  • So you're an aspiring metal vocalist or a seasoned veteran screamer, but you've got questions on how to warm up. You've come to the right place! These are the vocal warm-ups I've put together over the years for my time in Kardashev.
Here are the tongue twisters if you're so inclined:
    - Patty paid Piper purple pennies
    - Wendy wants windy wild weather
    - Lenny lent Lonnie Lowell's ladles
    - Tony took teddy’s tiny tiger
    - Kenny can’t cover Kyle's car
    - Gavin Gave Gus garish gaskets
I also do 1-on-1 lessons via Skype. Email me for more info!

Thanks for the routine! I had a thought while I was trying it at 8:57 where you gradually work into to the scream, making "ee-aah" vowel sounds.
I worked through the other vowel sounds there, too. Some ee-ah, ay-ee, ooh-uhh, eye-ooo type of shit😂
    It was helpful.

One of my fav ways is throat singing, it feels the most natural without an itchiness, I will say it will feel itchy if you don’t normally do it but to me it feels good to warm up with, I’ll go from low to high, same with clean singing with falsetto I think, go low to high and high to low. But I’m actually going to use these new tips

  • @buttholesniffers

Man! I'm struggling to track vocals right now, I think I've strained my voice. It's like my anxiety during tracking is making my throat tight and I try and compensate for the boomy mids by pushing too hard from my diaphragm and then now boomy mids even when I'm pushing as hard as I can because my vocals chords are fucked up. Sigh. I guess I'll wait a week and try again. I just don't understand why I can sound great 99% of the time with ease I tell you! But then I'm on the spot and I tense up!! It's the worst!!

Is there a way to like, keep my voice strong and in working order/used to the abuse when I don’t have anywhere to scream/sing. Long story short I lost my job due to covid (again) and I literally have no where to sing/scream because my cars broken and I live in apartments. Before I lost my job I learned so much (mostly from this channel) and got my voice exactly where I wanted it

How often should I train screaming? I train extreme vocals since 4 months and my plan is 40 minutes training(about an hour with warm ups)
3-4 times a week. Is this optimal?
PS: I forgot to mention diaphragm training. I train my diaphragm about 3 times a week and it's only 15 minutes training.

    • @KardavoxAcademy
      @KardavoxAcademy  4 роки тому +10

The best answer is to gauge it less by time and more by feeling. If I say "do each for five minutes" but after five minutes you still have tension, then the warm up wasn't effective. So make sure that you are warming up with intention. Think about the way your voice feels and sounds. If after three minutes of diaphragmatic breathing you still have trouble maintaining your airflow, regroup and re approach the technique. Hope that helps!

Not to be picky or anything, but the diaphragm works in kinda the opposite way. The diaphragm is a large muscle that pulls down on the lungs. Then, due to the pressure difference, air is rushed into the lungs, which is what makes the chest expand 🤓 Well, that's the overkill explanation at least.
Really enjoy your videos by the way, found your channel 2-3 weeks ago. Keep up the good work! And maybe do a reaction video for Devin Townsend's "The Death of Music" (live in Plovdiv)? Cheers!
