  • Time to rebuild the 4efte cam cover I bought for my EP91 Toyota Starlet turbo build, re-attached the cleaned baffle, also installed new spark plug tube seals and PCV valve. Same procedure for assembling a Race spec. rocker cover for Glanza and Starlet GT Turbo. Another rare JDM part rescued!

i now need to do this since the previous owner of my terc (5efe engine) decided not to do any oil changes nor maintenance at all, ive went through 3 pcv valves this week because of how dirty and sludged up the cover baffles are, right now i left it soaking in degreaser, tomorrow im going to do this same procedure, since all this drama made my engine now consume oil and smoke gray tinted clouds, for reference, what thread tap did you use? as well as the drill tap diameter, please, thanks in advance, compliment time: that job looks very very, VERY tidy and nice hehee

Thanks. The Tap is M6 x 1mm thread and the drill size for it is 5mm.

I have a question and if you could help i would be grateful. I was trying to make the breather and pcv valve go in to a oil catch can, i managed to do it and everything is ok. My problem is that trying to cut that small pipe so i could jb weld a fitting over it, i put in some soft paper so metal shavings wouldn't enter the rocker cover.. And when i tried to remove the paper, it fell in, it was a relatively small piece, i removed the cover, i washed it, brake cleaned it, even used compressed air, and it wouldn't come out through the channels in the cover.. could this potentially be a problem?

It could be worse, at least paper is soft and you said it is a small piece. Have you tried to vacuum it out (hoover)? Blowing it through would just push it into a baffle. If it was my car I would like to remove the paper, it may degrade over time and find its way into the engine. It is your choice to make based on how small the paper was.

@@dan91sgarage i have tried it yes, but unfortunately i couldn't take it out, i am counting on the disintegration of the paper.. i might disassemble it like you have done. Thank you anyway, have a good one.

It's just to make insertion easier, if you got it in dry then it's fine!
