Truth I am talking about goat status not best golfers. There is a difference. Like Lebron James is the goat but steph curry is one of the best players, you get it?
Phil is like a lovable mad scientist. He's gonna try some shit, and sometimes it'll work, and sometimes it won't, but either way you can't help but root for him.
He seems like the valentino rossi of golf to me, you know he's got it in him to win it but it doesnt matter where he comes, its the watching him play thats fun.
The last clip is my favorite because it was so ridiculous. You know the announcer was instructed to name the events the people have won when they're on the tee, which sounds like a nice idea for 90% of golfers, except when it's Tiger who comes up there you'll be standing there for 15 minutes to get through the whole list lol.
Unfortunately, there's no video of my favorite... it was identical to the one they showed here where Phil hits it backwards. In this video, which I'm pretty sure was the tournament in Colorado that used the Modified Stableford Scoring, Phil didn't get back on the green. But there was a shot, in a real event where Phil nearly holed the same shot, going backwards on a off-canter lie. I've seen film of it but not in the past 20 years so I don't think the Tour or Networks have it.
Ever get the feeling he is secretly happy when his ball ends up in a seemingly impossible lie? I really think he looks forward to the challenges of these types of shots.
That's what I admire most about him, and what a non golfer would have no clue about....the ability to keep that smile on his face and that happy demeanor through a round, win or lose, in a game that will frustrate the living sh8t out of even the best, even on a good day. You can't fake that. No amount of prize or endorsement money will buy that for you. It's character and it's class. Not to mention the way he interacts with galleries during and after a round or if you meet him off the course.
Don't give a s**t what other people think. Phil is the man. He makes watching golf so much fun and he is a great person. Go Phil. Phil has some kind of alien gene.

Ha, he's either a genius or an idiot. Or, more accurately, he's an undeniable genius who occasionally does idiotic things. Either way he's my favourite golfer, and I still hold out hope he'll win the US Open this year. That'd be a story to rival Tiger's, for sure.
As much as I love Phil, Tiger was having a hard time even walking and performing daily activities without experiencing pain. Combined with a back fusion and having to rebuild his game. I’m sorry, but I’m not sure there is going to be any story in sports that is capable of matching what Tiger did at the Masters.
@@HypeWrecks Honestly, I agree. Objectively speaking, it's tough to imagine what could match Tiger's achievement. But to a long time fan of Phil like me, if he could get the career grand slam I'd consider that worthy of mentioning in the same sentence, at least.
