This foundation tip can change your life. It will change the way you apply foundation forever ...
My handcrafted Japanese brushes available to ship worldwide here: bit.ly/1OvBzAR
This trick will hold your foundation in place all day. No excess post powdering. It will also fill in pores and some fine lines! I KNOW! We've been told to powder after foundation, and this makes total sense. And it works. But what works really well is to powder before foundation. After moisturiser and primer THEN YOU POWDER. Then you apply foundation OVER THE POWDER! This will fill in pores. But what it will do is keep your foundation in place all day. If you have dry skin you will not need to powder your foundation after. You can just leave it. For those with very oily skin you will need a touch of powder on the t-zone only. Give it a go. Let me know what you think and the results :) Oh and thumbs up! Thank you!

Wayne Goss and it mostly happens when I use your full tutorial, like step 1. Moisturizing
      Step 2. Primer
      Step 3. Foundation
Then concealer 😞...... But nothing works, and whenever I use only foundation on my face , it looks perfect just like my original skin

It's 2021. I just saw this video yesterday. Although skeptical, because let's face it wet product over dry defies logic, I gave it a try today. I really tested it too. I attended a dance recital, luncheon & game night. The temperature was an unforgiving 91 F! I'm 56, my skin's normal, I don't have wrinkles but I do have one fine line between my brows that makeup always seems to highlight IMHO. I have typical discoloration that's the reward for all those fabulous '80s sun tans I got. I began with my fave tinted moisturizer I always prime my skin with. Next, like Wayne demonstrated, I lightly dusted my face with my Chanel medium color loose powder. Then I went for it & put one pump of my The Ordinary Serum Foundation on the back of my hand & used my finger to gently dot it on my face using my foundation brush to buff it out over the powder. And you know what? It worked just like he said it would. I was expecting a cakey mess, but nope. My skin was covered yet it felt light & the annoying little line between my eyes was surprisingly camouflaged! I applied a little concealer but way less than I normally use. I went about my day schvitzing from the heat & blotting my face with a tissue as one does. Usually on hot days my makeup melts off & when I go to remove it with my wipes there's nothing left, but not this time. I couldn't believe when I took my makeup off tonight how much came off on the wipes. This technique really made my makeup last all day & night. I'm amazed.

Hello Wayne, I don't wear concealer, foundation or any cover up but will start wearing a little to start wearing some makeup which I am fairly new to.
I always wear SPF, Where does it fit in this routine or any in general. I use my obagi kit so last is spf then I wear becca backlight on top or just the shimmering skin perfector to highlight which just does everything for me. Very simple. I own most shades. I am learning to contour etc.
hoping that's the correct order or now charlotte t wonderglow, will look into getting her light foundation.
Now with summer coming, I am concerned which comes before what. Please help clarify this for me.
      Thank you.

Amazing tip. True story. I have tried every tip under the sun to help me apply foundation to my nose. I have oily t-zone and large pores. My foundation usually looks really patchy on my nose after four hours, with various foundations. Tried using translucent powder prior to my application. My foundation remained flawless for over 12 hours. Really works. Thanks so much for this game changing advice!!!

Wish I saw your comment a long time ago! I too have a very oily nose and my foundation always looks splotchy after several hours. To get it to stay all day, I use my face primer all over except for my nose and eyelids. I use Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer on my eyelids AND my nose! Then I spritz a little setting spray right on my nose, wait till it dries, and then I apply my foundation. It seriously lasts all day - no breaking down, no looking splotchy and it doesn't cause me to break out. The eye primer is made to absorb excess oil from your eyelids so your shadow goes on smoothly, doesn't crease and lasts all day and it really truly works for your nose too! I swear by this technique and it has truly been a life saver for me.

Yah ! After applying Very little powder just enough to counter the excessive slippery feel of the primer. Make sure not to over powder it coz that will make it hard for the foundation to glide on properly.
Use the concealer after the foundation coz it creases a lot less under the eye n also doesn't slip from the places where we usually color correct n cover blemishes Sidra Fernandez

aMusingMisFIT-tingINMaYhem MouSe Instead of a brush for powder, have you tried just a little bit of powder on a cotton pad and lightly press it on? Or, if it's too much moisturizer, take a tissue and press it lightly over your face to blot the excess before you powder. Just ideas. It's possible that you have very dry skin and need a stronger moisturizer.

Not powdery whatsoever and my oily-ness stayed at bay just as well if my powder was on top. It was amazing, since because I have oily skin, I have to use powder, but I've always hated the way powder made me skin look since it would look so obviously I was wearing makeup, but now with this, it just looks like skin but wayyy better! I've been doing this with my undereye area for a while. I have dark circles genetically. So at some point I wondered if adding powder before concealer would make it stay and look better. Because putting powder on top would make it look very powdery. And it does. I do add a layer of concealer first, though. So it's eyecream, concealer, powder and another layer of concealer. Never had better results.

i tried this technique and what a big difference. before i did foundation , concealer , powder then setting spray it feels like the makeup is not part of your skin, it has the tendency to be cakey. but when i did the powder, foundation sequence and using WG technique of properly doing the foundation, my makeup looks like its part of my skin, its not super oily, it has a glowing effect. their is a big difference usingthese sequence

Twenty years ago, when I was in high school and just learning about make-up, I had a make-up artist at a Merle Norman counter show me to ALWAYS powder after moisturizer and before foundation. I did it that way for years until new brands, formulations, and ideas came on the scene. Everywhere I went during those "powder before" days, I was constantly asked what I did to make my skin so pretty and even was asked by friends/family if I would do the make-up for their weddings/proms (I was not a make up artist, I was in healthcare). I'm so glad you reminded me of this technique. I can't wait to go back to my old ways and have a "new " face routine! Thank you!!!!!

I had a feeling this would be the tip, to use powder first and then the foundation. I have tried this before. I feel like you have to work more quickly with the foundation otherwise it dries really fast over the powder and it could be patchy, at least on ME, it might work great on other people.

I have been doing this for a few years. I thought I was the only one crazy! 😄
In summer, my skin tends to be super oily. So straight away, I first use powder and then a day cream or foundation depending where I'm heading. Glad to see a beauty guru suggesting my idea.
It's ok. I'm not gonna claim for copyright. 😉

I'm male with 48 years. I have worn makeup almost everyday since I was a teenager in the early 90s. I trained as a makeup artist in the mid 90s, and started working immediately after completing makeup college. If I'd seen this video when it was originally posted I would have thought you were insane - foundation over powder?? Really? LOL. I tried your technique today with sunscreen instead of primer and the results were, or rather are, outstanding. It is now 3pm and my makeup looks even better than when I applied it this morning at 9 am. I'm wearing foundation, full coverage concealer (I have very dark purple-brown pigmentation, so its my only option), blush and contour. It's a warm day here in Melbourne, Australia and I've had a physically demanding day. I can't believe the longevity and minimal creasing around my eyes. I have been searching for a solution to concealer creases since those pesky wrinkles popped up a couple of years ago. Forget Dick Page and Kevyn Aucoin, you are my new makeup hero, Mr Wayne Goss. And I can't wait to try your loose powder, blushes and contour shades. I want it all. Cheers. X

I'm doing this every day, and as he says, make up lasts whole day even longer.
I use brushes for powder and foundation.
    1 daycream
    2 light concealer
3 self mixed foundation (a mixture of several diff foundation tones in an empty pot (with some loose powder, all mixed to match skincolour)
4 again some powder blushed all over face
5 a darker or glimmer powder as finishing blush.
    6 eyes and brows: 5 to 10 " work.
