    I really appreciate seeing foundation and skin in 4k!! It's so much more realistic and really helps me to set realistic expectations for how make-up will look in real life. Just knowing a lot of what I see isn't realistic doesn't seem to work for me - I need to actually see it. I also agree with some of the other commenters - a tutorial for applying foundation to dry skin and avoiding micro-exfoliation would be so helpful!

    I have stopped watching so many other beauty channels to focus on the basics again. So many of them are based on pushing products, where Wayne is about techniques. He never even said what he's using and it really doesn't matter in the end. This is so focused on using what we have already to get what we want.. with the right steps to do it in. So many others are focused on pushing new things. Even with it being a full coverage product it looked great. I'm going to try this with concealer for more full coverage days, and a light coverage foundation for normal days. Thanks again Wayne!!

    I needed this tip! Thank you! 💕. Update: couldn't sleep and it's 4:30 a.m. because I just had to try this technique so I dug out my professional makeup brushes which I don't believe I ever used. I finally got used to using sponges but before that I always applied foundation with my fingers so using tools felt odd to me. However, I had to try this technique with the foundation and I am just amazed at the result. I didn't even have to build it, one thin layer dried perfectly and I feel like I don't even need powder. Which is good because at my age, 56 the powder just makes my skin look cakey. So glad to see this video come in. I dreaded doing my foundation but now I'm excited about it. And that says something because it's 4:30 a.m. 😂 Thanks Wayne. You're videos are so informative and watchable. Some UA-cam makeup videos are just too much drama. Thank you for being normal. Lol

    One of the best tips you gave years ago "little goes a long way" and "less is more" especially on mature skin like mine. At the age of 49 I can honestly say that my make up is a mysterious to some people, it is visible and Invisible at the same time . A lot of women ask me what I do. The short answer is that sometimes less is more ..

    • @sarahbear270
      @sarahbear270 3 роки тому +3

      @@spookylovely Good technique tips, but for those of us with that desert-dry, flaky skin, "completely moisturized" doesn't really seem to exist (at least in my experience!) so no matter how gentle you are, how much exfoliating you've done, or how much moisturizer you've applied and let soak in, flaky makeup is unavoidable... :(

I have an issue with either my pores looking massive or the bit/crease around my nostrils turns into a huge canyon. It also always looks cakey. I'm going to try this technique and hope it works. I love videos like this!! Also, hi, dry skin here, and a technique i learned from watching korean muas about how to make foundation stick to the skin without buffing it too much is apparently to apply a thin layer of foundation with a brush then dabbing it lightly with a sponge all over until they set, then move on to apply a next layer only on areas where you need more coverage (there's a lot more to this technique, including the trick to dipping the brush right into foundation but I suck at explaining with words only TT)

    Wayne, what about dry skin? I feel like when I use a brush it acts as an exfoliater.

    • @Glammums
      @Glammums 3 роки тому +2

      Unfortunately us with dry skin need to use our fingers or my preferred option is a sponge. Same technique though build it up. 💕

    • @spookylovely
      @spookylovely 3 роки тому +2

      What works best for me is to apply with fingers, tap gently and really work it in on the side of noses or any dry areas, then blend with damp sponge, apply in thin layers (using brushes sometimes can be too abrasive for dry skin). Same concept but different application, and your skin has to be completely moisturised
