      Seriously... I would hire his voice to be on call for when I have a panic attack or just general bad day. He could recite the periodic table or the instructions to operate a toaster for all I care. It's almost like auditory Xanax ( meant in the highest praise). For example he could tell me "Unfortunately, Tina Merrie, there is the largest spider I have ever seen on your head. But I'm going to show you today how we're going to get rid of it. Just blend it out of our lives" and it would be the only instance possible in which I did not completely scream and turn into an air ninja with flailing arms and tears.

    Finally !!!! to watch a guy, using good skincare, and maintaining it with sunscreen, and makeup, that looks natural, and perfects the skin. I have been trying to encourage the men in my life to protect and maintain their skin, so they look their best, but their macho attitude , is their worst enemy, and I tell them that too. Our society needs to make a point to encourage men to take better care of their skin , so they can feel better about themselves, without feeling guilty. due to the false information, they have been told since they were "lil" boys. Our world is changing, and myths need to be spoofed away, so we can experiment ,and experience, life the way we were intended to. Wayne, you actually apply makeup, better than a lot of women do, probably , including myself. So glad, I ended up on your site, I will
    continue to watch you , and actually learned a lot, watching this video today. !!!! I was very impressed, and I also love the accent, and tone in your voice, very soothing. Thank your for this interesting and informative video. Carol Smith-Blum

      I have always felt men have given better advice for more natural, beautiful results. As women we are so critical and more about hiding everything and reaching perfection. So sometimes i have noticed in the younger people giving tutorials, that they use a very heavy hand. Might be ok when younger but once over 27 or so it ages you.

I have been a follower of yours for, what seems like the beginning and Ive always appreciated the fact that your techniques aren’t meant to completely change the way one looks, rather enhance the beauty each of us already posses. I'm super oily too! This is exactly how I apply my foundation. Mind you I'm a boy who wears makeup so I try not to make my makeup looking too too obvious. The idea is to look fresh and awake. I use combination of cream stick and liquid matte foundations. But in very small amount. Even though I'm super oily, I won't be using only matte foundation or I'll end up looking cakey and the makeup will look split by midday when it gets hotter. I also will use pressed powder to set the makeup but just light touches, or I'll look super cakey!

    This is a Game Changer! Back when we were Beating our Face, it involved so much makeup and I don’t think that makeup looking realistic was even a goal. So now, natural, my skin but better, is my goal, and I’m using less foundation and concealer, the buffing of them into the skin, and patting my face to remove excess foundation/primer, can really get me where I’m trying to go. You’ve been teaching us about buffing product into the skin a long time. But the technique to set the skin is what I’m excited to try

    I apply my foundation the way you showed us years ago, in a circle. I even bought a spinning brush after I saw your video about applying in circles. It's made all the difference. It truly does hide the pores much better by buffing in circular motions. I also prime my skin using - believe it or not - feminine hygiene product 'Monistat chafing relief powder gel' because I read somewhere that it's nearly identical in formulation to a high end primer! And it works GREAT! It hides my dry skin and takes all the shine off my face so all the look of fine lines disappear. I use it on my bare face on no makeup days. I use MAC paint pot soft ocre as eye makeup primer and concealer.

    Great tips as always! I was a Bare Minerals gal for most of my adult life and loved the way it felt, like nothing at all. Now that I am older with dryer skin it just doesn’t work for me as well. The problem is that after wearing a mineral foundation for so long I really hate the feel of a liquid foundation because for lack of a better word, it just feels icky to me even though I don’t use it heavily. The tip about using a tissue on the sponge to bounce around may be just the thing to get rid of that icky feeling! I can’t wait to try it out!

    This is exactly how I was taught to apply foundation, although I have to use a sponge around my eyes and a powder foundation on my awful awful oily ears.
    Blotting is one of my most important steps as I have Asian double lids and a sunken under-eye where oil will pool. I rarely take foundation across most of my upper/mobile lid as the skin is very opaque and I like the natural darkness to create some depth there.

    That blush is beautiful on you. I was shocked watching you do those large circles for your blush however the result is fantastic. I cannot wait to try this tomorrow. As I am now over 50 I’ve been moving my blush higher and higher up my face over the years… yet I always feel my blush is not blended enough. You can see where it stops and starts. I’m definitely going to try your technique of big, light handed circles..
    By the way Mr. Wayne, a while back I watched a video of you doing concealer just on the inner corner. I wanted to say thank you. I have been doing your and it truly looks so much better. My under eye skin under my lash-line is starting to get a little “crepey”.
    Your advice has definitely improved my appearance..
    Thank you truly…❤️

    Wayne I have to tell you I appreciate your tips and honesty. Back in the late 60's early 70's I was in Beauty School up in Albany, I was telling the instructors there that I would like to develop a makeup line for men, they almost laughed me out of school. Those were much different times then,, glad they're gone for the most part.

    One of the best tutorials I've seen for foundation. I grew up in a time when foundations were expected to cover all flaws and signs of aging. Such nonsense! Take care of your skin over the years (sunscreen, an effective skin care routine) and you won't need to hide your skin in older age. (Can't be done, anyway, right?) I'm 67 and feel good enough about my complexion that I wear nothing but powder (and some under-eye concealer) on most days and a tinted moisturizer on the days when I want a smoother look.

      @leapling puff Yes, it is! It’s so good though. Try to look for it on their sale page. I noticed the last two times they had the cushion compact super reduced in price. And it’s the same formula as the one in the bottle. And even the old bottle should be reduced in price since they changed bottles.

    What do you suggest for someone who gets flakey dry skin in there T-zone? Regardless of whether I've exfoliated, using a brush or a sponge it never looks smooth. Like you said people look straight at that area, so it really bothers me that I don't know what to do with it 😅 any tips would be much appreciated

      I face the same problem but below my cheeks

    • @couldnotstop1092
      @couldnotstop1092 3 роки тому +5

      Same problem. I recommend using a chemical exfoliant at night, then use a hydrating cream. In the morning, after washing your face, use a few dots of a facial oil. I’ve used Smashbox Primer Oil and also The Ordinary Plant Based Squalane oil. The key is to never drag your finger in that area, everything is tapping. Sometimes if I’m really dry I will actually take 1 drop of oil and tap it gently on my nose just before foundation. Avoid touching your t-zone frequently before/during makeup application. Every touch has the potential to flake. Using a wet sponge and a liquid foundation will also help. Use as little product as possible to avoid creasing.

    Okay, it's official. Wayne is magic. I'm not sure how this is different to what I was doing before, but for the last few days, I have been applying foundation just as he does here, basically spending more time blending, blending, blending, with a fluffier brush than my foundation brush, and the result is at least 100% more natural-looking and longer lasting than just applying, powdering, and setting with spray. (I still powder & set) In places I need more coverage, a second application of foundation and more blending do the trick. Such a simple, but effective change in strategy!

    Makeup transfer: How do you avoid getting face and neck makeup onto your shirt/others' shirts (i.e., cheek kiss, hug)?

    • @buyerbware25
      @buyerbware25 3 роки тому +28

      Tissue technique + setting spray cuts down on transfer. Also, it helps if you do not use moisturizing products of any kind, but many people never wear makeup without moisturizer. Anything that will completely eliminate transfer is probably too harsh or damaging for your skin, but blotting and setting spray will keep transfer to a minimum.

      Not sure but I personally blot with a beauty blender. I have a few of them. They’re not really beauty blenders, they’re knock offs. I’ll use one to apply my foundation and another clean one to blot (absorb oil) once a day. I keep it in a sandwich bag and at the end of the day I wash it & let it dry over night.
