I wont lie. In a dark and realistic sense. This one fits his death. Definitely like the Sicario franchise. For the original timeline thats more on the Hollywood side with the explosions and drama while also being an iconic game for its time. In the heat situation Are you afraid ghost ? Ghost : negative sir 😎 Oh god, actually ghost soap capt price and others are nice person, why his teammates must die, this is why i hate some aspect on politics, such betrayal 😓
General Shepherd: This job is about making sacrifices for the greater good. Captain Price: Agreed! I knew Captain Price would respond by saying something like that. 😎
TL;DR - (In my opinion) This is a really bad move by Price. Anyone else think this is a really dumb strategic move by Price? Revenge doesn't justify the straight up murder of a *still active* United States General. Shepherd may have been disgraced after the court proceedings and events of the MW reboots but considering he was still in uniform, in his office, that indicates that he was still in his active role, and in the eyes of everyone in the establishment, Shepherd would still be seen as honourable after turning himself in. Price killing him would only generate problems rather than solve any, unlike in the original where Shepherd was actively conspiring and encouraging the events of the game, literally resulting in WW3. By comparison, Shepherd did fuck all but play politics in this series, which as a General, is literally his job. He did as the 141 ordered him to do - admit to his actions publicly and suffer the fallout. He held up his end and still got murdered for it; in my opinion, Price is the bigger asshole in this scenario. Not only that, because of this, it now puts the whole 141 at risk since they will also be held responsible by affiliation with Price. *Addendum:* Ok, being in his office and still in uniform doesn't necessarily mean he is still in his position, but he still has a massively high public profile, probably still had plenty of connections and political pull. His sudden murder, in his own office, after a high profile court case would raise a serious number of questions to say the least.
Killing him is definitely gonna bring Price into DISAVOWED state if he was confirmed from security. I wonder how will that go on the next episode of the story
people hating but the cinematography and dialogue in this game would make one hellova movie and if you think soaps death was rushed or unnecessary then you just want characters with plot armor they literally go into battles and kill hundreds of enemies and yet they somehow come out without a scratch that goes for entire tf141 plus makarov did foreshadow it which gives depth to the story, looking forward for mw4 prices revenge arc the death seemed fitting for character development. People really think just because hes ghost or soap hes invincible like its a war setting not a racing game
He kills Shepherd because he knows he broke when he was captured by Makarov. If I'm not mistaken, the intel he gave to Makarov remains unknown to the audience, but it is most likely going to set the events of the next game. It wasn't an act of vengeance, Shepherd proved himself to be too untrustworthy to be kept alive.
Nope, given that Graves ratted Shepard out, Shepard became a dead man walking. Given the amount of pull Shepard has, the CIA has given the 'eliminate with extreme prejudice' route.
Never mention the “greater good” to a person you’ve personally hurt by your direct actions. Almost as bad as saying “it’s nothing personal” or “it’s just business”.
Honestly, he could have said "that's one less loose end" to get that total badassery. Price really didn't like his 141 being betrayed, glad they didn't make him and Graves the good guys in this story.
You’re so privileged. I bet the poor kids in Africa would love to play this campaign if given the resources to do so. People from first world countries are so spoiled and entitled
@tmdaze9281 Okay, I get the point, bit you're really going to try to use the same phrase parents use for kids not eating their greens? 😂 Edit: Was stoned outta my brains with this reply, upon further sober examination this seems to me a joke, deepest apologies good sir, have a good day
They took all the life out of this game. Killed soap like he’s a side character, made no Russian incredibly tame, and now we’re killing off major characters in cutscenes. OG will always be the best
This scene is arguably my favorite in the whole campaign. Top notch acting from both Shepherd and Price. "This job requires making sacrifices for the greater good." "Agreed." The coldest comeback. "I'm not gonna beg for my life for you or anybody else, Cap'n. "Wouldn't do you any good." Feels like the old Price. Gives ya chills. You deserved it Shep. That was for Soap. Rest In Peace. The perfect way to end it in my opinion.
So, my headcanon is that Shepherd was killed because 141 assumed he was deliberately collaborating with Makarov after capture... hell he probably might have met with Konni and planned the whole thing in advance. Hear me out. Makarov strategically sent intel to Nolan's radio once he understood he was being held captive, prompting 141 to go to Siberia, free a now compromised Shepherd and initiate a number of false flag operations that would benefit both him and the General. Shepherd was looking for a win, that is, a way to achieve reintegration after the missiles fiasco, while Makarov was trying to get Intelligence agencies off his back while planning his next move. So what do they do: Shepherd provides intel on Makarov position, bombs the facility and gets his win; at the same time Makarov sold the world the idea he was KIA, loosening global attention and gaining the right degree of relaxation to enter London undisturbed.
i think its more darker than the original. The OG is fun but comical obviously. This new one shows a more darker side of Price, and leading to that dark path. Soap death push him.
In 2023, Activision is worried about playing it safe to not “offend” anyone. But false advertisement about a “2 year life cycle game”, and outright misrepresentation of MW2 isn’t a big deal to the suits. Shoving actual DLC content down the consumer’s throats for the game that we were promised last year to milk their fan base for that extra $70+ is nothing short of fraud. I’m ready to have that talk. Until the masses stop making YT videos about flexing 30 dollar operator bundles with moms credit card, this franchise is never coming back. I get that many people mindlessly shell out money for micros and somehow try to make it a flex, but they will ensure that COD will remain dogshit. But hey, that’s cool tho. Y’all nerds that want to spend 70+ for unfinished dogshit speak dollars and cents, not reason. You’re just another transaction to the suits.
Shepherd should’ve went out in a cooler way. Even though he isn’t the same as the original, they still could’ve made him go out like a badass. Have the scene framed like the audience (and Price) think he’s reaching for a gun only for it to reveal a cigar and saying “You’re here for one thing Captain. Let me enjoy this.” He can keep the same lines. Regardless, it seems more badass imo. Doesn’t care he has a gun to his head and simply wants to enjoy his last moments by puffing a cigar.
Wow. How climactic. I'm so glad they trashed the original timeline where Shepherd goes out in a huge blaze of glory in favor of this one where he just gets put down like a sick puppy in a fucking MCU post credit scene. 🙄😒
@rayankhatib8352 You "feel"? They literally took Nickmerc's bundle off the CoD store and publicly defamed him because he tweeted that the alphabet mafia should "leave the kids alone". THEN they did the same thing to TimTheTatman for standing up for Nick. If that doesn't confirm anything, I don't know what will.
A british soldier murdering an american general without even wearing gloves? I don't think the writers thought that through. Price would go to prison for the rest of his life.
Considering said general had illegally traded advanced munitions to dubious allies and then tried to murder multiple non-American soldiers in an attempt to cover it up, I don't think many will mind.
He's got the CIA at his back. Shepard couldn't be touched by the courts, so they backed this hit on the general. Personally, I would have chosen the Mr. Morden treatment, but that's not in the cards in this case.
You know what the best part is? If this game was an indie game and not a AAA game, it would probably be regarded as one of the best indie games of all time. It's only because it's an AAA game and part of a 20-year old series it's gotten so much hate for no reason
@@Hellodude-el1spyou gotta accept what criticism is and stop coping lmaooo. It’s a billion dollar yearly franchise with full priced games getting exponentially worse in quality every single year. @@Hellodude-el1sp if it was an indie game i would agree, but it isn't, It's a AAA game with millions and millions put in it. This one is the famous desk generals that wouldn't give a F if their soldiers died by a nuke or not.
can we talk about how Price would have been killed the second people heard that gun shot and seen a dead general. OR guy just started a war between the usa and the uk. and he'd 100% get kicked from the SAS. RIP PRICE
It’s such a big plot hole imo. Just like the original, wouldn’t he get wanted by the American government and get TF141 disavowed for killing a FOUR-STAR-GENERAL?! Laswell might also get in deep trouble for letting someone who killed the general in, too
This doesn’t make any sense at all. Shepherd was merely playing politics, and after confessing in public, he may have faced court marshal since he was an active general. This scene just makes Price look like a cold, blooded murderer. This is nothing like modern warfare, two that I played years ago, when Shepherd actively committed to acts of murder.
Price really did say he is coming after Shepard next in MW2, AND it is so satisfying to see him finally kill him in the same place he gave out the order to kill Task Force back in Las Almas. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Price really is a man of his word.
While I agree that a massive moment like this shouldn’t have been in the after credit scene. I think the fact that it happened in a cutscene is fitting for this version of Shepherd. He’s not a field soldier or a man of action like in the OG. This Shepherd doesn’t deserve an entire mission dedicated to hunting him down and killing him.
Very soon we won’t be able to tell if cutscenes are from video games or movie scenes. The level of graphical quality developers have achieved today is just phenomenal.
Wouldn't this cause WW3 as an SAS specialist operator just killed an American General on American land? We literally have an alliance with America but wouldn't that break it since Price just did an assassination??
@@SupersonicspyroNaturally love but you would think that such a high ranking and not to mention heavily guarded place would catch John doing this and then literally see him leave Shepards office where cameras are surely running? Maybe I'm reaching far with this since it's a game lol
He was too dangerous to be left alive. After what he told Congress, Laswell, and in turn, the CIA hired Price to have Shepherd executed. I feel like this would actually happen within our own US Military. No general would be sitting in that if they ordered their own troops to fire on their own.
In this CoD player’s opinion Shepard needed to go because if left alive he would’ve found some way to shoot himself in the foot. Which of course would domino into missions going from to worse. And plus I summarize with the following quote/analogy “When you stare into the abyss, take care not blink” In this case: Shepard circa MW2 2022 (or there about) blinked and Hassan’s “Suicidal” (context: attack with little to no Support) attack, force him to go to ground especially after his illegal dealings were exposed, effectively stripping him of an army
On another note, price has been a captain longer than most kids playing this game today lol. You would think for all he’s fictionally done he’d at least be a general by now 😂

Captain Price: Agreed!
I knew Captain Price would respond by saying something like that. 😎
Reminds me of Maggie and Negan argument in dead city episode one, seems Captain Price will become bad man
TL;DR - (In my opinion) This is a really bad move by Price.
I agree, everyone felt out of character in this game to me though.
people hating but the cinematography and dialogue in this game would make one hellova movie and if you think soaps death was rushed or unnecessary then you just want characters with plot armor they literally go into battles and kill hundreds of enemies and yet they somehow come out without a scratch that goes for entire tf141 plus makarov did foreshadow it which gives depth to the story, looking forward for mw4 prices revenge arc the death seemed fitting for character development. People really think just because hes ghost or soap hes invincible like its a war setting not a racing game
@@unrealill2616 some characters like Laswell escaping the bombarded base from GAS was giving off the plot armor. but yep i agree on that one
OK Price is an Outlaw now for Murdering a 4-fucking Star General...just like the OG one.

2009 had you pull out a knife that's been lodged into your chest and throwing it to execute Shepard. In this it's some pg13 death.
