I've lived in NC 22 years and love it. It's not the perfect state as every place has its flaws, but I love that it's very seasonal, you got beaches to the east, mountains west of the state and it's very green and fall is gorgeous here. I live in Cary, the only things I don't like specifically within the Raleigh area are the way some people drive, not everyone but a good number of people here drive like maniacs. @@livinginnorthcarolina I am counting the days to move back to Maryland. 1.5 years left. North Carolina is a giant Staten Island. Maryland is much better.
NC drivers need to realize that because another driver needs to merge over into your lane, they are NOT trying to "cut you off." Everyone knows how the lanes drop off quickly here and moving and merging is NECESSARY.....again, it's NOT personal! But many drivers insist on running up behind me, blowing their horn, and having a hissy fit even after I signaled my intention, increased my speed (which was already over the speed limit) and moved over as best as I possibly could.
What I hate about NC is this 1. Bad drivers 2. Engineering for roads are bad 3. Too many apartment being build everywhere 4. Have to pay extra taxes for things you don’t own or pay a county tax in certain places
These are all really good reasons. It’s funny that number one and number two we both share. I think a lot of people feel that way because it has been frustrating that there is not enough infrastructure to take care of the growth.
Yes, apartments are being built everywhere and not 2 to a maximum of 3 story apartment building like 20+ years ago but massive Soviet style 4-5 story apartment buildings. This is changing the cities from being suburban to urban with all the problems associated with urban areas such as traffic, crime and much more aggressive people.
@@TheWealthOfNationz I agree with you. I also wish they would fix their roads it’s not wide enough to enter a parking lot or making turns, also their parking lot is super weird
We didn't have so many engineered roads not so long ago. It was mostly meandering paths of peace and scenery. Bad drivers... Do you mean people not in a hurry, taking their sweet time, getting over to the left lane so the cars can enter on the right, obeying the 2 car length following distance regulations, knowing full and well the traffic light will still be there when we get there? Please go somewhere else. We dont want you here, less you, less traffic, lower costs, more farms, less roads and apartments being built. Its a win win for everybody if you just pick a new state more aligned to what ever it was you came from.
sharing my thoughts, i lived in NC for 9 years, (still going) and ive loved it, the hate this state has is annoying, its been smooth sailing for me, ive basically only seen like 2 people on D, overall, if you want to live good in NC, move to the mountainous regions
I really love living here too! We have been here since 2011 and going strong. We love being 2 hours from the mountains and 3 from the beach, it’s the perfect setup! There is a lot of hate but I do think you can see that no matter where you go. I still smile to strangers and hold doors open wherever I go!
Im mad u put this tarantula on the screen! I jumped in surprise and disgust. Anyway, yes these are the negatives most ppl say, but it's still a good place to live. I like in Raleigh-Durham area. But im certain our traffic isnt nearly as bad as Charlotte
Not being negative, just giving a different point of view. We bought a place here15 years ago from upstate NY. The traffic has gotten crazy all over, when we go back to visit, it's just as bad there. The humidity in NY is worse than down here, it can get pretty hot there, but it feels hotter even when the temperature isn't as high, because it's so humid. The pollen was just as bad covering our vehicles in NY. My allergies as well as my son's allergies have been a lot better down here, to the point where I rarely use medicine anymore. I think a lot of that is because it doesn't get as much snow and rain here, so there is less mold spores in the air. Now as for bugs... I hate bugs, we didn't have palmetto bugs or fire ants, which was great, but there were many times the mosquito's would litterally swarm us, you could rarely go outside without getting eaten alive. I think we've seen less than 5 mosquito's since we moved here, and we're outside all the time. Which is another big plus for living down here. We rarely had a string of pleasant days up there, it was either way too cold, or too hot and humid. I wouldn't complain at all.
Is the humidity in NY worse, omg, I did not know that! Wow, I have never been to NY. I am so glad your allergies are better. We have had to go through adult onset allergies with my husband. He has been miserable but that could have happened to him in Ohio too. I just read that Charlotte is the 9th worst state for mosquitos, ugh! I agree that NC is wonderful, these are very small issues that do not even really matter when life is good. I love it here, even with these minor things.
Not at all, everyone is absolutely entitled to their thoughts and opinions. We just want to keep things as positive as possible. I meant it when I said that we hope you enjoy our channel and we’re glad you’re here!
@@livinginnorthcarolina That is one of the saddest replies. How nice for you that you live here and see butterflies. I am a White male, what the Confederate flag represents did not affect me. I too could put on a pair of rose colored glasses and see North Carolina as a beautiful paradise. But I'm also 73 years old and have woken up to the realization that the world isn't all about ME. I'm sure there were many white Aryans living in Germany during Hitlers reign who thought the same way; "it doesn't affect me, so the world is wonderful." How does seeing positive things in life imply that I am not aware of other people suffering? Keeping myself in a positive mindset allows me to support and be kind to others around me that need it more than anyone. I’m going to work to control my narrative so that I can give my best every day to the world around me. It does not have anything to do with rose colored glasses. Instead, I prefer to see it as how can I make a positive impact on those around me today and move forward in a better light? If I live in a negative space, I cannot provide a positive experience. I’m sorry that you took my comment in a manner that made you feel I was oblivious. That is certainly not the case. Negativity will not help.

in the North Carolina Mountains it does get hot but not as humidity as other and Southern parts of the state, in the winter time North Carolina gets snow sometimes heavy blizzard snowstorms, l mean not just winter time even in the fall time in the Northern and the Mountains you see snow Christopher the Director l saw on youtube he thinks North Carolina is just a summer state no there are four seasons in North Carolina.
And this is probably why I love the mountains so much because there’s very little humidity! You definitely see more snow than we do here in Charlotte, but we do get snow on occasion. And definitely cold weather!
I moved to Charlotte 2 years ago. I try my best for i haven't feel welcome. I work i do what im supposed to do and im still feel miserable. I don't know what it is. I don't want to be ungrateful but i regretted my decision to moved here, i feel lonely nobody understands my accent im Dominican and that make me feel more insecure 😢
My wife and I moved here last year and feel the same way. The city feels very unfriendly. We’re already looking for somewhere else to move. I hope it gets better for you!
@biancacaridealine1037, I'm sorry that you are struggling. I know how you feel. I had a house fire a few years ago and rented a house in the neighborhood I grew up in while my home was being rebuilt. When I was a child, any new neighbor would be welcomed to the neighborhood by numerous neighbors. When I returned to my childhood neighborhood, NOBODY greeted me and I lived there for a year! When North Carolina was a much smaller state 30-40 years ago, neighbors were much friendlier. I think another problem is society in general has become much colder and isolated in the last 30 years. One thing you may want to consider is moving to a smaller, more welcoming town but please scout the town out first and interacting with some of the people in the town before making the move. Please don't feel insecure about your accent as I find the Dominican accent to be charming. In addition. there are so many immigrants to North Carolina from all over the world so there are a lot of different accents in the state. I will say a prayer for you.
I agree people have been more cold in the previous few years. I try my best to not act that way and to bring people in. You never know what a kindness could do for someone else.!
Every state has lot traffic. There is nothing wrong with NC, these people don’t want you there. They come up with everything to keep you out? I travel there all time. My daughter lives there. On this one, I’ll have to disagree, we are certainly not boring, but maybe you just meant that we’re the most exciting people in the state?! We’ll take that compliment! 😂
This is the worst State you could ever live in! The economy is absolutely garbage!! Everyone is looking for a job and the jobs know it so they pay 9-13 dollars an hour tops. It's hell living here. The only thing nice is the weather. The people aren't even that friendly for the south. I literally have nothing nice to say about it. I've been here for 3 months and I'm moving back north it's absolutely terrible here! Anyone thinking about moving here you are making a huge mistake go anywhere else if you need to work. The only people doing okay are retired military. Mover beware!!
Sorry to hear you feel that way. We have found it to be very welcoming and we love what we do for a living. I know it took us a little while to feel settled but now it is definitely home.
Great video. I just moved out of North Carolina. The politicians suck, state auto inspections suck, all the crappy drivers suck, cost of living is very high, high population sucks, getting way overcrowded, racist job managers, building everywhere making housing unaffordable. North Carolina tries to squeeze you for every penny you have. Whenever you pay a bill, they always charge you extra fees. I won't miss it at all.
North Carolina suburban areas and even small towns like where I've lived for years are becoming proof of the old adage that you can't put 10 pounds of poop in a 5 pound bag.
As a real estate agent complaining about 100 people a day moving to the area you live in, 1 you are making a killing on sales, 2 you are the one showing people who are crowing your area homes, 3 you encouraging more building by selling these homes. I have a 6 acre field that every week I get some investor trying to buy and will never sell because i do not want condos built next to me. Heat and humidity gets worst with building by removing trees and every house with a swimming pool, it is hot but not humid like by my NJ home. Allergies are not nearly as bad for me as in NJ and VA, where I am from it starts in April and end in November but does not bother me here. Bugs are big but most are harmless and far less mosquitos than NJ, but they are fun to watch when the hit your ZAPPER. I do prefer the heat over shoveling feet of snow in single degree weather. My only complaint is my town does not sell beer and drive a distance VS I could walk to the store by me and my daughters in VA. Life is what you make of it and I belong here more than where I grew up on a farm not the city.
We truly appreciate your feedback. Yes, we have been very fortunate to help people both out of town and locally buy and sell their homes. We count ourselves lucky for the trust they share with us. We would not necessarily say we are complaining about 100 people a day moving here. We have and will continue to work hard for our clients but please know that we go above and beyond every single chance we get. I have personally scrubbed bathrooms, windows, hauled boxes, trash and swept floors to help clients have a clean home to sell. We love that you have land and protect it. We also live on a large tree filled property that we love. It is a sanctuary for us. It was tricky coming up with things that we do not like here but you are RIGHT! Life IS what you make of it! We are so glad to be here and call NC our home. As an Army "brat" I did not have just one home growing up. I often did not feel like I belonged. NC is the FIRST place where I feel that way. @@livinginnorthcarolina Sorry to sound harsh not my intention, similar happened to North Jersey back in the 80s and is happening now with excessive building and taking NY people. It’s people like you that have caused this traffic problem. People need to stop moving here. It kills me when people who have lived here a few years act like they know everything about Charlotte
I have been here more than anywhere else in my lifetime, so I do consider it home. My father was in the Army and we moved a lot but that doesn't mean I wanted to move a lot. I chose to come here and raise my kids 15 years ago because the other side of my family is from here. I actually do have roots here going back a long ways. That being said, I work hard researching and finding factual information on the area and pride myself in the things I do know about Charlotte/Lake Norman.

People moving here with the right mindset is cool and I'm not a hate someone because they're from a different state kind of person but many especially from the northeast come here with a s@@t attitude and they vote exactly the same. I just don't get these people that want NC to go full blown crazy blue, why did you leave NY, NJ and other blue states if you just want the same thing?
Having the right mindset is so true. I think kindness goes a long way and can make a move more pleasant for everyone. I make it a point to not talk about politics but I can say that NC is the same as most other places, you will find the good and bad in everywhere you go. If you are leaving where you live, maybe a change of pace is what you are looking for. No matter where you go, you are attracted to that place so do you actually want it to change?

1. Bad drivers
2. Engineering for roads are bad
3. Too many apartment being build everywhere
@@TheWealthOfNationz I feel like those buildings block out the sun!
I feel the same way! I hate spiders and my editor did that! UGH!
@@livinginnorthcarolina lol
Don't forget there's more Confederate flags flying than American flags.
To be honest, I hadn’t noticed. I try to stay focused on the positive stuff around me. I have found that helps keep me happier.😊
I'm sure there were many white Aryans living in Germany during Hitlers reign who thought the same way; "it doesn't affect me, so the world is wonderful."
When ANY American is being persecuted, marginalized, and hated, America is not perfect.
There needs to be people who see beyond themselves to make the State a better place for ALL!

How does seeing positive things in life imply that I am not aware of other people suffering?
Keeping myself in a positive mindset allows me to support and be kind to others around me that need it more than anyone. I’m going to work to control my narrative so that I can give my best every day to the world around me.
It does not have anything to do with rose colored glasses. Instead, I prefer to see it as how can I make a positive impact on those around me today and move forward in a better light? If I live in a negative space, I cannot provide a positive experience.
I’m sorry that you took my comment in a manner that made you feel I was oblivious. That is certainly not the case. Negativity will not help.

I'm glad you clarified.
Nothing wrong with a positive attitude, I try to portray this out in public also.

But it's hard for me living in North Carolina when it rears it's ugly side.

We also love it in North Carolina. We will never leave. I have moved around a lot in my life and this is the first time I really felt like I am home. So glad you are also happy here 🏡🏡
Thank you very much
l know in Choloeltte, Lumberton, Wellington, Raleigh and Durham areas is very hot and humid except on the southern coast area.
I think it is worse in the cities too! No air moving around but I do love the fall and spring
It may be hot here and there may be big bugs, but it's nothing compared with Florida.
This is SOOOOO true! We visit Florida to see family and would not be able to live there full time. We actually do love it here.
Was looking around Raleigh I’ll take bug pollen etc over the price to live in NY! !
That is so true! I wonder if we will ever say that about charlotte with how many people are coming this way!
Im a native to western N.C Asheville area. My family has lived here since the revolutionary war, I have come to hate the transplants and tourists.
I wish I had the pleasure of saying I had lived somewhere for generations like you. With my father being military, we have moved a lot in my life. I truly love the Charlotte area and feel like I have found my home here in North Carolina. It is a blessing since I have never had one before now.
everything you said you hate about NC can be applied to Hartford, CT, except for the BUGS not as many. but your winters are SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than CT. and TAXES we have the highest. I plan on moving to Lake Norman area
You are ABSOLUTELY right!! We love it here actually and live in the Lake Norman area! When are you moving here? We'd love to help you! Text us and we can set up a direct MLS house search 704-454-8820
I lived the past 20 years in mid Florida and been here since October 22. I still haven't felt any heat OR humidity that comes close to what we endured down there - glasses fogging up just walking out the door, towel never drying, sweat just dripping non stop and my curly hair looked like the back end of a sheep. This summer has been a piece of cake for me.
Thats so good! Jeff gets foggy glasses all the time but he also says I keep the AC to cold, lol!
Why are you here Karen?
Definitely not a Karen, lol! We LOVE it here in NC actually and have been here more than 13 years now. You must have missed my love videos. We cover almost always what we love and very little about what is not fun here. @@waynebuchanan9818
Sorry. Took it too seriously. 😅
Quit lying and go back up north!
We have a lot of traffic and there are TONES of car crashes
What area of North Carolina do you live in?
@@livinginnorthcarolina I live in the wake forest area.
@@Wetlast I know there are A LOT of extra disclosures that need to be signed in that area when buying a house. It is sad to me to see all the legal "disclosures". Nobody will take any responsibility.
Yea, mostly because of the dumb Yanks. Go back up north and quit running down our state. We don't won't you here.
Another thing, go back to school and learn to spell.
in the North Carolina Mountains it does get hot but not as humidity as other and Southern parts of the state, in the winter time North Carolina gets snow sometimes heavy blizzard snowstorms, l mean not just winter time even in the fall time in the Northern and the Mountains you see snow Christopher the Director l saw on youtube he thinks North Carolina is just a summer state no there are four seasons in North Carolina.
There are many people who are not from there! They are northerners and don’t talk to people they don’t know.
I am from Ohio originally but I do talk to everyone, I think it is better to try to be friendly and get to know people. I have been here 13 years
I agree people have been more cold in the previous few years. I try my best to not act that way and to bring people in. You never know what a kindness could do for someone else.!
People stop moving here. Seriously !! STOP MOVING HERE. WE ARE FULL !!!!!
I get that, but I don't think it is stopping
The traffic is bad because there are no alternative reliable forms of transportation in NC
That is a VERY good point!
Thanks for the info.😂
Then move
You should really check out all the videos that talk about why we LOVE it here! There are always things that aren't perfect but we do love it here and it is home unlike any other place has been.
I-77 runs both ways.
Yes, it sure does. Going North is normally a lot easier
Spot on about the H&H and the pollen. With that said, I'll take that and freedom over living on the leftist coast or up north where you can't cook with gas, any day.
Absolutely! Jeff and I were just in San Diego for work (and fun) and it was SOOOO expensive! Gas was 6.79/galleon and I was told that was not too bad, whew! I do actually love it here in NC, we have been very happy for 13+ years
People moving here with the right mindset is cool and I'm not a hate someone because they're from a different state kind of person but many especially from the northeast come here with a s@@t attitude and they vote exactly the same.
Dang....
I hope you also saw the one about why I do love it here also!
Does nothing for disabled and homeless people! No housing. Nash county! Nc.😮😮😮😮
Does Nash County have assistance for disabled or homeless? I would love to know more about that!
Roanoke rapids is worse Halifax county, barely any jobs and racism still exist, and hardly in decent homes, trying to make ends meet isn't easy nor is paying bills.

I think you have to look for the positives in life but it’s interesting the videos I put about dislike get more comments from people and more watches from people.
