I just wanna say, thank you for making this video.. that is my father, Kevin Peebles, in the video and he passed away in 2020 from Cancer. When I’m missing him I watch this video and brings back lots of great memories of building pools with him. ❤😇
Hi Kaylie, Your father was a worker and craftsmen. He put those pools together like hotcakes 😊. It was sad to hear he passed and I’m sure he is watching over, he was a great man.
Aww so sorry for your loss honey. My sister died of cancer a year ago. She just loved her pool and I also think of her when I am watching any pool stuff.
Putting down the leveling compound before setting up the wall is a great idea! And that cart for rolling out the wall is genius. You definitely know what you’re doing even in Fila work boots!
You can tell this guy has put up a few pools in his life time... Excellent work, I began the ground work for my pool, and this guy makes it look so much easier... GREAT work, thanks for sharing.
Yes, thank you guys. Really appreciate showing the vacuum to pull the wrinkles out and all the other steps you take in the order that makes the install so efficient. DIY guy here on my 5th install for my family members.
This is the video I watched about 5 times when we put together our pool almost 4 years ago. I remember the funky music! It was a good video, we still have our pool all set up and it is just great!
Wow. I’m amazed! We might get one of these steel pools installed by our local pool place/market. It’s about 5grand on the low end. We would rather have pros do it. As we would fail and have no clue what we’re doing and will end up breaking something. + no experience
Who knew Jordan Peterson had a summer job. Nice work. Your videos (and life experience) have given me complete confidence that I can install my new pool, and build a deck on it too! Thanks Craig.
Can’t believe the old guy moved all that sand by himself instead did those young bucks. Also really like how you used the shop cap to tighten up the liner
I used to install pools 5 days a week with one other guy. It only costs about $80 - $130 to rent a skid steer/ bobcat. It’s definitely worth renting as the pools pay a decent amount of money. These guys are good are what they do and that’s 100% how to do it. The only thing I have to say is I don’t like the foam cove/ corners that they use. Believe it or not it’s better to make a cover out of dirt and pack it down with a tamper and water.
Never backfill to the side of the pool otherwise when or if you let the water out you’ll be removing the offsetting weight to the soil back filled and the pool will be like a crushed soda can when the weight of the dirt rips through it.
Looks good. But not sure if I should do all this, for my 13 ×42 ft pool. Wondering if just simply putting gravel over the area on my grass, then putting pool on that will work.
Awesome video! My husband and I do this for a living, and there’s never a boring day 🙈 Just made 3 different videos recently on my channel about comparing a “real” pool this this one in your video, to Coleman and Intex brand pools! 🤪🙌
We bought our sheet-metal pool from a friend. I believe we might be the third owners. It was a little bit rusty on the bottom but still went up just fine, I think these metal pools last a super long time. We have had no issues with ours whatsoever. I personally like how the cushion and the vinyl liner feel under your feet over a plaster pool. Much more pleasant. I couldn’t be happier with this type of pool, I plan on keeping it until I can’t maintain it myself anymore.
Me and my husband and sons put up ours after watching this video a lot of times, yes it was a lot of work but it was well worth it. I’ve had the pool up for almost 4 years now. And I absolutely love it. I look forward to every summer I spend a whole lot of time in it, and once you get the hang of the chemicals it’s easy to keep clean and clear.
@@Nevada-Ny let's see that was back in 2018, one day and Sand delivered and spread it out, put down the tracking, then unrolled the metal siding put it in, secured everything put in screws. The next day laid down foam padding on top sand, then foam edging, put inliner, tried our best to smooth out the wrinkles, then water. So couple of days. I still have it up in 2023, it is still beautiful.
Good video for any do it yourself er out there. I have a question. I've learned that placing rocks that high around a steel pool will cause premature rusting. Not saying all situations as some good drainage areas don't really matter. Perhaps this is a good shed off area or that is rubber mulch that looks like rocks around the finished pool?
