I just got some Levi 517s in the mail last night and for me they are exactly what I was looking for. Probably save 'em for "dressier" stuff and keep my Wranglers for work, but I'm super happy with them.
I honestly find straight cut regular fit jeans to work just as well as bootcut such as Levi's 501/505 be it cowboy boots or lace up work boots. Only problem is Levi's is very inconsistent in sizing.
The ONLY boots I’ve ever been able to pull off with pants like these are the narrow square Justin Shawnee BR733 boots. The shaft on those is paper thin leather that won’t even hold itself up and you don’t notice the shaft “printing” at all. That’s it though. Other than those Chelsea boots you showed at the end.
I wear slim straight and athletic flex AE jeans, but my calves and quads are super thick so you can’t see the boot shaft at all. Usually skinnier guys have tougher time with jeans the boot shafts looking awkward.
I'll be giving them a miss! Not a good look with any in my opinion. Thanks for giving them a try for us Jeremiah! I've found it difficult to get a straight jean that works for me and my boots. I tend to fall back on my Levi 527 slim bootcuts.
The opening on these particular jeans is just too small for a cowboy boot, but I think they work fine with a Chelsea boot or chukka. For a cowboy boot you need a minimum of an 8 inch leg opening, but 9 inch is better, most slim straight openings are only a 7.5 inch leg opening max, and that seems to be the problem here. Try the goodfellow slim straight from target, slim fit, but still around an 8 inch leg opening and only around $33, very comfortable and stretchy overall, they also have a 36 inch inseam option for the stacked look. I’m 6’0” 200-205 and the 34X32 is just right for me.
I stick with Levi 511 pretty much. Maybe a Levi 513 as they are a little more straight fitting on the legs but harder to find. The 511 is labeled as a slim fit but they are wide enough for all my slip on boots without looking ridiculous
I wear Levi's 513 slim straights (can only find them at Kohls) and Wrangler Retro slim straights with my cowboy boots. They fit pretty similar with my legs.
That's kind of the style nowadays. Slim short pants with big shoes or boots. I never understood it. Some guys look like they are walking around in capri pants.
These jeans are incredible I'll never buy anything else especially if you work outside for a living. The stretch makes them super comfortable. Maybe not the slims but they have other options if you don't like an impront showing through the jeans. I wear wellington boots with the athletic fit and the opening is a tad small and it might look a little goofy but i love them
Ive seen a few people wear boots like that, usually at concerts and such were they are just wearing the boots to look more country or something. not sure how guys find that tight of jeans comfortable though.
I usually wear my boots with appropriate fitting Levi’s or Wrangler’s but I do have some more straight legged AE jeans that I wear with a pair of the Ariat bookers when it’s warmer out and it seems to work really well. Still get the western look but without the extra material from the shaft and able to change up and try different style jeans but I definitely would never wear any of my other boots with jeans like those that print that bad. Great video though that definitely shows the do’s and don’t’s when it comes to different cuts of jeans with boots! Nice job

I need to watch a few more of these Jeans video's , I am still wearing a bunch of old boot cut mossimo jeans , from when mossimo was its own thing ( now its just a brand bought by kmart target bigw one of the big box stores. Wrangler 13mz seem to be popular , ill check your videos . Any advice for a man who has same waist size but is 6'3 without boots and 225ish pounds ( most of that weight is upper body as slim in waist and leg and quite broad in the shoulders.

@James Levi's have always been my favorite jeans. Ive tried wrangler & ariat. Their alright but just not for me. The sizing inconsistency ive had that too. All supposed to be the same size and some are tight, really loose, or just right.

So my boots dont make much of a pop there justins sqaured toe they feel comfy and fine for sitting and for walking for less then an hour if i walk more then an hour orr stand they hurt my feet and people say when i wear boots i walk on the sides of my feet i have been wearing the same size for years and thought i had bad feet i get back pain knee pain and foot pain
Those jeans look kinda sloppy on every boots except chelsea boot I really don't like American Eagle jeans that much i prefer mostly Levi's, Buckle and probably other brands to hopefully you'll do the Buckle Jeans soon can wait

I have some canvas Carhartt work pants, never wore their jeans. I only buy and wear Levi's because that's just what I've always worn and know. I'm sure Carhartt jeans are very durable.

I personally have never had any issues with regarding durability (perhaps I'm just lucky) in fact I have some pairs from 6-7 years ago still in rotation.

if you are going to wear non boot cut jeans the trick I've found is putting the long velcro strips around the leg of the boot to make it more narrow

try some Dearborn denim. made in Chicago. most well under 100. some were under 40 before
