Yeah, no one is taking a floor model hydraulic jack to their next bike theft. You'd never cut that chain with even a 6 ft hand cutter! (Much less a 3 ft cutter)
Well it only took 899,999 pounds of pressure to crack it once. I'd say it's pretty safe to use when my eyes are off of my bike for 2 minutes. I don't even like to leave my bike alone for 2 minutes, even with multiple locks on it :D
I’m not so sure. If you attack it with a battery-powered unit and a 5” cutting disk, I’m thinking you may either run out of disks or battery before you make two complete cuts in the link. If the grinder really goes after it, then you are spraying shards of hardened steel all over the place, which constitute a health hazard to the thief, depending on the quality of his face guard, gloves, and any other exposed skin.
No thief will have a set up like that . Your not gonna cut it by hand . An angle grinder will take 10plus minutes and be loud. Fort9 does a more practical test on the chain
So that's like nearly minute to break. Which means whoever tries to cut it with regular bolt cutters is going to need to hit the gym and and get ripped because you need inhuman strength to get the cutter to cut without hurting yourself in the process. Not worth it my guy. Walk away and be a nice person.
You have to admit the test is not fair. The thief cannot crank out the same power as that , whatever your cranking. And he would have a lot explaining to do if caught with the tools your using.
La única manera de cortar esa cadena es con una cizalla de 42 milímetros, y con presión hidraulica, nadie carga una cizalla en su maleta y menos tiene una persona esa fuerza en las manos
You would never be able to grab this chain this way if it was locked.... Not a realistic test at all. If you would've grabbed it sideways, you either would be cutting them at the end of the jaw where you have less leverage or both sides of the link at once.
We got a failure? 😂😂😂 yeah like people are going to carry that kind of tool around lol and then u need to do another cut 😂😂😂 so yeah il carry on using mine lol
So basically if someone wanted to steal a bike, they would need much more than a hand held bolt cutters to break thru this.....??? If so, im impressed. because if they need the equipment you have in this video, it would made so much noise, the owner would come out with a glock and kill someone.....LOL NYC, is notorious for bike thefts and yes that includes motorcycles.
What exactly does this prove? I'd like a good bike chain lock. Looks like this one takes some kind of hydraulic force to break the chain, but he did not try to spread it open to separate it from the next link.... One can destroy anything given the right tools, time and facility. What I'd like to know is if a bicycle thief could do this in the street in a short time *and* actually take the bike, not just shear one link... Pretty useless review of the chain for its intended purpose.
@@Daniel-ie3mt Well, you have a point. But it's not a review pro or con for real life efficacy of the product for its intended use. I'd like to see a real life demo of what a real bike thief could or would likely do to disable this chain/lock and steal a bike.

Okay but even if he didn't use ratcheting bolt cutters a handheld power tool can still cut through this lock in less than a minute
You're not going to get far trying THAT in the High Street! What about power tools like a grinder?
Im gonna buy that one!
No thief will have a set up like that .
Your not gonna cut it by hand .
An angle grinder will take 10plus minutes and be loud.
Fort9 does a more practical test on the chain
kryptonite doesn't make 13 mm chains, i see 12 mm and 14 mm
So that's like nearly minute to break. Which means whoever tries to cut it with regular bolt cutters is going to need to hit the gym and and get ripped because you need inhuman strength to get the cutter to cut without hurting yourself in the process. Not worth it my guy. Walk away and be a nice person.
Has anyone heard of a cordless grinder....WAKE UP!
@0:57- 1:35 WTF is going on??
So yeah, this is a bad ass bike lock. I’m obviously not locking my bike in a metal shop...
mate, you evidently using too low security for that cutting....:L
try heavy pyrotechnic suit instead.
You have to admit the test is not fair. The thief cannot crank out the same power as that , whatever your cranking. And he would have a lot explaining to do if caught with the tools your using.
Grayman423 no the thief would just crank out a battery powered saw blade and be done in 30-60 seconds
La única manera de cortar esa cadena es con una cizalla de 42 milímetros, y con presión hidraulica, nadie carga una cizalla en su maleta y menos tiene una persona esa fuerza en las manos
You get to CUTS it TWICE
Not sure the point? That a machine bolt cutter can cut a link? Ok
This is silly. What thief is going to approach a bicycle on the street with all of the gear used in this video?
Congratulations you half ruined your expensive chain with your contraption that no bike thief would carry in public
Even with a cut hold together, I dont thing a dude with a hand bolt cutter can do it even with all his body weight.
You would never be able to grab this chain this way if it was locked.... Not a realistic test at all.
If you would've grabbed it sideways, you either would be cutting them at the end of the jaw where you have less leverage or both sides of the link at once.
but thief this days dont use boltcutters anymore i heard they have a new motto they said "IF YOU CANT TAKE IT BLOW IT" :(
We got a failure? 😂😂😂 yeah like people are going to carry that kind of tool around lol and then u need to do another cut 😂😂😂 so yeah il carry on using mine lol
I don't think you can cut that chain in the real world.....under controlled conditions yes.....but on the street no
So basically if someone wanted to steal a bike, they would need much more than a hand held bolt cutters to break thru this.....???
If so, im impressed. because if they need the equipment you have in this video, it would made so much noise, the owner would come out with a glock and kill someone.....LOL
NYC, is notorious for bike thefts and yes that includes motorcycles.
hoi! ik komm uits de nederlands
I'd argue that it's a very useful review because it shows just how hard the product is to destroy
@@Daniel-ie3mt Well, you have a point. But it's not a review pro or con for real life efficacy of the product for its intended use. I'd like to see a real life demo of what a real bike thief could or would likely do to disable this chain/lock and steal a bike.
Unfortunately, for someone who knows what they are doing, it takes about 60 seconds to pick the lock. So, there is that. ua-cam.com/video/SpVOTEOMRuE/v-deo.html
This guy is a goofball
So, you were able to prove you can ruin bolt-cutters.... good for you......
Strong cutter, but you bike thief doesn't sneak around with one strap to on his back.
