes like this 8:25 and 9:10 are enterteining to watch. But from the other hand... I'm not gonna, as much as I like watching you RIP figs a part, watching you call WFC figs pieces of junk is.. Unfortunetly true, with makes it even sadder to me. But o well, it is what it is 😔.
As for the rest of the review, starting with accesories. The reason why Barricade only has one gun is because of the game (also, if you didn't like that gun... Let's just say you gonna see it A LOT in other WFC figures, since this was a starting gun for most of characters) Where this machine gun was his first and only starting weapon. The same can be said about Bee's weapons.
Besides that, "Thatoyguy" brought up an theory that those figures as so low on qualoty, because probadly they were last minit filler figures. And Prime been the only one who REALLY had any buget, because it was the only one planned a head.
And as for the question of the video...

Barricade: condemn him if you will, but I love that bleeding goth mascara face sculpt and I still plan to repurpose him into Crowbar for my Dreads.
Bumblebee: OG mold is the GOAT, especially as Cliffjumper. This one looks like Bee can't figure out who his baby daddy is.
Honestly its hard to tell that he even has weird eyes, looking at this figure normally.
In my opinion I actually like the bumble bee though his transformation can be difficult when you get the conversion down it becomes easier also I think the shoulder thing is a qc issue because on mine it doesn't fall off . As for barricade I'm glade I skipped it just seeing the promotional images I knew he was gonna be bad.
Alright you were totally right about the nightbird comment. Both the mainline and GE were designed by hasbros B team. You should’ve listened to me and done a hound review. Your format is perfect for this now. You could totally do a double review for universe and MS hound. I loved seeing your return to madness, felt like a throwback.
Wow. I don't think I've ever seen you be more infuriated by one singular figures transformation in the history of everything.
If rumours are true its not really the designers fault the original intention was just to make the optimus figure but last minute Hasbro told them to make 2 more at the last minute and with barely any of the budget left for them to use for bumblebee and barricade
i heard a rumor that 'That Toy Guy's' mentioned in his video that WFC Optimus was the only figure that was going to be made, but then CEOs wanted the designers to make Bee and Barricade. Hence why Optimus is more complete (minus the exposed hands in vehicle mode), which is why Bee is mid & why Barricade is so bad, that he's essentially a statue that transforms.
Usually I feel a bit uncomfortable in transformers-net, as I end up disagreeing with many takes most of the community shares. But when I come to PerspectiveEnd it feels like home (*opinions on Japanese Transformers not inqluded). Thank you for making my day!

I really love this bumblebee design and by extension the cliff, but I just can’t bring myself to get either of the figures. The beer belly just does not do it for me.

it's interesting looking at the dev comms and how they talked about they wanted to make the landscape fit somewhere with guys of many different sizes, then you see chars like Bumblebee and Starscream and wonder how they even sit down
Side note: give bumblebee’s sword to Armada Megs to recreate the dagger the original toy had

what i found to be baffling is that primevsprime said that the highmoon bumblebee was the best that he had reviewed. saying that its a strong looking figure. and that its a great update from the 2010 version... including the chest...yeah, totally not shilling on what is just a bad toy at all... (i don't mean to shit on the guy nor do i want it to seem like i want anyone to go after him, i just think he might have a screw loose or something.) ANYWAYS, i hope we get a studio series deluxe TLK barricade in the near future because that design is KILLER!
A lot of reviewers are overly positive. Some times I wonder if I'm the crazy one honestly.

I never played the High Moon War For Cybertron games. So this Studio Series gamer edition subline is the closest I can get to experience it in some way. Beside watching walkthrough of these games.
-Bumblebee looks alright. The game made him look better than the figure. His car front looking like this 3:17 for his chest would have been better design than having a beer gut. To make his legs look better, rotate the waist around, then rotate the legs from the thigh to have the wheels faces outward. Now his ankle tilts direction is corrected. The car parts on his legs facing outward while the leg points being inward is a simple design that Hasbro should have gone with in the first place.
-Barricade looks cool. Would just have his front wheels by his bottom legs and not by his hips.
Like their weapons, would have been nice to have weapons to be hand held too. And their vehicle modes are cool.

@@PerspectiveEnd I have these figures and the Optimus and I’m waiting to open them until I get a new WFC disk, because my childhood one is scratched beyond use… now I am somewhat anticipating opening them to experience what all the fuss is about myself
I apologize for the qc in the bumblebee, my copy doesn't have the issues with the shoulders, backpack, and shins, without those issues, i dont have any problems with the transformation, barricade i passed on incredibly easily, thats a dumpster fire you can sense probably galaxies away, optimus on the other hand i feel like you'll say the head looks too small, but other than that, the figure is essentially perfect

I want to get both at some point, I just wish Bumblebee wasn’t so dumpy and had a proper ankle tilt (though that can be fixed if you don’t mind a hollow crotch) and if barricade had more of an elbow bend and had proper heels

The Black and Purple Prowl sucks, but that's not exactly the design he's known for, that's just them being lazy so they could sell toys more cheaply.

To be honest, I thought you would be reviewing the Studio Series 101 Scourge today. (I'm pretty sure that somewhere you said that you acquired that figure.)
I have, and I planned to review it soon, then the movie came out, and it was mid enough to make me mostly stop caring.
While I really don't care that they were horrible because I never cared about the High Moon Games, if these figures are indicative of the quality of all the figures made in the gamer edition subline, i am very worried about the possible figures for the Dotm game like Warpath and Air raid.

And here's the thing. He's not even. Like he's KIND of a Rival to Bumblebee, in the movies but really only the first one, and it's really only because they are the only two people around for most of the movie.

As much as I dislike the designs of these cybertron games too, I do appreciate how the Bee toy design is accurate to the actual game character design. Bee is pretty much just a stubby chubby little guy
It's definitely a lot more so than the Barricade.
So, uh, conclusion of this ordeal? Arm-cannons do not work on Transformers and Perspective does a maniacal laugh that succeeds at being funny yet unnerving.
That point when you got bumblebee in car mode got me dying.

If I didn't know any better, I would've assumed that these two figures were from Buzzworthy Bumblebee. I don't think I've seen a figure that has so fundamentally failed at everything it tried to do since that rancid 4 pack from the Kingdom days. Figures like this must have been forged in the same factory as Dai-Atlus, where they only use the worst possible plastic and test every tolerance to make sure that everything is far too loose to be enjoyable.

How on earth did Bumblebee wind up worse than his last figure? The last High Moon Bee is more than 10 years old at this point, there’s no excuse to be going backwards at this point.
Should have rereleased the original Universe WFC Bumblebee figure. It was legitimately more accurate in every way, not to mention the plastic quality.
Actually, all of those 2010 figures for the WFC game should have either been rereleased, or retooled for modern budget and plastics and upscaled in the case of Optimus and Megatron. Maybe Soundwave too.
To be honest, I think most people hate the GaMeR eDiTiOn Barricade. So you're not alone there. Not sure about Bumblebee.
I mean I would question the credibility of anyone trying to give this a positive review.

I'm seriously hoping for a figure of Grimlock in this subline. If Planet X Vulcan is a somewhat good figure, then Hasbro would be stupid not to try and capitalise on him by making their own.

The only reason the characters look like that in vehicle mode is for third person gameplay only. That's why bumblebee has wheels instead of being just a saucer.

Ok so I do own bumblebee and one thing I can agree on is that his transformation does suck really bad, but once you know on what your doing you should be ok, but on my copy he doesn’t have the shoulders popping off, nor having any lose joints, and not having any problems with it, as for barricade I don’t have, but what I’ve heard from him, he’s probably the worst figure out of all the war for cybertron gamer edition figures, I have optimus prime gamer edition and I really like him, he poses great and he holds up pretty well, idk if you would like him, but I would recommend on liking gamer edition optimus prime more than barricade because he pretty much might be the best gamer edition figures of all time, idk if you would like the design, but I’m sure you would like the figure maybe, also optimus prime doesn’t have a transformation we’re it’s struggling, it’s actually really fun and interesting, better than bumblebee and barricade transformation, so in my opinion, I would recommend on liking optimus prime more than the other two figures.
Man I envy you, the shoulder pieces popping off were the bane of my existence, but when it did pop off during transformation it at least let the arm get through the hole without popping that whole assembly off.
