TBH, I don't really like the new General Shepherd. The General Shepherd I remember is a pure evil, badass, cold, and terrifying but the new one is just a damn coward. The old Shepherd beat the hell out of both Soap and Price but the new one, just killed by an easy shot and never dares to fight back and only what he can do is to say he's last words. " 5 years ago, I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye, and the world just f*ckin watched. " I miss the old General Shepherd.
Tbf, he's exactly like what a typical general would be irl. The general from the old mw2 was as unrealistic as it gets. No general is going to be on the front lines clearing houses or engaging in door to door combat. They're exactly like what we see in this mw series; an old guy who sits behind a desk passive-agressively giving orders and who may or may not still be somewhat competent in a combat scenario.
Graves: "You've been relieved, thank you for your service." TF141: "Nah, we're gonna kill one of your guys right in front of you, and blame you when you retaliate."
@@HzG_R Are you referring to the cutscene with Makarov and Nolan talking about their "friend from Shadow"? In that case, they're talking about the captured Shadow guy they had just stopped torturing in the same cutscene, who probably revealed where General Shepperd is (who you proceed to find and unintentionally rescue in the next mission after capturing Nolan after this same cutscene). Nolan even asks what to do if the info he provided doesn't come through and Makarov says "Just fucking kill him".
People say that both Shepard and Graves lied here but I don’t know where Graves lied. He said “no” when the guy asked if he acted on those orders. And he actually never once shot a bullet out of his gun at TF-141, but his men did
Graves is the one who shot Soap, mate. He's the one who got Soap on the ground after Soap killed the Shadow right next to Graves. He can argue self-defense, but he definitely shot to kill. And the fact that he kills the player if he spots them during the escape makes it clear he was gunning to take them out.
@@vicwaters87 If Graves had been shooting to kill, he would have just shot Soap in the head then and there, and called it a day. Soap wasn't exactly a hard target to hit at the time. Of course nonlethal isn't gonna work any longer.
Both of them are right, Shepherd never gave the order but he was willing to take the risk of pissing off Price and 141. Graves didn’t want to betray them but he said that he got his orders, and members of Shadow Company didn’t even want to detain them at all. So Graves was never ordered to take them out.

@@nokia.s3350 Graves used it for two reasons, to detain Alejandro and his men & using it as an COC. His orders were specifically to aid 141 and Vaqueros in stopping the missiles and capturing Hassan. Okay, I get that most people are siding with Graves, while others side with Vargas, but here's the thing- What if, as a joint-task force at the time, they are all responsible for what happened? Think about it for a second- In a weird yet realistic kinda way, Graves did make an illegal move to take over the Los Vaqueros base and illegally detained Vargas' men, while at the same time Vargas pushed Graves to pull off that blue-on-blue crap on Vargas and the 141, all three factions in the joint- task force engaging in a shootout in Las Almas. Realistically, that would land you in prison for a good long time, depending on the severity of the charges and the situation that ensued between all three. Now, Vargas would have been deemed unfit to lead due to his recklessness, as Graves would be deemed unfit to be commander due to the illegal actions that he had to take against his own allies. 141 is in the same boat with them, as well- Engaging upon friendlies, instigating the shootout, among other things- could lead all three of the forces to be disavowed. So, when you put 2 and 2 together- In my opinion, all 3 are responsible for instigating this personal war between each other. Yes, there is a lot of theories, but there's also cases where if the threat to blackmail a PMC or military army is present, they'll do whatever they can to get what they want, be it a base, an army, or a country. Again, this is just my opinion. If anyone wants to add to it or say something else- Go for it.
That last scene reminds me of that scene from The Equalizer 2 where Robert was sitting in the same way Price did except the guy in the movie got electrocuted while Shepherd was shot

So, im sorry I may be missing something. So in MW2, Graves informs TF141 that he has taken Alejandros base and basically thanks them for their service and asks them to leave, before the ensuing gunfight. So, did Shepherd order Graves to just open fire on 141, but Graves decided to give them the opportunity to leave anyway? Or is Graves lying here in court, saying Shepherd ordered him to kill 141 when that didn't actually happen?

I love people ignoring the fact Graves slaughtered the majority of a Mexican village, and killed anyone for even remotely being involved with the Cartel. Holding mass executions, making orphans as he cracked jokes.
Honestly think Graves shoulda just went boom.
I assume it was an attempt by the writers to make graves 'evil' to make it justified for 141 to hunt him down and kill him
and people are possibly ignoring that entire mission and its lore in general (other than the intro part where he betrays 141)
@@khaosproductio That makes sense, buts its like even the *writers* forgot that they made him do that.
MWIII just doesn't seem to be it, 4 hour campaign with (to me) a more watered down version of the most impactful scene in COD.
From what I remember the entire village in mexico were all cartel loyal.
Edit: if you go back and play the mission and listen carefully to their dialog the villagers even threatened to call up the Las Almas cartel and make sure shadow company pays.

That's no lie
She's definitely lying about the lie she gave to Capitan John Pork Price about lying!
Ghost: can we call an airstrike on them?
Graves: that’s not nice :(
If there's one thing that was done well in that final scene, it was how Price appeared from the shadows. That was perfectly in sync with the sound.
You know what’s kinda stupid? Price knew and found out, when he teamed up with Farah earlier in the game, that Graves was still alive. And you’re telling me this man, a man who trusts his team like family, didn’t think to inform Soap and Ghost of Graves being alive before they got the intel on Makarov from Shepherd?? I get it would’ve compromised the mission they were on but Ghost and Soap are smart enough to still focus on Makarov and plan to take care of Graves later

My mind can't handle the fact that some people like this story.
I knew it was bad, but I didn't realize it was this bad until I saw it myself.

That ending mate. Are we getting a part 4? I knee Graves was alive though. As a filmmaker I can tell you, if we don't show you the body of someone dead, that person is not dead. 😅😅 I know this is a game, but it's still a narrative.
We’re definitely getting a fourth game maybe even a fifth

5:51 Shepherd basically telling Price to go fuck himself
TBH, I don't really like the new General Shepherd. The General Shepherd I remember is a pure evil, badass, cold, and terrifying but the new one is just a damn coward. The old Shepherd beat the hell out of both Soap and Price but the new one, just killed by an easy shot and never dares to fight back and only what he can do is to say he's last words.
" 5 years ago, I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye, and the world just f*ckin watched. "
I miss the old General Shepherd.
I enjoyed seeing Reboot's price avenge the OG characters killing Shepherd right in the head, just as OG Shepherd did to ghost in the battlezone
Not getting to kill Shepherd ourselves was a straight slap to the fucking face. This entire game is a slap to the face of all OG CODMod fans 😂

Shadow Company was paid by Makarov to betray Sheperd and 141, there's cutscene where Makarov and Nolan talking about Intel from Shadow Company.
Just a theory ofc.
Isnt that from when sheperd is captured by them? Sry if im wrong havent finished watching the whole mw3 story yet
That... doesn't really make sense when all of post-MWII DMZ story Graves & Shadow Company was pursuing and fighting Konni non-stop.
There was a mole in Shadow Company but the story never explained if they dealt with the mole.
Certainly Graves did not forgot what happened to Dipaolo, Vance & Erikson after Shepherd denied help during the botched missile delivery.
Hear me out but I feel like Graves should become the new Roach. And wear the Roach outfit imagine a shadow company version of Roach.
Fun fact: Phillip Graves is based off of Erik Prince, and Shadow Company in the modern warfare reboot is based off of blackwater
And also killing the player during the escape kinda checks out...I mean, what do you expect? Soap's already killed multiple of Graves' men by that point. Of course nonlethal isn't gonna work any longer.
When graves said “ghost that is not nice!” I was cracking so hard I nearly died-
i love how price rizzed shepherd before he killed him
Both of them are right, Shepherd never gave the order but he was willing to take the risk of pissing off Price and 141.
Graves didn’t want to betray them but he said that he got his orders, and members of Shadow Company didn’t even want to detain them at all. So Graves was never ordered to take them out.
But why Graves and his shadow company occupy Los Vaqueros main base without Alejandro knowing? Far as i remembered, Alejandro only share a base only for capturing Hassan's mission, not giving to them.
They even captured every last member of Los Vaqueros, including Alejandro himself.
@@nokia.s3350
Graves used it for two reasons, to detain Alejandro and his men & using it as an COC.
His orders were specifically to aid 141 and Vaqueros in stopping the missiles and capturing Hassan. And they were almost certain to uncover the truth of the missiles, so Graves couldn’t allow that hence him betraying Alejandro.
Holy shit is the congress dude doc mitchell? That voice sounds so similar
Who ordered the attack on the courier graves?
Captain price became a soldier into 007 like daniel craig did on the first film on his day as James bond😂
They need to keep killing characters in random ways, it makes it more real but I still hate it
It wasn't random though since they were done before, would be if it were fresh characters and those who did not die in the old timeline

Cool little detail.
In 1:30 Graves did a finger gun. Guess what happens
I loved the part where price said "you cant put a price on comrades"
That last scene reminds me of that scene from The Equalizer 2 where Robert was sitting in the same way Price did except the guy in the movie got electrocuted while Shepherd was shot
The Congressman is almost identical to Freisinger, the main villain of CoD: Vanguard
Graves was clapping back like a thanksgiving argument
My Jaw dropped when i First saw a Modern Warfare Reboot and saw how they destroyed Call of Duty with the last 3 games even more
Nah mw19 is an exception
Top voice acting. You can hear fear in Shepard's voice when refusing to beg for his life.
1:15 good arch linux setup.
“Best way to end a war… is to win it.”
You don’t say…
Y'know, this should've just been an add-on for MW2. The bones are there, and they're immensely satisfying... it's too bad that 3/4 of the game isn't satisfying, and Makarov is written like crap.
I love how advanced modeling software has gotten that we can see SCARS on people's faces now.
I find it 'cute' that Price never skipped an opportunity to give Ghost the dad tap on the shoulder
