  • How to install a turbo oil drain fitting in a 4efe sump on EP91 Starlets. I also decided to replace the oil pump pickup tube o ring whilst I was in there (same procedure for 4efte / Glanza / Starlet GT turbo). Found a nice surprise for once regarding the crank!

Update: I just compared the crank part numbers on a Toyota parts site. The EP91 4efe and EP91 4efte cranks are the same part number (13401-11061) so should all be 4et cranks used 🙂! The earlier 4efe in the EP82 and 101 corollas use a different part number so this may well be the 4e marked crank.

nice video but u should have also remove the pressure relief valve and add a flat washer to shim it , that basically add 15 to 20 psi of oil pressure back to the engine . remember that the turbo oil feed is letting off a about 10 psi of oil pressure .

I've checked the Toyota part numbers and both 4efe and 4efte engines use the same oil pressure relief valve. Part number: 15310-10010. Plenty of people run turbos without shimming. I understand where your coming from and each to their own.

My 4efe oil pickup strainer in rectangular. The fte should be circular as yours. Can I use the rectangular one on the fte engine?

Don't know Frankie. My oil strainer is oblong shaped (2 x straight sides, 2 x half round ends) From the photos / diagrams I can find the 4efte EP91 should have a metal plate attached between the 3 legs. I believe this may act as a baffle to help keep oil in the sump. The EP91 4efe doesn't have this plate. Also the EP82 oil pickup and sump are shallower than EP91.
