I deliver straight talking, easy to follow, honest, professional, calculated advice to all of my viewers from beginner to tour pro. This tried and tested method of coaching has helped many golfers achieve their personal goals and beyond.
I appreciate the historical accuracy of adidas spikes that they had back in 1919. An often missed touch. Great vid Pete!
dont forget his apple watch.....
@@epicsuf5200 😂😂😂
hahahaha i said the same thing
Often? Like he has done this before?
You want him to find a cobbler to make him some golf shoes? gtfo
My great grandfather was born in 1919 and hes still alive and kicking! Hes about to have his 101 birthday in October.
Hope he has a happy birthday
Wish him all the best
Did he play golf?
Hope he’s still doing well!! I bet he’s a true national treasure 💙
Who gives a shit
Attire of the day and Adidas golf shoes... PRICELESS!!!
YES THAT IS MAD :D
No way was I making round 18 holes in the 100 year ones!
@@peterfinchgolf blisters galore i imagine if you did try it.
@@peterfinchgolf I imagine the knickers were scratchy enough ...
So we just gonna ignore that old guy hitting absolute BULLETS the entire round.
"I don't hit 'em very far, but I hit 'em straight"
He can play. For sure.
I’m pretty sure that’s Pete’s dad, could be wrong though.
Check that, it’s not Pete’s dad.
he grew up playing with these clubs he got advantage lol j/k
Played the Kings, Queens and PGA. Seeing the holes again brought back some happy memories.
That 2 iron looked more like a gardening tool than a golf club 😅
Looked more like a putter!
You should see the 1 irons of the period if you want ot see a proper butter knife. Forgan and Tom Stewart made some beauts.
You should do a hickory club challenge with rick shields to see who is king of the hickory clubs
Andrewsmith03 we’ll have to see!
Nah, don’t waste your time and effort. Finchy always beats Rick. It’s almost not a fair fight anymore
I would love for this to happen
@@ultrapail I dont care who wins there both good and the banter is top quality
That swing at 4:19 tho pete!!!👌👌👌👌👌👌
Absolutely loving the content recently! Think having Carly involved works so well too!!
I Love these kind of Golfcourses. I used to work as PGA Golfpro Apprentice on Royal Hague Golf and Country club in the Netherlands. I was further lucky enough to play Hillside and Royal Birkdale many years ago. Beautiful such golfcourses.
I have a partial set of spalding blades. Rusted through the chrome. Currently cleaning them up looking forward to see how they perform.
Flipping brilliant; loved every minute. It took me back to when I played both the Kings and Queens courses. I have fond memories of the Halfway House too.
Smart set of threads on show and Carly looked like she had just come from Downtown Abbey
Cheers
Not gonna lie... that outfit is friggin tight! Wish we still dressed to the nines to do every little thing nowadays. It used to be a testament to the fact that you simply loved being in the public amongst your brothers and sisters.
There is a group of players in N Texas that have tournaments every month or so and all they use are hickory shafted clubs. I ran into them at one of my local courses and they let me take a few shots with a wood shafted iron. It is so different but yet you do get a connection with the roots of this game we all love.
That was brilliant, my dad was born in Blackford just along the road and I caddied on the kings in my teens. So many great views and memories. Thanks Peter
daviemor amazing 👍
Yay! More Carly! She's got you totally figured out Mr Finch. :). Love the "You gave me the wrong club" moment. :) :)
brookead 😂
If you ever find yourself in upstate New York, I think you would really enjoy Dinsmore golf course in Staatsburg. It’s one of the oldest courses in America and it’s a very similar design. Built right into the hilly terrain. Not always in great shape but always great backdrops of the Hudson valley.
What a video, great watch :)
Bogey is the score of the fictitious “Colonel Bogey” who played the course in the expected number of shots for the day. I suppose he’d be called “Colonel Par” these days.
Ever since your first video there, I’ve fallen in love with the beauty of Gleneagles. Absolutely heaven on earth.
Jay Chung absolutely
Love Scotland love the Scottish people (worked for McAlpines for nearly 4 years!) and would love to play any of the courses someday!
Craig Edga4r 👍
An amazing once in a lifetime experience. Congratulations on being able to play that day
Incredible. That is a one in a lifetime moment. I'm sure it was special for you, I'm glad we got to experience it with you. Just incredible.
Olivia Lambert thanks a lot Olivia, it was definitely special :)
You guys looked fantastic! That being said....the bag, the spikes, the clubs changed all throughout the video....thought we wouldn't notice
Was at Gleneagles last week and played the Kings and PGA. Kings is one of the most fun courses I have ever played. Such a Great place
Just great to see a pro show his appreciation for a golf course and its surroundings.
A brilliant video, and well down Carly showing the old man how it should be done 😀
Swing looking great for the quest for the open, good luck this year Pete.
JACKY STRYKE thanks a lot Jacky
Great video. I've only recently started watching golf video (mainly Rick Shiels and some of yours) and this one is one of the nicest so far. It's nice to see players of every level having fun together. And you all look fantastic on this course in those old timer clothes! Great event!
Great video. I was lucky enough to play the Kings Course a few weeks ago and it has to be the most beautiful course I have ever played. My home club is a James Braid course, so you just ticked all the boxes !
Fantastic and challenging looking course, its great to watch these videos as it allows me to see courses I have never played before and would love to add to my bucket list!
Beautiful backdrop. Valleys and countryside. Absolutely gorgeous 👍
This looks like a bucket list course for me. That's being added for sure. Looks spectacular.
Played and stayed at Gleneagles twice and loved it. My old club, Dunstable Downs is a Braid course. The 8th is also called “Braids Best”
Braid's Brawest on the Scottish courses ☺
Great video Pete. Love seeing Carly there with you and hitting balls. You two are great together Keep the videos coming
Damn Pete! Your swing is looking smooth brah. 🏌️♂️
Think it's time for the big leagues.
Kridian01 working on it!
True, but his putting remains putrid like stepping in dog poo barefoot !
Soooo smmmmoth bruv
Really nice swing. It's unique but lovely... And an intelligent golf Pro. Good to watch.
What a glorious video Finchy! I was at Gleneagles once many moons ago and loved every minute. Watching you in your plus fours makes me want to go back! If ever in Chicago, you have an invitation to Medinah for a round of golf.
John-Charles Hesser 👍
Looking good, Pete. The attire. The swing. The surroundings. All looking very very good here.
Great video as always Pete! The 3rd on the Kings is one of my favourite golf holes I’ve ever played. What a hole and what a course!
great vid, nice seeing you and the better half having good days out whilst enjoying the golf. that place is defiantly on my list
David Wilson yeah having great fun!
That was cool seeing 1919 vs 2019.
Michael Middleton guess 2020 wasn’t it
Funny how this showed up on my recommended - I just watched _The Greatest Game Ever Played_ for the first time a couple days ago.
Absolutely love playing James Braid courses👍👍👍
I loved the outfits from back then, I would totally wear that to play golf. I thought it was totally crazy that there were no tees back then, you just made an ant hill of sand to tee off? Wow I had no clue. Very good video.
I was waiting for this another sick video peter keep up the good work
Nathan Donovan cheers Nathan, will do!
I believe it's a modern par. Can't remember where I heard this but they used to play against the bodey man which was a modern day par round but it was changed by the yanks.
Would have been cool to play one of those holes with old style balls as well. Looks like an amazing place. The hotel looks amazing.
Scotland is so underrated. The best golf courses, scenery, water, food and people.
Food???
I love how the black and white filter gives it such a nostalgic feel!! Great video Peter!!
Zax Drums thought that was quite a nice touch 😊
What a lucky couple you are going to these places playing fantastic courses & everything it involves. I wish I had your lives just for a day. Keep you brilliant work BOTH of you 😆⛳👏👏
Neil Taylor yes we are very very lucky :)
Lovely video Peter. That hickory 2 iron is such a comedic tool. Props for hitting it like a boss!
The water around there is so wonderful.
Just watched this for the first time a few months late. Absolutely best video yet!!!
You know, a lot of the courses y’all show don’t appeal to me, but man, this course looks amazing.
Jacob Nicholson yeah it’s pretty stunning up there!
What a beautiful golf course ! Great video. I love playing with classic gear.
Thank you for this video, very enjoyable. I have to say your swing is just stunning, definitely SwingGoals! Cheers from Belgium.
"Think you need some lessons" Haha genious
Great course as is the queens James braid was such a clever bloke . Btw I'm a 12 handicapper one of the rounds I played on the kings 14th braids brewest.. I birdied it I'll never forget that highlight of my golfing carear for one hole I beat mr Braids best and hardest hole.
Love the pipes in the background. Really fits the vibe
Wow, so stylish! Loved every second!
I do not care what any other bloke says....you should play in this type of clothing every time you play golf !
Sure, use updated materials, colors even....but play in this style. You sir, will blow up the internet. 👍🏻👍🏻
I played the Queens course with my wife. It was cold and raining and we loved it!
Neale walker standard 😂
Expecting a brand new what's in the bag with this new range of taylormade tech
😂
I passed the course on the way to our holiday destination and it was an absolutely stunning area. Definitely a place I'd like to play
the announcer is such a nerd in his own world. But this world is all golf. Love it!!!
Love the Green Hills of Tyrol playing in the background
Looking very dapper Pete. The 2 shots on your Insta, one colour with the old shoes and the other B&W with the new Adi's & glove on are such a contrast. The B&W looks like you've jumped in a time machine and gone back for a day but couldn't give up your grip on the earth or the club.
My local golf club is holding Liermoen Hickory Invitational in July. You have to use wooden clubs made before 1935 and clothing in style. Should be interesting to watch. :)
Peter hits a great ball, and is no doubt a very good player. Is there anyone like me who replays his club takeaway?
I’m trying to figure out what’s going on? 👍🏻
Watch Robert Johansson and his student Hans, especially the clubhead
You are not alone. I started slowing down my backswing after watching Peter and it has given me more control over my swing.
M Oz excellent. If Pete’s reading this, my comment wasn’t at all derogatory. Just genuinely interested.
I’ve seen a number of his videos, and not sure why he’s not on tour.
That was fabulous Peter! Must have been a blast? You certainly looked the part. Quite dapper I must say!
Cheers
This was great. The tall old fella in green has serious game.
That's pretty neat, I never knew what they used as tees back then. Awesome!
I found a wooden 5 iron on the side of the street it’s been one of my favorite irons so far.
Bravo Pete! What a beautiful setting! Your swing looks great and the content is superb!
Jeffrey Love thanks a lot bud
Imagine Carly getting a HiO on camera... Great fun video ! Thanks a lot Pete & Carly ♥️
David Abrial I think that would be us over!
That was an amazing video Pete. Looked like fun playing as they did back in the day. I have a set of hickory clubs that my father gave me when I was a lad and I cherish them in my man cave with the orginal bag that came with them.
4:04 might be the cutest golf swing ever lol
GREAT video. I love the old sticks.
Amazing looking place. It is on my ever growing list of places to visit and hopefully play. Great video Peter.
Gareth Dodgson good to hear Gareth, I’ve been to a few places and I think this one should definitely be on your list!
When I started playing in Scotland over 60 yrs ago we did not refer to Par. The scorecards printed the Bogy for each hole (this was the equivalent of Par today). Colonel Bogy was an imaginary scratch player apparently dreamed up by a war wounded soldier at the turn of the last century. The soldier played against the invisible Colonel Bogy when he had no one else to play against. The Bogy score was that which a top player was likely to take. US TV golf was shown in the UK in the 1960s and the commentators referred to Par with Bogy being one over Par. Soon the UK adopted this as the norm.
Great video!!!!!!!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I’m watching all of the golf bidder challenges
That hat is something I would love. So nice.
Juuso Jyrkkiö it was pretty cool
Loving the look Pete. We should all go back to that style lol
Great Video! Thanks for posting.
Pure class. I bet when pured, they feel great
I live in Scotland and have never played gleneagles maybe one day I will someday.
Awesome looking course and great outfits. You can definitely pull that look off.
ramon moreno 👍
Good watch Peter, really enjoyed it.
Your swing is pure. Lovely to watch 💪
James thanks james :)
@8:00 - FYI, that must be a post-1919 2-iron as club numbering didn't start until the 1930s. IIRC, it was Spalding who started it.
Northern Irishman talking about a Scottish golf course
That intro was lit Pete! 🔥🔥🔥
Pete, if you fancy coming down to Royal Blackheath (est 1608) the home of why we play medal rounds (we play for actual medals), St Andrew's copied our club championship trophy which has become the open jug, then let me know. I'll arrange for a round and for you to go around the museum.
Come to Arizona fairways bumpy as shit sometimes. You’ll hit fairway but still have to hit the ball below your feet cause you’re on the side of a mountain perfect for slicing.
Just revisiting this one Pete, great vid, and you really should set up a hickory challenge with Rick, 1919 attire and all, when things get more back to normal, that is 👌
Love the B&W sequence of the vlog, just stunning
Jonathan Cassidy thanks Jonathan, I thought it looks really good!
Congratulations on 300k subscribers! Great work mate!
Love the Fascinator
Hey Perter if up on Scotland again come and play the Braid Hills course Edinbrugh The Thistle golf club celebrating their 150 years
It was fun to see the old scorecard & clothes but I super disappointed you didn't use the clubs of the time, that would have very appropriate & insightful.
I remember our scorecard having a bogey 5 on it still in the 1970s
Classic - looked like a fun day out!!
Great vlog Peter! You absolutely crush it every time!
Chris Monhollen thanks a lot Chris, trying my hardest :)
The picture retakes was awesome! I personally think that those Outfits should still be the dress code.
