In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro is welcoming you to the 4th installment of the alpha m. Store Style Breakdown. He's buying an entire outfit from American Eagle then rating it between 1 (worst) and 10 (best) on affordability, quality, variety, and age-range. The total of the scores will give the Alpha M. Store Style Rating.
Alpha is excited to shop as he's been impressed with American Eagle recently. Once he arrives, he states that the selection is not that great in terms of dressy vs casual. It all looks super young too, but he's seeing what he can put together. He's tried their jeans in the past and they are some the best in terms of comfort. The season is changing so he may get some good deals, but there's not a ton in variety.
He leaves with jeans $49.95, navy blue tee shirt $17.95, flannel $39.95, white oxford $39.95 with the total of $150.11. American Eagle was tough to do - the selection was picked over and crappy, and they don't sell shoes. But, he loves the jeans! Next, the flannel is incredibly soft with a nice fit, and the tee shirt has nice fabric with high sleeves for tricep exposure. He loves American Eagle for specific things, but they are lacking on variety. He gives the following ratings: affordability 5, quality 7, variety 2, age-range 2.

Gap has casual wear, outerwear, dress shirts, dress pants, jackets, sweaters, athletic wear, etc. The only thing I've really noticed they don't have much of is ties.

Coming from an American Eagle manager you picked a terrible time to shop. It is in the middle of switching from holiday to spring so of course the selection is terrible. Then again our product for holiday/spring trans was not that impressive. I think if you're going to do more of these you should be aware of what time of the year and what season you're shopping in. Other than that awesome videos! Love learning new style tidbits from you! Keep it up! 👍👍

Loving these videos!!! but would you ever be open to the idea of sharing what sizes you get in those stores? just as an added guideline for us fashion challenged men who are having trouble finding clothes brands that fit
Canadiasian psh don’t go to H&M, their sizes are ALL OVER THE PLACE! I’m a 30-32 waist. I couldn’t get a 32 waist of H&M jeans past my KNEES! And their shirt sizes are pretty wack. They have some nice jackets but you have to be caution because they are slim/tight, so you have to try your size, a size below, and a size up to get an idea of your size of EACH JACKET. That’s right, they don’t even follow the same size chart.

I'm 39 and am mostly a J.Crew and Club Monaco guy, but once or twice a year AE has something I like and I'm not ashamed of it. I got a donegal sweater from this winter's collection that is as great as anything I'd get from either of the other two stores.

I love AE jeans. Their original straight is nicely tapered at the bottom, and their skinny jeans are so comfortable I can easily stick my arm in it.

Aaron, AEO seems to really fit you well. Rather than faking young, it makes you seem youthful naturally. The longer flannel shows your confidence - like "short or tall, I'm proportional, so I can don-anything-and-look-good" kinda feeling.
I get my jeans primarily from AE. Slim cut fits perfect. Bought some polos for the summer and love the fit.

I did some online shopping on American Eagle and spent 135 dollars on 5 clothing items (2 jeans, and 3 shirts) because there was a 40 percent off cyber monday sale
I’m 41 so I don’t go in there too much anymore. I do love their flannel shirts I have but lately they are getting on the thin side regarding the ones I’ve seen in the store. A couple pair of jeans that I love I bought over ten years ago but they are my going out jeans so they’ve held up. Also I have a hoodie that’s super soft and comfy.

From someone who has worn only AE for the p sdt 5 years, the quality seems hood at first but wears out quick, I've had shirts fade to transparent after only a few washes, the Oxford permantly wrinkle quickly and shrink a lot in the wash. The jeans and chinos are fantastic, the shoes are cheap. The socks and boxer briefs are phenomenal. And their watches are shotty, cologne is great, my overall review go for the pants and an occasional shirt, but make sure it's a bit of a thicker cut because they do thin
